For those who don't have time to read everything: THESE. GUYS. ARE. THE. BEST. And, as far as I'm concerned, the only game in town. Really good home espresso machines and grinders--not something you find on sale at a department store--require not only an initial outlay, but a continued investment of time and energy, and the cost of upkeep. It's not really for dilettantes. That's where Dave, Otto and Greg come in. I initially brought my version two Rancilio Silvia to HiTech for a PID in ‘20. I recently returned to have a pressure problem fixed, which they completed while I waited. During that half-hour or so, I asked questions and listened intently, and learned more about which machines/manufacturers are worth the price and what I could do to continue improving my espresso than in weeks of online viewing. Dave's knowledge is amazingly wide-reaching on everything from machines to practices, and he doesn't mince words. I, for one, appreciate the honesty and strong opinions that come from experience. I think that’s the word I keep coming back to—honest. Honest work, honest advice. HiTech is a goldmine for anyone serious about keeping their home espresso set-up in seriously good shape.

Very knowledgeable. Far better option than trying to send your espresso machine back to the manufacturer. They have repaired two of my machines and I have been very pleased with the experience both times. Happy to support this local business.

Dave is a genuine master technician for real espresso machines. He did an amazing job undoing some shoddy plumbing and tuning up my ECM Giotto. If you have a Starbucks pressurized filter machine, then HiTech may not be for you. It's...high tech. If, on the other hand, you understand espresso machines or want to trust a master to work on your highly engineered equipment, then you should call him.

We took our 5 year old Gaggia for repair several months ago. Dave took our machine for repair right away and completed the work sooner than expected. Price was reasonable. Our machine is still working great. Unlike some of the reviews we found Dave very personable, knowledgable and instructive. So glad to have this resource and happy to support a local small business.

A TRUE PROFESSIONAL ! My wife bought me a little Sunbeam espresso machine for Xmas back in Australia over 20 years ago...and we have had a home espresso machine ever since. WE LOVE OUR MORNING LATTES ! Of course most of us start off with an entry point model and work our way up. That's what we did ! After our Gaggia Platinum Swing ( $1000 ) lasted about 8 years we were sold on Gaggia when it came to buying another one in July, 2020. This time we went for top of the line.....Gaggia Babila ( $1900 ). And we love this fully automatic espresso machine...it has more bells and whistles than a stealth bomber. We maintained it correctly even using filtered water from our fridge plus the Saeco filter in the water reservoir ( we had hard water in Solana Beach ). It delivered the best lattes we have ever enjoyed at home for the next 2 and a half years. PROBLEM ! About a month after we moved house to Irvine..in fact on Xmas Day, 2022 the machine stopped dispensing espresso half way through it's double shot procedure. The display read E01...most likely a clogged ceramic grinder. VERY DISAPPOINTING ! Being in possession of a T10 screwdriver I pulled the machine apart the next day and cleaned the clogged grinder. When I powered up the machine I was able to pour an espresso shot. I thought the machine was fixed but the next morning the display read E05...which means the water flow is blocked. We gave up ! I figured that the coffee bean grinder electric motor would need to be replaced. My wife found HiTech Espresso up in L.A online but they were closed for the Xmas / New Year period until Jan 3rd. I phoned and spoke with David Blane the owner ( a fairly pleasant guy ) who said the grinder electric motor was gone....the charge to repair was $300 plus parts and a week to 10 days to complete the job. OKAY ! You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find qualified people to repair a high end espresso machine. We decided to go with David. On Wednesday, Jan 11th we hightailed it up to Griffith Park ...a totally stressful 47 mile trip. I met David the owner who seemed a very knowledgeable espresso machine guy...he even offered to make us espressos. David has a pristine workshop set up in the basement of his house and three very qualified employees who help with the espresso machine repairs. To his word we received a phone call within the 10 day period that our beloved Gaggia Babila was fully functioning again. COST....$410 ( $300 labor + $100 for a replacement electric motor and $10 for a new valve ). Otto who is one of David's highly qualified employees told me the coffee grinder electric motor ( E01 - clogged grinder ) was replaced plus a blocked valve in the top of the brew group ( which explained the E05 - water flow problem ). On Sat, Jan 21st we made the arduous drive up to L.A to pick up our repaired espresso machine. Otto took care of us and explained they offer a 90 day warranty on their repairs. David the owner was otherwise occupied and we didn't get to thank him. Our beautiful Gaggia Babila has been delivering excellent lattes ever since we got it back. THANK YOU DAVID !

I brought in my 30+ year old Pavoni and Dave restored it to brand new! I can't say enough about the quality and professionalism of these guys. Great work! When other companies refused to work on my unit, HiTech Espresso rose to the challenge and went above and beyond my expectations.

Brought my ECM machine in for repairs. Problem was fixed in a timely manner, and at a lower cost than I expected. When I picked it up, David explained to me what the problem was, gave me the failed part that he replaced, and was very knowledgeable about my brand machine. Contrary to some reviews on here, he seemed nice enough to me. His assistant was also very nice and helpful.
I will definitely be using HiTech Espresso for future repairs.
