The work they completed for me included:
• Removal of an old electrical panel and installation of a new upgraded panel
• Installation of an air conditioner with its own dedicated circuit
• Installation of a 240V EV charger with a brand-new dedicated circuit

I contacted Marco at New Generation Electrical and Solar to install a solar panel + battery system. I sourced all of the major parts and provided the design myself, so I cannot speak to Marco's design work, but I didn't even have to think about any minor parts (like wires, conduit boxes, panels, etc.), as Marco would already have them ready on the day of the job.

First off, Marco's installation is top-notch, professional, and detail oriented. His work is clean and well-organized as a matter of fact, but he also goes the extra mile to make sure the installation is also something he *likes*, which is always something you want to see. For example, the wires that come with my battery are designed to be connected to the inverter via large bare wire ends. Marco added crimped leads for a prettier, cleaner installation, and this attention to detail and quality has shown up in many other aspects of the install. You can be sure Marco will never perform a sub-par job, as it would drive him crazy first.

Secondly, Marco and his team are professional and easy to work with. While other solar installers are trying to upsell you no matter what you say when you come to them, my first meeting with Marco involved us going up on the roof as he drew out my desired layout, making sure for himself that it was a good plan. When it comes to design requests, like specific locations for parts that better suit your wants, he is always happy to do things the way that you want to do them, even if they are more difficult. That being said, he of course still provides plenty of expertise in case you have several options and want to do what would be the easiest and most maintainable. He is happy to do anything that is a good idea.

Third, Marco is extremely flexible. I had extreme difficulty with my design company and ended up having to do most of the design myself (if you do intend to DIY, just get a freelancer off of the internet - the local companies outsource across the country anyway), so the job was delayed for many months after I first contacted Marco. When we started work, he gladly worked around my schedule (I only have some days free every week), and work progressed at a good rate.

Fourth, Marco prices very fairly. I got many quotes from installers and the final cost of installation was about the same as those quotes in the end, but this included several extra costs for unforeseen difficulties along the way. I'm not sure if other installers bake "buffer room" into their prices and eat these difficulties, but I would suspect they do not and the price would have been more with other installers.

Fifth, Marco used to be a general contractor and this can make your life a lot easier. I had to get some parts of the house removed in order to make space for certain solar parts, and his team did an excellent job cutting, drilling, patching, insulating, plastering, and stucco-ing the house to perfection.

I would say my job was more difficult than the vast majority of solar installations, as my home is very small and involved extra work to make space for solar panels / offsets for permitting reasons. I am very glad I was not with a less reputable installer, and I would be surprised if you had a bad experience with Marco and his team.

We are extremely happy with Marco's work and he is on our speed dial for any electrical work (or even general contracting) we need done, and I am confident in recommending him to anyone I know.
