Tom and Andrew did a couple of big jobs for us, replacing panels and adding an EV charger for the car, as well as some small switches and plugs work. We are very happy with the work and results. Tom was responsive and always available to answer questions. The work was done on time and very neatly, with Andrew & Tom always responsive and courteous as they work. The results have been great, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Tom helped us to install a beautiful low voltage lighting system several years ago, and recently responded quickly when a new issue required a bit of troubleshooting. Tom is professional and has a high level of expertise. We have really appreciated his help, and highly recommend Tom to others!

Tom was great to work with. He went out of his way to come to our house from another job, and was in and out within 15 minutes. He did excellent work, and gave us a really great rate for the work. He was nice and easy to talk to, and I’ll be going to him for all my future electrician needs.

We have a second home in Redwood City where recently our electric service wires got knocked out by a tree that was blown over in one of the recent storms here in March 2023. To be without power was bad enough but the prospect of going without it for a long period was a stressful thought. So we did a search and quickly found O'Connor & Son's Electric and after contacting Tom he quickly came out to our home and gave us all the options available. Not only was Tom very knowledgeable and engaging but his solution was immediate in our emergency situation and we had our power turned back on as fast as PG&E could have done it. Is Tom the least expensive or cheapest? probably not but who wants to have their electric panel serviced by a handyman!? In our case Tom was able to make the necessary repairs and had special parts on hand and a truck well stocked with everything needed for our electric panel box. He even upgraded the wires from aluminum to copper and connected us with the PG&E service Rep to request a reconnection. I couldn't have asked for a better job and we were up and running within 12 hours which is amazing since the PG&E have been inundated with repairs to the system at this time. Definitely call "Tom" with O'Connor & Son's Electric. You won't go wrong.

Being renters we are naive to most aspects of home building and maintenance. Initially I contacted O’Connor Electric for an outlet that stopped working and with owner Tom’s expertise, discovered there was a much more urgent matter to attend to. He worked diligently to secure emergency permits from the city and began work 24 hours later. They finished the job ahead of schedule and now I feel much more safe in this home.
My landlord got a second opinion about the issue from another electrician and he vetted Tom’s work.

I happily recommend Tom. He helped us some years ago installing a light fixture and we were very pleased. This time we had a major problem and were again very pleased. We received a new electric dryer after waiting 8 weeks only to find that the circuit needed to be upgraded. I called Tom and received a call back same day even though he was overseas on vacation. Andrew came out, took pictures, conferred with Tom and they started (and finished) the necessary work promptly, on time and on budget. Everything is working great and I could not be more pleased. In addition, a neighbor had a minor issue and Tom took care of that, as well, without missing a beat!

Tom was very responsive. He recommended a solution that was better and much more economical than what another electrician recommended. He brings old-fashioned pride, craftsmanship, and honesty to his job. He won't do free estimates, but will credit the cost of the estimate to the job. If you treat him with the respect his experience deserves, he will propose and deliver the best solution for you for a fair price.

Absolutely great experience with Tom at O’Connor & Sons Electric this morning! Called him to look at a long-standing electrical problem with some outdoor power outlets which other electricians had not been able to fix.

Tom was clear about the schedule, showed up on time, figured everything out in record time, had the needed parts in his van, and the solved the problems very quickly.

O'Connor & Sons have worked on several issues at my house over the years. Most recently, some power outlets in my kitchen stopped working. But Tom was able to come the same day and install new outlets. I have always been happy with the results.

On Christmas evening, with us scheduled to fly early the next morning for a family vacation, one of our house circuits went out and we couldn't reset it. Our house/dog sitter was scheduled to arrive the next day, and we couldn't leave the house without electricity in part of the house. Based on online reviews, I contacted Bob O'Connor. He called back in 15 minutes, and said he may be able to help me fix the problem over the phone. When that didn't work, he said he could be at our house in 5 minutes, "no problem." He came with his son, replaced a faulty circuit breaker, and saved our vacation. Thanks, Bob!

Tom was such a tremendous blessing! We were in a very bad place with our panel and wiring and his prompt response and professionalism meant we were able to get the issue addressed immediately and he truly saved the day- our hero! He was able to succinctly explain issues clearly and in a way that made this non-electrician feel confident I understood as best as possible. His assessment was utterly life saving for us in that very, very stressful time and we couldn’t have appreciated his work more. He was prompt, communicative, kind, friendly and the consummate professional. Tom and every member of the company are worth their collective weight in gold!

I messed up some DIY electrical work. Tom was able to come over the same day (within a couple hours of me calling) to clean up my mess in a professional, quick, and friendly manner. Moving forward, I'd be glad to give Tom more business! Cannot recommend enough.

Tom took my call this morning and was at my home within 2 hours to diagnose and fix a wiring problem (I had drilled a cable inside the wall). Although he'd only promised a quick visit to estimate, he was able to complete the repair, plus two additional small jobs, on the spot. Great expertise and he made sure everything was cleaned up before leaving. I'll use Tom again without hesitation.

Prompt service: first he stopped by to scope up the job, we then continued discussing it over text. Once done he helped us with a consultation with an appliance service tech that advised on what electric dryer to buy to replace our old gas dryer.

James, the apprentice of the owner/founder Tom O'Connor (I believe), came to the promptly house about 30 minutes after I called them. He was kind, friendly and professional, fixing one of the lights in the house (it was an issue with the switch being old and broken and the wires being permanently in the off position even when the switch was flipped on, so he unscrewed the cover to the switch and replaced it with a new switch), and confirming that our garage door opener issue was not electric (there are 20 volts dc flowing to the opener he told me to tell the garage guy when he gets here). We chose them because of their great reviews on Google and we had the same experience. Highly recommended.

Tom and his company are hardworking, fair, honest, and straightforward. He is kind and funny in the kind of way someone needs to be when they deliver you bad news. In our case, it was our electrical panel which was badly in need of updating. He worked with our landlord to sort out all the details and because he is so adept at navigating the appropriate city departments, he was able to complete the full replacement in one day.

Tom worked with us to identify an approach consisting of a new mast and meter main service box with upgraded service while retaining the old box to provide power to the pre-existing circuits. The result is a tidy arrangement of high-quality components paired with Tom’s high-quality work. Unperturbed by our presence as the work was being done, Tom provided explanations and answered all our questions.

Tom is a pleasure to work with. He is extremely responsive and on time, which is a rare trait but invaluable trait in this business. He is meticulous and of course very competent in his work.
