Wow, Mike and his team are amazing. We had a large project done this year and they were able to transform our mountain home property from a unusable rocky weed field to a beautiful irrigated yard with a patio and fire pit. They built stone steps and path down to our home and made a play area for our son. They really know what they’re doing! I highly recommend!

Mike and his team knocked it out if the park! We needed additional parking next to our driveway that was on a slope I wasn’t sure how this could be accomplished since there was 2 drainage spots that needed to drain and on such a big slope. Mike designed 2 drains where they needed to go and brought in some big rock for a retaining wall. He also incorporated some flag stone steps that look awesome! It works really well and looks way better than expected!

Backus Landscaping completely transformed our front and back yard (xeriscape). Including a beautiful flagstone path and dry river bed. We couldn't have asked for a better result. The crew was always on time and worked very hard. They followed my design perfectly even modifying a little when requested. Would highly recommend.

Michael helped us with designer for our landscaping plan on new home build and did a great job of implementing the plans and installing everything to exactly what we wanted(May 2021). He also replaced a few plants that didn’t survive the winter. Great job!

Michael was a pleasure to work with. I live overseas and wanted a sprinkler system installed at my home in Fort Collins. He gave me a bid and an approximate time of installation depending on weather conditions as it was getting close to wintertime. Normally things a homeowner would have taken care of, such as having a plumber come and install the backflow valve, Michael took care of for us. He contacted a qualified plumber to come to do the work. Michael would communicate with my daughter who is living in our home, about when the workers would be coming and what they would be doing. He also kept in touch with me since I was working overseas. Because it was late in the year (fall) and not a good time to turn the sprinklers on he said they would be out in the spring as soon as weather permitted. I also asked for the design layout of the sprinkler system since I was not at the location of the installation and was unable to see the layout. Michael promptly provided that information. When spring arrived and weather permitted they were out and completed the job. They filled in all the low spots and seeded areas that needed reseeding because of equipment. Several weeks later my daughter sent me before and after pictures of the yard and I was amazed at the difference. She also said it was the greenest lawn in the cul de sac. Michael is a true professional and did everything he said he would and personally came out to check to make sure things were working well. I highly recommend him for any yard work or design that needs to be done.

From start to finish, Backes Landscaping showed up, listened, and provided top-quality design ideas and installation at great value for my xeriscaped garden and firepit area. I was impressed by how quickly the transformation took place, and by Michael’s follow-up to ensure that I was happy. Without hesitation, I would hire Backes Landscaping again!

When other places didn't listen to what we wanted, and said they could not give me an estimate until after they had started work, Michael at Backes Landscaping listened carefully to my wife and me, and did exactly what we had envisioned, and it was even better than we had hoped for. Michael listened to what we wanted, was happy to do some changes we were thinking of, and was happy to use a little of our existing landscaping materials in order to save us a little money. The final bill was even a little less than the estimate. Can't recommend Backes Landscaping enough. We will give him a call when we want to do the backyard.

Michael and his team were absolutely great. They did a large yard with a water feature, small patio, sod, tons of plantings, and rock and mulch borders. They were always on time and the work is top notch. Carl and Michael are excellent communicators and problem solvers, great at answering questions, and they made sure we understood their process every step of the way. Their crew is polite, hard-working, and respectful. The job could not possibly have gone any better!

Backes did a great job of completely renewing our front lawn. They were thorough, efficient & professional.

They worked long hours to complete it. Then told us how to maintain the new sod.

It looks green & thick.
