Mike and his team replaced our old HVAC system with a new heat pump system. They did a great job. New system is incredibly quiet and efficient.

Although I had made plans in the past to replace my natural gas furnace with an HVAC heat pump, the scarcity and uncertainty of rebates and tax credits made the cost prohibitive. However, when the rebates became available late last year, Mike and Jeff came through in a nick of time with the installation to make it happen for us. Thanks again!

To install HVAC at our unit was very challenging. The unit had to installed on the roof. Alternative HVAC Solutions was very knowledgeable installing the unit. They were prompt and courteous throughout the process. THEY DID A GREAT JOB!

Alternative HVAC provided exemplary installation services for a heat pump HVAC and heat pump water heater each of which replaced units run on fossil fuel. Mike was easy to speak with and established high credibility. The installation crew was efficient and friendly. Both items have performed flawlessly since installation, and our PG&E bills for the winter heating season are lower than past years.

Mike and his team upgraded my gas furnace and ductwork 20 year ago and had serviced my furnace regularly since. During a regular service visit last spring, I asked the technician about heat pump installation and thus initiated the process. Mike visited my house to remind himself of the HVAC set up in my house and proposed a whole house heat pump system. He also informed me of available local green energy rebate and required work and inspection to qualify the rebate. He was open upfront and answered all my questions. The Crew removed the existing gas furnace in my utility room and the AC unit outdoors and installed the indoor air handling system of the heat pump that fit exactly where the gas furnace was. The next day the crew installed the heat pump outdoors where the old AC was, and connected the cooling/heating lines using existing path to the air handler indoors. The third day the crew checked and reconfigured some section of the ductwork in the attic based on my complains about certain part of the house don’t get enough airflow, and tape-sealed the edges around all the registers so that conditioned air does not escape to the attic or the crawl space. The office provided all the necessary paperwork for the required inspection for the rebate and scheduled the inspection. I am very happy with both the process and the outcome of the upgrade of my HVAC to heap pump system. My house is much more evenly heated in winter and cooled in summer, when necessary. All in all, Mike did an excellent job in selecting the heat pump system for my house, and his crew carried out the installation efficiently.

We called Mike because our old radiant heat system was on its last legs and we needed something that would be more reliable and more efficient. Mike did a Manual J analysis to properly size a heat pump system with mini-splits; worked with us to site the compressor in an unobtrusive location within the allowable run limits; installed and tested the system; and helped us qualify for and obtain the applicable state and county incentives. His team was knowledgeable, polite and efficient and the entire installation took just a little over two days. I highly recommend Mike and his team at Alternative HVAC Solutions.

Called in the morning with a leak in one of our bathrooms in the commercial building. They got there within an hours and completely repaired by 1 o’clock. Excellent excellent service theme.

My Mitsubishi mini-split stopped cooling. There was a leak in the unit so I decided to get a new one. Works fine now.

It was a good install of a system that works and fit in the existing space.

Alternative HVAC Solutions installed two Mitsubishi mini-split heat pumps that work superbly. They deliver more than adequate heating and cooling despite large open entry spaces to the rooms. The company was able to find the sweet spot in the design selecting just the right heating and cooling capacity with no unnecessary extra cost. Mike explained that his company emphasizes training and learning which was evidenced not only by the design but by a well executed installation that passed inspection with complements from the inspector. They have the top rating from Mitsubishi which means longer warranties. I highly recommend this company. I couldn't be happier.

Our 80 year old gravity gas furnace was not working, after calling several HVAC companies who no longer worked on these units, I was referred Alternative HVAC in Menlo Park.
