We highly recommend using The Irish Sweep for all of your fireplace/chimney needs. Booking an appointment was straightforward, the two-person team showed up promptly, and they left us with a much cleaner and safer fireplace and chimney. They were also very conscientious about not letting any soot get onto anything else in the room. Fantastic service for a very reasonable price!

I had my chimney cleaned and inspected prior to selling my home. This company was professional, caring and honest through out the process, I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again!

Sally's years of experience, knowledge, expertise, and common sense approach are invaluable! Very honest, fair, and straightforward business practices. She and her team are friendly and keep everything very clean and COVID safe.

She and her team cleaned and conducted a video inspection of one of our fireplace chimneys (they had done the same on our second fireplace for a prior owner, so immediately recognized there was no need to reinspect just yet - saved us that cost).

The video inspection identified areas of missing mortar in the joints between flue tiles, rendering the fireplace unsafe to use. Thus, Sally and her team returned to perform a relining of both flues with HeatShield (Irish Sweep is one of the only companies in the Bay Area with certification from the HeatShield manufacturer to do this work).

They also installed a top mount damper on a flue where the original interior damper had rusted out. Works like a charm and seals completely.

The complex work went smoothly and on schedule. When less material was needed than first estimated, Sally adjusted her fee downward accordingly.

We'll happily stick with Irish Sweep for all our future chimney needs!

Sally and her team inspected our fireplace and fixed the missing mortar between all of the clay flue liners by adding a ceramic material. We felt assured and confident in their expertise and we're very excited to have a working fireplace.

I wanted someone local and who knew what they were doing to clean my dryer vent. I suspected a chimney sweep specialist could also clean dryer vents and saw that they were certified. Three people showed up at my home. The regular crew of two and also the owner Sally — because she likes meeting her customers.

They first started the dryer and did an air flow reading as a baseline. They could tell right away that air was not flowing properly. They then unhooked the dryer and started using their “mini-sweep brush” to pull the lint out. They were very thorough, took their time and made sure that vent was clear. They then took an “after” air flow reading to make sure that it was within acceptable range. They vacuumed all the lint indoors and picked up most of the lint outdoors that did not make it into their bags.

I liked that I was able to ask questions and they didn’t stop till they got all the blockages out. One of the crew seemed like an apprentice and I liked how they were training future generations to work in the business. I will call them again and not wait as long to get my dryer vents cleaned.

I shopped around and found these folks to be the best! No BS. Just straight shooting. More than a year after our service, I sent an email on a whim about an issue we were having with smoke, and Sally came out TWICE of her own accord to help us trouble-shoot. In the end, we got our setup working much better!

After an obvious scam from a well known firm, I called The Irish Sweep and had several conversations with Sally who was very clear about the process and estimate. She explained that chimney cleaning services have a very high scam and poor service record, and I've talked to other friend who reported such things such as exorbitant charges and poor work.

The service was professional and well done with a fair charge, including Sally coming along with the workers and following up to check with me.

Aside from the work itself, it is so reassuring to have confidence not just with the quality of the service but to be trusting their integrity.

Contracted with this company to clean out my chimneys. Two men arrived to do the job and suggested I add on cleaning my dryer vent for an extra fee. As I had not done that in a long time, it seemed like a good idea so I agreed. I knew something was up when I heard them arguing. They managed to disconnect my dryer vent from where it connects under the house to the vent pipe that runs to the outside. They said they were unable to reconnect it as it was in a very small space. The young man was too large to fit in the space, and the old guy was too old to crawl into the area to reconnect it. Then they tried to tell me that it had been that way all along! I knew it hadn't as I regularly saw steam venting from the pipe outside the house before their visit, but no steam venting since.
I complained that they had caused a hazard, and needed to fix it, but did not receive any service. They left it that way....AND HAD THE NERVE TO CHARGE ME FOR THE SWEEP AND THE DRYER VENT CLEANING!
Stay far away from these dishonest people!
