Bonafide Earthworks did a great job putting in a much needed new storm drain, fixing retaining wall problems, and improving the back yard at my mountain home. The project took a few days. They consistently showed up on time and each day left things cleaned up as much as possible. Ben explained the reasons for everything they were doing and kept me informed as to progress. I love my new back yard and am looking forward to not having to fight storm drain issues this coming winter. I highly recommend Bonafide Earthworks! Thank you, Ben and team!

We are all aware it's extremely difficult to find, a good contractor let alone a great contractor within the San Bernadino mountains. From Running Springs to Big Bear Lake and beyond. I can say this, after owning 2 homes in Big Lake and Big Bear City (North Shore) over a 15 year period. We got the cream of the crop when we stumbled across Bonifide on the net. I placed a call for an estimate for a new drive way. Ben was busy but made the trip to measure that afternoon that included his quote. I went off a few things that were important to me. Reviews, punctuation, details of what we needed to make it our way, honesty, not to mention that great personality of Ben's. Although we needed fo put off a couple months at our end. The quote remained the same 2 months later. After scheduled date Our driveway had to be delayed by a couple days. Ben wasted no time in contacting me. His customer had added more work at the jobsite he was at. By Ben reaching out right away; I was able to rearrange my own schedule in a timely manner. That in itself was a green light I made the right choice with Bonifide. The big day arrived, Ben and his crew worked hard. They did a fabulous job on that new 25' x 30' drive. Neighbors and walkers have stopped to admire. Glad I was able to get some of Bonifide business cards to pass out. We are simply tickled to have a driveway at this old family cabin in Arrowbear after 40 plus years. Thank you to Ben and his crew for such a pleasing to the eye driveway. Along with your dedicated work to detail and perfection. I still want a cool Bonifide shirt. Best to this company as they truly are 5 stars deserving.

Bonafide Earthworks is fantastic! It is so rare to find contractors on the mountain that provide high quality and timely services, so I am especially pleased to recommend them.

My project was roughly 1,200 square feet of asphalt overlay, about 110 square feet of new asphalt to expand an additional parking area, plus forming and pouring a concrete step. I found the owner (Ben) to be easy to deal with. He made the entire process easy for me by taking out a couple of trees, removing an old tree stump, and other prep work, but we were able to quick come to terms on price and schedule. As I’m a stickler for detail (as I’ve managed multiple large and complex projects) and know a fair amount about asphalt (having managed the rehabilitation of 1,700 linear feet of my access road some years back), I found the written agreement to be a bit vague; as a result, I drafted and emailed a comprehensive scope of work and Ben agreed to it without hesitation.

Bonafide did all the prep work as well as the concrete step a day earlier than scheduled and I was very pleased that it was done so well; with one minor exception, all of the prep was very well done. Then, for the asphalt work, that was completed on schedule and with high quality. As they worked, Ben made a couple of suggestions and we worked out a couple of details – I was pleased with the communication as everything was done as I wished. Throughout the process I watched to ensure that shortcuts weren’t being taken: his crew, however, seems dedicated to quality work. Additionally, as the project progressed, I noticed one aspect we hadn’t discussed that needed attention – Bonafide went above and beyond their responsibility even though it was caught late and thus required some additional work. In the end, everything looked amazing and I am looking forward to Bonafide sealcoating the entirety of the project in a few months.

They completely remodeled my entire backyard and turned it into something I’m proud to show off. They poured new concrete that came out clean, smooth, and perfectly done. Then they installed artificial turf that looks incredibly real and leveled everything out so it flows perfectly. On top of that, they built a beautiful retaining wall and even added a garden area that honestly tied the whole space together and gave it that finished, high-end look.

What really stood out was their attention to detail and work ethic. Nothing felt rushed or sloppy—everything was done right the first time. The crew was professional, showed up on time, and kept me in the loop the whole way through. You can tell they take pride in their work, and it shows in every part of the project.

My backyard went from basic to looking like a completely new space. It feels bigger, cleaner, and way more functional now.
