After 25 years of hiring different air-conditioning companies to install and service existing our existing units in different homes, I am accustomed to the “sales oriented” business models many large providers follow.
Occasionally, the designated service tech does not show: Is not late nor lost; just fails to appear. When I call the office the next day, the Customer Service personnel may apologize but the company has never offered any compensation, notwithstanding that I or my wife incurred a financial cost by taking one-half day off from work, in order to be present for the a/c maintenance tech (that never arrived).

If the management of an HVAC company cannot control their own dispatch unit, is impervious to the financial cost their failure to show up has imposed upon their own client base, then my confidence in their product recommendations, should I need a new a/c, as well as their ability to perform a professional installation, is irreparably diminished.
Moreover, larger HVAC companies have trained their routine a/c maintenance personnel to cross sell more profitable products and services, such as:
• draining and flushing out hot water heater

• Flushing (incremental charge) the condensation line that flows from the attic to the outside ground via an external PVC drain pipe

• Installing new run or start capacitors without verifying the existing ones are beginning to fail.

• Replacing (selling) air filters with upgraded (more expensive) ones, even though it is obvious the existing ones are new.

• Suggesting I need to clean my air ducts to restore circulation efficiency, etc.

So, I wanted to try a small, family owned air-conditioning contractor, and found Veteran’s AC PHX on line. I called them first BECAUSE it is a veteran owned, managed, and veteran supervised family business. I was not quite prepared for such a pleasant experience.

First impressions are important. To begin with, the technician arrived a few minutes early, and when invited inside to inspect the thermostats, he quickly slipped protective covers over his shoes before stepping through the door. In Arizona, it is unusual to see licensed tradesman with short hair, clean-shaven, with no earrings or bullet holes in their earlobes, neither a tongue stud nor nose ring (think of front counter staff in an Apple Store or Starbucks ), nor chest-to-chin tattoos. In short, Canyon Adams bears a clean cut appearance; and acts in a polite, confident demeanor.
We have a couple of 2 ton a/c’s. One is past its 10 year warranty, the other almost as old. I was expecting some bad news on the oldest unit. Instead, after inspecting both units Canyon told me they were still in good shape, and even on the oldest unit, we should expect at least another year of performance.
This was good news.

When asked what brand of a/c he would recommend if one or both units did fail this summer, he said his firm was not brand specific, but considered several factors such as cost, size, even customer’s preference, which would influence what brand of air-conditioner his company would recommend to replace the old ones. Also, this service technician made no effort to cross sell any related products or services.

When asked if my air handlers and ductwork in the attic were still in good shape, he said yes, then showed me photos that his camera lenses, embedded on the front, outside edge of his eye glasses, had captured when he visually inspected the attic space .The photos would form exhibits in his inspection report to document the current condition of our duct work and air handlers as of the inspection date. Overall, this was the most thorough, and professionally conducted HVAC inspection I have seen.

SUMMARY:

Veteran’ AC-PHX is now the sole occupant of my “FIRST CALL” list of HVAC providers.

Moreover, as long as Canyon Adams is with them, I know from whom I will purchase my next air conditioner(s).

Adam is very professional, prompt, and every time he does a checkup, he answers all my questions and gives me rock solid advice for how to maintain my ac. The whole team is great to work with.

I have been using Veterans AC for many years at all 4 of our homes. They always go the extra mile to get to the property quickly and make things right. Chris and his team are professional, very knowledgeable, and honest, all at a fair price. I highly recommend them for all of your HVAC needs.

Oct 2025 -Just had the fall inspection of heating units completed and as in the past Veterans service continues to be outstanding. Anthony thoroughly inspected the units to ensure proper operation going into fall and winter months.

June 2025 - I was so impressed with Veterans stellar quality service. The level of professionalism and responsiveness by Chris and his staff are commendable. If I could give 10 stars I would. My air conditioner went out with a worsening intermittent problem where it stopped putting out cold air during heat of the day. Chris's troubleshooting efforts were exemplar. I appreciated the explainations and reasonable cost options to correct. It great having a working air conditioner fixed going into a weekend where temperatures are projected to be excessive.

I highly recommend Veteran’s A/C for a new A/C installation! Vinnie and Cynthia were great to work with for setting up the appointments and the financing. All of my questions were answered with great customer service. Berto and Eddie were on time, professional, respectful and did a great job with the install of our new Bosch A/C unit and Thermostat. I was very happy with the follow up call from Cynthia to check that everything went well and with their tech Canyon coming out a few days later to check pressures and make sure everything is working properly. My A/C went out over the summer and my normal A/C company could not get it fixed the same day. I called Chris from Veterans A/C and he came out to fix the problem the same day while also saving me a few hundred dollars! I highly recommend using this company.
