When selecting a General Contractor, it is difficult to truly gauge the quality of service and level of professionalism until the project has started and you've gotten to experience it first hand. It can be an uneasy time as you are putting your trust in someone before you can truly build a strong working relationship. Through my recent experience with Taylor at Shoreline, he put all these fears to rest and exceeded all my expectations from Day 1 for our new build in Capo Beach.

Taylor's strengths shine where you need them the most - Honesty, Timeliness, Communication, Craftsmanship and Budget Control. Taylor consistently had crews and sub-contractors working on the project ensuring that any work that could be done that day, would get done that day. His communication was excellent as he manages expectations, shares ideas and provides timelines when decisions should be made while providing you options and walking through any decision - big and small. He truly puts your best interest before anything, coordinates all aspects of the project from start to finish and goes to bat for you in areas that many GC's would not consider it their responsibility to do so. Additionally, he provides budget updates in an outlined, color coded spreadsheet that helps you visualize the project from inception and adjusts the working budget as the project progresses. One Taylor's qualities we pulled on the most was his eye for craftsmanship and finishing ideas on a variety of project details. Additionally, the Shoreline team is tremendously nice and considerate when working on your project and I could tell they have been empowered to go above and beyond any expectations or last-minute requests I had.

Taylor is passionate about his work and it clearly translates in how he conducted his work and worked with us on our new home.

Taylor and his crew performed a 1-year million dollar remodel for our custom home in San Clemente. In addition to expert execution, Taylor's team brought in some great ideas in addition to our designer/architect. Just as important was his follow-up after the job was complete. Taylor was immediately responsible for any post job details as well. I respect his integrity as a person, and talent as a problem solver contractor. He is honest and fair, and my wife and I would recommend him to anyone, as we have done with our close friends.

Our downtown office building was damaged during heavy rains last winter and desperately in need of dramatic Tenant Improvements and critical upgrades. Shoreline managed to execute a massive undertaking in a very short period of time with great care and consideration to our tenants and neighboring businesses.

He was personally involved from the permit process through final construction. My design was specific and nuanced, and he managed his crew and subs to ensure every detail was build to the spec and design I wanted. I can not say enough positive things about our experience with Taylor and Shoreline Construction. The communication from the initial budget through all phases of construction could not have been better. In addition to the quality of communication the quality of construction was absolutely first class. Our project was a complete rebuild and every aspect of what was done was done to the highest quality and exceeded all of our expectations I would highly recommend Taylor for anyone looking for a top end contractor.

Approximately 5 years ago we hired Shoreline Construction to build our cliff top ocean view Dana Point dream home. Taylor at Shoreline proved to be an excellent choice. We had somewhat of a regrettable relationship with an architect so we had less than ideal set of plans to provide our builder. The plans were missing a considerable amount of detail and information that was critical in building our cliff-top home.

The Dana Point planning department and Coastal Commission were very challenging to put it lightly and Shoreline was very skilled in resolving any and all issues that arose. Shoreline overcame every obstacle presented with a real commitment to excellence and integrity in all areas of our business dealings and in the construction process. They were great to work with and were so eager to help us bring about the best results every step of the way. The most valuable aspect Taylor brought to the process was his ability to recommend changes needed throughout the process which made the final outcome better than I could have ever thought possible. His recommendations were invaluable to the final result. Our home is beautiful and we are so thankful to have worked with Taylor and his team. I don’t leave a lot of reviews and, as a construction defect attorney, am usually involved in projects that did not work out. My experience with Shoreline Construction was exceptional in every respect. Taylor and his team kept us constantly informed about the project and delivered an exceptional result. I could tell that everyone affiliated with Shoreline Construction were real pros – dedicated to excellence, detail-oriented, and creative. Taylor kept us involved in all aspects of the design and construction. Shoreline Construction was totally transparent with the accounting and business end of the job as well. It was not easy turning an otherwise unremarkable Forster Ranch tract home into a modern custom showpiece with a panoramic ocean view, including a new pool and landscape. We would not have done this project with anyone other than Taylor and the team at Shoreline Construction.

I hired Shoreline Construction Inc. to build a new, ground-up restaurant in the heart of San Clemente’s downtown Del Mar district. This project was closely monitored by the City Planning Department and carefully observed by the community, as it was located next to the historic Community Center & Library and marked the first new development on the main street in decades.
Shoreline delivered an exceptional product in a timely and well-organized manner. They were consistently attentive to my budget concerns and found practical ways to incorporate best practices throughout the development. I’m very pleased with how our landmark project turned out. While the team was professional at times, the overall experience felt disorganized. Budget details and changes were not always explained clearly, which led to frustration. I expected better coordination and attention to detail.
