Petros, the owner of Construction Remedy, made two visits to our home. He evaluated the extent of the three electrical problems during the first short visit - no power to three electrical outlets in the kitchen. During the second, more extended stay, he solved the main problem - a loose wire in the electrical panel. This solution also restored power in the other two kitchen outlets. He also upgraded three other electrical outlets in the kitchen and resolved a light flickering problem in the entrance ceiling light. The problem was also a loose wire in the light switch. The cost of having a total of five electrical issues professionally resolved was reasonable, in my view.

Construction Remedy was prompt, professional, and thorough. Petros explained the work proposed to be done clearly, and answered all our questions. The work crew members were prompt, they worked hard the full time they were on the job, and they left the job site cleaned up each day. Petros communicated well with us to understand what we wanted. He made sure we were happy with how the job (staining our deck and building back yard steps) turned out.

Petros from Construction Remedy was very patient and attentive in repairing and replacing our front porch after heavy water damage. He also repaired the drywall and rotten wood in the storage room below the porch. He explained the process and gave us multiple options to repair so that we are completely satisfied. He took extra care in ensuring that we will not have any leak and structural problems in the future. Petros was there through out the job to answer any questions that arose.

We had a lot of wood rot on support wall beams. Petros explained what it would take to fix it and even suggested how to make the repairs even better. Reasonable price and great work. So glad to have my workout/game room back.

Great job painting our house! Took great care preparing and priming. Replaced broken siding. Also found and repaired/replaced areas that needed it, like a dry-rotted roof beam and door jamb. Meticulous, great work ethic. Did little extras. Great job refinishing our deck. Very pleasant and easy to work with. Would hire again.

We hired Petros to fix damage from the elements that had accumulated over the years on our 100+ year old house. He
- Patched and replaced our super rotten siding: the pictures below show just a bit of how bad condition the wood was in before he started
- Replaced rotten studs
- Added a water-blocking membrane
- Painted the house with multiple coats
- Fixed a part of the roof that had fallen completely apart
- Built new crawlspace doors to replace rotten ones
- Added ventilation to the crawlspace
- Dug trenches to route water drainage away from our foundation

Petros did things the right way when it would have been much easier to cut corners, and I felt he went above and beyond to help our house be ready for the winter rains. Petros is trustworthy, good to work with, and delivers high quality results.

Construction Remedy completed a project on our house and rear shed in October 2024. During the past several years our house's south-facing exterior wall with wood siding and three of the exterior engineered wood walls on our rear shed had all developed water damage/dry rot. I sought repair or replacement estimates from three different contractors. And, Petros provided a very reasonable estimate for performing this work. I appreciated that Petros stated he would first perform a demo on our rear shed's exterior wall prior to being able to provide the most accurate estimate for completion of that work.
Petros was very responsive when answering any questions I had and with any specific requests that I made. He was also very helpful when explaining the pros and cons of using different materials or when considering different approaches to solving a particular problem. I appreciate that Petros was always open to taking my preferences, such as type of building materials, paint, etc., into consideration for this project. Petros and his crew worked very effectively and efficiently. They were also very timely when starting work each day. And, I believe that their craftmanship and attention to detail were very good. The finished product looks amazing! I am so glad that we chose to work with Construction Remedy and that our house and shed are now very well protected from any potential water damage from our recent (& future) winter storms. I am very grateful to have worked with Petros and his Construction Remedy team on this project and definitely plan to work with them again on future construction projects!

Construction Remedy is the perfect combination of quality and value! The company is owned by Petros Firas who is both a licensed general contractor and a licensed painting contractor – he previously operated under the name Athens Painting Company (not to be confused with another company Athens Painting & Commercial Coatings). I hired Construction Remedy to paint my house, refinish a redwood deck, and paint some iron railing. I couldn’t be more pleased with the whole experience – fast response to initial inquiry, an extremely reasonable bid within 3 days, used top quality Benjamin Moore paints, excellent work done on schedule and within budget, great communication throughout.

Petros currently has a small crew, does his own estimating and was on the job personally every day. He even does a lot of the work himself, which I think is a great benefit. Because he has a general contractor license, I had confidence in his ability to make some construction repairs in the course of painting my house – removing an old satellite dish and replacing the underlying roofing tiles, installing new window shutters (he was careful to consult with me to make sure the exact placement met my satisfaction). In the course of the painting, Petros also discovered some major dry rot on my porch, and I have signed a separate contract with him to rebuild my porch. I am confident he will do as great a job with that as he has done with the painting. I highly recommend Construction Remedy!

UPDATE (Dec 2025) - Thanks to Construction Remedy, I now have a beautiful new front porch! The entire 9’ x 5.5’ porch was demo’ed and rebuilt, including part of the foundation and five concrete steps. I was very anxious that everything be done right to avoid new problems with dry rot Petros was able to put my mind at ease. He explained his construction plan in detail and was careful to use the right materials to build a strong and durable structure. All the work (except for the iron railing) was done by Petros and his assistant carpenter – framing, concrete, tiling. I feel confident that the construction of my finished porch is sound, and it looks great too!
