Working with Solhome has been a complete joy. Their professionalism and quick turn around really helped in getting solar for our home. My family has been debating installing solar for years, but never went forward due to the overwhelming amount of information and not knowing the best vendor to use. Solhome walked through this process patiently and Harold our hands along the way feeling confident this was a sound financial decision. We’ve gotten to know the owner Dave, project manager Troy and Reuben site supervisor very well and happy we went with this vendor. Their crew Kevin, Ryan and Abraham were terrific , professional and courteous . We are happy to be part of the Solhome family now:)

Dave and team were the best!! They we professional, detailed and honest. Pricing was great and they have been a stand up business to work with. I have now used them multiple times and would use them again and again. We have been through a lot of home construction teams and Dave's is the best!!
Shawn was also awesome and I swear my kids were ready to have them all move in! We had them build a customer pantry, move our furnace into the attic, add an AC, do solar, roofing... The list goes on and on!

We Build San Diego is extremely reliable, amazing with customer service, and affordably priced. The most recent project we did was a large scale solar installation. I could not be happier! I highly recommend them for any home-improvement need! Five stars! 🤙

Dave and his company were highly recommended to us by a friend. After having a fair bit of work done, I, too, am impressed by Dave and his employees at SolHome and would highly recommend them with zero reservations (and have already). Troy was our project manager for a heat pump HVAC system, solar, and battery install. He did a great job.

HVAC
We went with a heat pump with attic-mounted air handler and external condenser. The HVAC guys (Tim and Greg) knocked it all out in a (long) day! They built a platform for the air handler in the attic, ran the circuits for the heat pump and air handler, cut in 8 vents and ran all the ductwork, installed all the critical sensors (leak detectors, etc), installed a new thermostat. Everything was done in the time they initially estimated. We also had them remove the old non-functional gravity furnace. They did an outstanding job. They also explained the system and answered all my questions. They cleaned up after everything they did. There wasn't any dust from drywall they cut, and they removed all the packaging, trash, and the old furnace when they left.

Solar
We went with an 8kW array with Enphase microinverters feeding an Enphase System Controller and Enphase IQ batteries. Ryan and his crew (Ivan, Antonio, and Cody) arrived on time and installed the entire array and had it wired in a single day. The installation looks neat and well done. I think they did a great job.

Battery and System Controller
It was important to me to have a system that could produce power from solar in the event of a sustained outage. In the Enphase offering, that means a smart controller and batteries. Because of limits in the existing service panel, there was a fair bit of rewiring along with the new install. Reuben and Eugene were the electricians that pulled all that together. They installed a backup loads panel, batteries, system controller, bypass switch, all the Enphase sensors, an additional third-party per-circuit electrical usage monitor, plus an additional circuit to the garage. Reuban went beyond expectations. He stayed several hours late to ensure we'd have backup power available before the hurricane arrived. He also came on his day off to sort out some other problems with the system. I am extremely impressed. He also took the time to answer my many question about the system and it's operation.

When things don't go as planned
One of the things that impressed me about SolHome is how they took care of a mistake. During our solar install, there was a hole drilled that didn't have a bolt in it. During the hurricane it manifested as a leak that resulted in some pooling water that dripped out of the ceiling. I contact Troy. He had a roofer (Jesus) down there the following morning. The issue was fixed immediately. Troy and Dave called me to discuss the issue while Jesus was fixing the roof. They had already worked out a process change to help ensure that error didn't happen again. They sent drywall guys to remove the damaged drywall and insulation the same day. We waited for a couple days with a hole in the ceiling to ensure things dried out before patching. The drywaller returned, replaced the insulation, repaired the drywall, and taped. A day later, they came back to complete contouring and texture to make it look like part of the ceiling. When that was dry, the painter came and painted. The result looks better than what they removed (previous owner had a bad drywall patch from moving a light fixture). I was impressed with how proactive Troy and Dave were in getting this issue taken care of.

I am extremely pleased with SolHome's quality, service, and communication. Everybody showed up on time, when they indicated they were going to be there. They stayed on schedule. All the workers were polite, courteous, and professional. They did an excellent job cleaning up after themselves, and covering things with plastic or drop cloths as necessary. Updates on work were performed on the day the work was done. Billing was timely and reflected work performed.

The entire team is made up of hand-picked professionals who excel in their trades. Dave and Troy run their business with integrity and honesty, and their communication is above and beyond. They are knowledgable and willing to try new projects, and when something does not go to plan (as is always the case with any home project), they are adaptable, quick to adjust and troubleshoot. We have worked with multiple contractors over the years, and We Build San Diego is by far the best we have ever worked with.

Reading through other postings and must say I echo every positive comment. When we first sat down with Dave, everything was so perfect, I hesitated, thinking, "this guy can't be real." Well, happy to report he is, as is Troy, and every other professional on their highly skilled and creative team. Remodeling our bathroom / shower was something needed, but also dreaded. We made some significant changes, but they were able to blend old with new which left us with a beautiful and cohesive look while staying within our budget. We are so pleased with the beautiful, functional outcome, but just as important to us, we were pleased with the whole process. From the very beginning, Dave truly listened to what we wanted and he communicated honestly and openly about what was realistic, what was not, and what his professional recommendations were. Throughout the entire process, the team communicated with one another and with us. They kept a tight and disciplined schedule and at the end of every day, the only evidence that people had been in and out of the house was the progress made on the project. We work outside of the home and were completely comfortable having the crew come and go. Even with COVID, they stayed on-schedule and within budget. We are truly grateful. We appreciate the whole team and highly recommend them, and will use them again, without hesitation, for any and all future projects.

SolHome replaced my roof and installed my Solar several months ago. Today they came out and installed a Level two EV Charger for our Hybrid SUV. Troy was nothing but professional and after we figured out where we wanted it Ruben was here two days later and had it installed within 3-4 hours. We hired Dave and the team at We Build San Diego to install a new solar system at our home, including Enphase batteries and an off grid switch. From our first meeting, Dave was extremely informative about the process, sizing our system, and designing our installation. We had so many choices to make, and Dave helped us navigate the math of electricity and translate that into the actual benefits and requirements of running our house now and into the planned future. While the City of San Diego is particularly slow with permits, once we were approved, we had a talented crew arrive to install the system. Our installers were quality focused, respectful, and great communicators. In addition, We Build's platform for communication, photos, and finance makes things extremely easy to track. The installation worked perfectly from the moment we threw the switches into test mode, and we were up and running with both SDGE and City permission to operate in just a few days. The team at We Build San Diego stand behind their work and are extremely responsive and patient. We highly recommend them and look forward to hiring them for future work.

I cannot give enough praise and say how amazing the “We build San Diego” team is. Dave and his crew built our dream home in Escondido and out of all of the contractors we researched, “We build San Diego” was the only company that thoroughly went over their bid with me line item by line item explaining every detail. Their follow up was superb and they would keep in touch with me constantly throughout the entire process. During construction, Dave would always keep me notified of all updates and the work and quality was nothing short of amazing. As someone who used to work as a foreman in construction myself, I can attest to the quality of their craftsmanship. I re-hired “We build San Diego” for my 5 car garage and even the beginning architecture plans are already amazing. Five stars to “We Build San Diego” and if we could, we’d give them ten. My attempt to work directly with Tesla for a Power Wall 3 was a failure. They did do a site audit and proposed a system. That proposal did not reflect what I wanted. And, they would not have any dialog with me about how the system would work. Finally after several request they did answer some of my written questions. At my request this project was aborted.

While searching on YouTube for Power Wall 3 installation videos, I saw one from Dave Pollock and his company SolHome. The video demonstrated the installation of the Power Wall and the Tesla Backup Switch. That’s what I wanted so I called Dave and that started the project.

Dave did a site inspection and I learned some important points the Tesla never mentioned. The project began within a few days and took several weeks to get the required city building permits. Once the permits were released it only took a few days to schedule installation. The installation took about a day and a half. The city inspection was scheduled and passed. From installation start to passing inspection was a total of four days.

Things electrical are very interesting to me so I watched the installation crew work. The three man crew was very knowledgeable and worked very well together. They answered all my questions, even questions about the electrical code. The crew was helpful and they worked diligently. All work was neat and the work area was always cleaned up when they left for the day.

Our solar system was pre-existing and they made all the required updates to that system so it was up to date with the national electrical code.

I am very happy with the installation and the system is working very well.

This is an incredible, customer-oriented solar company. Their price was close to the least expensive, however working with Dave, the owner, sold me on the company. He is always responsive to my questions. His crew is professional and very friendly. I highly recommend SolHome.

We Build San Diego completed a full roof repair/replacement, installed mini split system and did a partial bathroom renovation including tub/tile, and rebuilt an exterior wall. Despite several challenges, Dave and his team went above and beyond to ensure the work was done in a timely manner and that we were satisfied with the final outcome.

We are extra grateful for Donny, who worked afterhours in the cold rain to make sure our heating system was up and running for the family that night. Joey and Eugene were also a huge help and always a pleasure to work with. Troy acted as a great project manager and the entire team was always on time, friendly and always left a clean jobsite.

We were extremely happy with the solar system installed by We Build San Diego. The owner David Pollock was knowledgeable about the technology, both what best suited our current needs and what the options might be for future changes or expansion. The installers, Cristian and Jayce, were friendly and knowledgeable. At the end of each day, everything was left clean and tidy. The communication was excellent. We had daily updates, with photographs, on the progress of the installation. Questions were readily answered by the owner, the project manager Troy, and the installers. When the project was complete, our clay tile roof was in better shape than before it was started.

We are very happy with We Build San Diego, we hired them to do some remodeling of our home that we just purchased, install new floor, do some demo of a wall and soffit, and install some recess lighting. They did an outstanding job with the aggressive timeline before we had to move in. Dave the owner is very responsive and professional, was patient with us, explained the process and always followed through with our questions. Troy the project manager was super responsive, really kept track of our project and made sure to keep us updated and in the loop of what was happening. The website is very organized, you keep track of who is working in your home, and what they've accomplished for the day. All the workers were very respectful, and really accommodating. We will be using them again in the future for our kitchen remodel.

Hey did a great job. Troy and his team were very knowledgeable and he knew his stuff and the product better than other contractors I talked to. They were also competitively priced and were able to accommodate my specific requests when other contractors would not.

I can’t say enough good things about Dave and crew at SolHome and the job they did upgrading my solar system and installing a new heat pump. I liked them so much that recommended SolHome to a close friend. The installs were handled with no problems, the crew cleaned up after themselves. Now we have AC and no expensive gas heating bills.

Dave didn’t rest until all the minor details were handled. They included optimizing the control system for the Solar so that I maximize my return on investment. I did shop around and the biggest bang for my buck was SolHome.

We had a great experience with SolHome and the installation of a new Thermal Heating and Air system. The process was easy and installation was seamless. Plus, this new system is already making an impact with even heat distribution and lower energy costs. We wish we would have done this sooner! The team was so helpful answering any questions and letting us know the timeline and process.

We contracted with SolHome to install two Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries with our existing solar system. Dave had the best solution for our complicated existing setup with two different solar types. They consolidated everything together to work with the Tesla batteries. They were on time, efficient and clean. They had to pull 37 panels off the roof in high heat and the crew did a great job and no damage. I would recommend Dave and SolHome for your solar needs.

Dave and his team did a great job installing our solar. Their prices were competitive and their work was fantastic. They finished all the details and left the worksite clean (I’ve seen too many contractors finish a job 95% but not quite finish, but SolHome completed the job on schedule, including all the small details). They also installed our solar very quickly (the other companies we checked with were going to take a couple months longer to get us installed). We are very pleased. They went above and beyond for us and we are highly impressed.

I couldn't have been happier with the professionalism, responsiveness and friendliness of SolHome personnel when they installed my internal heat pump/HVAC system. They are part of the HEERA rebate network and were a knowledgeable support in helping me secure the generous rebate for my heat pump system. Do look into HEERA and hire SolHome!
