Easy to drop off household hazardous materials. Sign up for an appointment first, and the rest is seamless. The employees were friendly and helpful.

I recently was faced with the task of cleaning up and disposing of an accumulation of many years of household hazardous waste. These items include paint, garden sprays, pesticides and assorted household cleaners. I was able to properly dispose of these items by utilizing three local resources.
Del Norte Recycling Center accepted up to five gallons of water base paints if the original labels are on the cans.
Dunn Edwards Paints also accepts water base and oil base paints with original labels on the cans.
Clean Harbor in Camarillo accepts just about any household hazard waste items that most of us would have in our homes. They only accept drop offs on the second Friday and Saturday of the month and you must make an appointment.
All three of these facilities were superb and make it easy to properly dispose of household hazardous waste. -
They offer an important service - allowing you to dispose of household and automotive waste properly. Be sure to get an appointment!
Make sure to tell then if you want your containers returned once emptied -
Been trying to dispose of household hazmat for months. Was told to just come in, got there and was told it was certain day and to just come back. Came back again and was told I need an appointment even though the phone girl said I didnt. Now when I call, it goes to their international hotline in India. I blame the city if Oxnard for this awful program as well. No wonder people sump stuff on the streets.

It I very rare that I encounter a business that is this rude and unhelpful. It seems they intentionally want to make it as difficult as possible to recycle for CESQG, a process which used to be streamlined and seamless with the City of Ventura. This is a massive step down since Clean Harbors took over. They act extremely annoyed if you ask any questions, cut you off, and do the opposite of partnering with you to achieve the positive goal of doing the right thing to recycle. The options for dropping off waste are dramatically reduced and you have to drive to another city instead of doing it in your own. Alarming. What a sad choice for Ventura County. Dramatically reduces the quality of life for living an doing business in this county, transforming a basic service we have easily accomplished for 25 years into a huge nightmare.
