Since my last review wasn't clear. My contractor for Sunpower has been waiting for payment from Sunpower to pay CED, they bought supplies from THIS COMPANY. Instead of waiting they threatened a lien on my home (Credit Office 9825) and extracted 6k from me.

On a standard Friday I called at 330pm to make sure my order was ready for pickup(they were supposed to call me). I was told my order was ready for pickup and that I could come today for it, so I left work early to make it through traffic, showed up at 4:40pm to a closed office and no one answering the phone. Posted at the store window and online is a 5pm closing time. Wasted my time and money.

I want to share my experience so others can avoid going through the same situation I did due to this company’s policies and the actions of their staff and management.

On December 8, I went into the store to purchase two 4-gauge meter panels and a 400-amp main disconnect. At the time of purchase, Mike, the sales representative at the front desk, provided me with specifications and dimensions for both the meter panels and the main disconnect. Based on those measurements—which were critical for my installation—I agreed to move forward with the purchase and paid over $4,000 in full.

They had the meter panels in stock but told me the main disconnect would be ready later.

On December 18, I was notified that the material was ready for pickup. I sent one of my employees to collect it. When he arrived, the disconnect cabinet was so large that their staff cut the box open to make it fit into the truck and loaded it themselves.

When the material arrived at my shop, it was immediately obvious that the disconnect was much larger than what was originally specified—approximately 16 inches taller, wider, and deeper. This size will not work for the intended installation, and it is clearly not what I agreed to purchase.

I double-checked the original specs that were provided to me at the time of sale, and it confirmed that the wrong disconnect was ordered and supplied by them, not by me.

I instructed my employee to return the disconnect immediately, without unloading it or altering it in any way. However, upon returning to the store, he was made to wait over two hours while staff claimed they needed to contact a manager. No resolution was provided.

I then personally went to the store and asked to speak with someone in charge or someone above the manager. At that point, they refused to accept the return, claiming the item had to be returned “in the original box”—even though their own employees cut the box open and loaded the equipment. We never touched or modified the packaging ourselves.

As a result, I am now being forced to keep a $2,400 main disconnect that I never ordered, cannot use, and was incorrectly supplied.

When I requested corporate contact information, escalation options, and clarification of their return policy, management escalated the situation unnecessarily and called the police in an apparent attempt to intimidate me. I remained on site, explained everything to the officers, and received a police report number. Only then did the manager provide corporate contact information.

Due to the lack of accountability, refusal to correct their mistake, and unprofessional handling of the situation, I am now pursuing formal complaints and legal action to recover the funds for equipment that was incorrectly sold to me.

This experience reflects extremely poor customer service, misleading sales practices, and a complete lack of responsibility. I strongly caution other contractors and customers to be very careful when doing business with this company.
I will upload photos and videos of the whole interaction and how manager handled this situation. I might not be a big customer for them but I am pretty sure I had done a lot of business with them until today. They are probably a good place where you can find a your product but when it comes to fill safe buying things there… I don’t think so. They don’t have your back and definitely a bad customer service from Mike and his Manager Laughing at me and how frustrated I was because now I am stuck with something I never ordered. And only because it does not have a box that they removed they refused to take it back.
