I just got my first heat pump installed by Chris and Drake. They are very professional and take pride in their work. I’m looking forward to the tax break and the savings on my energy bill.

The company members are knowledgable, experienced (that's all they do - install heat pumps), accomodating, easy to get along with, and gracious. They were neat and efficient in the installation. I recommend them without hesitation.

We recently had an electric heat pump HVAC system installed by the Yellowjacket Heating and Cooling (YJHC) and were very happy with their work. The project was well managed and their installers were all very skilled and professional (and courteous!). YJHC coordinated the project with the lead installer and the electrician as well as managed the required system testing and city permitting. Project updates were provided daily. YJHC representatives were always available to promptly answer questions. The YJHC team arrived on time daily and cleaned the job site before leaving. Overall, we found the YJHC team conscientious and hard working. We were very satisfied with the quality of their work and feel we can count on their support in the future for any questions or issues that may come up. We would highly recommend you consider them for your heat pump system installation.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. These folks are all born and raised in the Bay Area- they love and are invested in the communities that they work, which means they know their reputations are on the line every time they start a job. They knocked it out of the park. They are fast, efficient, and very effective communicators. Their prices are extremely competitive. We worked with them to install our heatpump. They've totally improved the comfort of our home!

Andrei, Michael, and Brad were completely professional and easy to deal with. Mike and Brad were polite and considerate and very obliging--Mike re-set all my curtain brackets to make them match the one lowered for the mini-split. The units, both inside and out, were installed in a way that looked good and unobtrusive. All three, Andrei especially, were great at answering all my questions.

I just had my central heating and AC installed by Yellowjacket. I upgraded from gas to all energy efficient electric heat pump+AC. And if I could give them 10 stars, I would. They were so well prepared for the job and finished per plan. So thoughtful. They were also super clean after each day's job. They even gave me a progress report each day on where they were to the project completion. (This is was 1st time for me). The job is superb. And with my 100 year old house where the temperature is uneven in different rooms, the way they designed the heating duct was perfect! Every room is comfortable! The whole team is highly skilled and very nice!!! And the quote was the lowest from 3 that I compared. So, I have been recommending this company to my friends, and now confidently to anyone in the area who needs heating/AC! I encourage you to get a quote. You won't regret it!!!

Had literally the best experience with the Yellowjackets. I was already set on another estimate but decided to have one more conversation with them, as they were so highly recommended. Not only were they able to give me a better offer, but they were very clear and incredibly transparent in their communication, their consulting, process and their pricing.

The whole project (from design to inspection) went well, quick, successful, I felt immense trust in the whole crew and it did not hurt that they brought coffee and loved on my dog :)

In a single word: Attentive. The YJ team consistently made extra efforts to solve things thoughtfully, to make the execution cleaner, and to reassess a plan if/when our house presented its nuances. The crew is ideal—they kept us posted re: daily progress, cleaned up the job site every day, were pleasant and approachable. We replaced our gas furnaces with 6 mini splits, and the result is an even, comfortable temperature throughout our home. YJ is well-suited to the Berkeley area because they have both the expertise and desire to see each old/odd/charming/drafty house as a fun puzzle to sort out. Seamless experience, excellent investment.

Owen and Andrei provided great service for our heat pump system. They worked with me to come up with the best design to work with our unique home (central ducted forced air system supplued by an external heat pump mounted on the roof). Very quiet system, not bulky head units on the wall and high efficiency. Great communication through a live Google Doc where each decision was recorded for clarity of understanding. Starting the job with a bag of nice coffee and a bottle of champagne is a nice touch too!

Initially I wasn’t sure if a heat pump was the right thing, but after doing more research and being taken through the benefits by Owen, it’s clear I will be saving money through an energy efficient appliance. Not only that, but It’s great knowing I will now have both heating and air conditioning through a single unit.

We had an oustanding and positive experience working with Yellowjacket Heating and Cooling Service to install a new heat pump. We worked with Andrei and Owen and their team and found them to be highly competent, responsive and friendly. They are a newer family-owned, Berkeley business and have excellent customer service, expertise and know-how. We contacted them at the suggestion of a neighbor who had just hired them to install a new heat pump for her. She is a retired, professional contractor who had compared their bid to several others and chose them. We know that anyone who passed muster with her was a good choice for us. We also compared the Yellowjacket bid to another well-known local company who we had bought our furnaces from 20 years ago, and Yellowjacket HVAC came out on top. We also worked with their electrician to figure out how to upgrade our electrical panel to handle the new heat pump and that process was highly preferred to other communications we had with electricians from other firms. The team was in and out within a five day period. We are very happy customers and highly recommend Andrei, Owen and their team. Overall A+.
