Good stores for HVAC

Great service and information by Derick today. I am HERS RATER and I love referring installers and new HVAC companies to them!
-
Best one stop HVAC suppliers in business! Tools equipment parts all in one, multi-brand parts supplier.
When the others branded companies can’t, Johnstone is your best resource. The best in HVACR Contractor wholesale. -
This place has it all. Whenever I need something I call Johnstone Oakland. They always have it in stock and at a good price. Can't beat that!

If you're not a contractor these guys don't want your business. It looks like a store but evidently is not; they told me they couldn't sell to me and sent me up the street to pay for the part (they wouldn't even tell me how much it would cost before I drove to the other location). After standing in line twice at Ace Hardware (once in main line then was sent to talk to manager) I found out they wanted twice as much for the part as what I ended up getting it for. All of this wouldn't have been the end of the world if they weren't so rude about the whole thing once finding out I wasn't a contractor. If you're a contractor they are probably fine, if not - don't bother going there.

I have an EPA 608 certification and I called Johnstone to get a quote on a heat pump system. They refused to give me a quote unless I have a C-20 license. They won't even sell to general contractors. The whole point of getting A universal 608 is so you can purchase equipment to do repairs.

I bought a thermostat from them. A friend installed it and I just needed help reprogramming it. My friend who installed it took about one minute to program it but he has moved away. There are no directions and when I called this company where I bought it they were rude and condescending. I am 73 years old and the guy who was in the parts department said I would need a technician (about 100+ dollars) I am a senior and need 2 minutes of help to do something he said was simple and just go on line to learn how. I don’t have a computer. It verges on elder abuse. I paid good money to get the Emerson programmable thermostat from Johnston. But they won’t give an elderly woman 2 minutes of their time! I will never do business with them again nor recommend them to any senior. It’s 2022 folks and treating a senior like that is horrible business policy and practice.
