Just wish to share with the people in the subdivisions complaining the waste landfill. That landfill has been there for years and years. It's a construction landfill yet expected not to smell like roses. There were no housing communities around yet somehow builders felt that this large empty piece of land next to it would be a financial opportunity to build some houses. Garbage we will always need to get rid of. Why would anyone think the landfill would suddenly disappear cause I chose to buy a house? Before you buy a home, do your homework.

Update: Today I received a follow up call from the local office manager for Progressive Waste Solutions. He has assured me that he is personally working to resolve my issue and has provided me his direct contact information in the event that I encounter a similar situation in the future. Furthermore, he has committed to working within his team to ensure that customers like myself do not have the same experience I have had. I am encouraged by the resolution and felt his approach was both genuine and representative of the type of customer service that I was expecting. Thank you

I have only had the unfortunate experience of having Progressive Waste Solutions as my service provider for the past 4 months since I moved my family to Lithia, FL. We have a very simple system, I put my bins at the curb the night before a pickup and the next day at some point it gets emptied and I pull the bin back to the house the next evening. Except, when on 2 occasions in the last 90 days, my recycling bin which is picked up on Thursdays was left full, while only the Trash bin was emptied. This is problematic as the recycling (which we use more than actual trash) is only picked up once per week rather than twice a week like trash. A missed pick up means it will be 2 full weeks until it is emptied. Now, I understand that mistakes are made occasionally, but what I am taking issue with is the absolute and total lack of customer service when we call Progressive to alert them of the problem. The front line people that answer the phone when we call show absolutely no concern for the issue and even told my wife that their records show our bin was not at the curb. We have a simple routine, and we roll 2 bins to the street at the same time, and in both incidents the trash was emptied and the recycling bin was left full. If it was a situation where we "forgot" to put the bin at the curb, both bins would have been missed, not just the recycling. After arguing with my wife for several minutes, the "resolution" was to promise to have the bin picked up within 48 hours. In both incidents, the bin sat there at our curb, and after waiting for 48 hours, the bin still remains full at the curb. In the current incident, we called on Monday and asked to speak with a supervisor, and we specifically asked to be connected to a live person, but no, we got "Steve's" voice mail. My wife left a message, angry that she wasn't given any type of courtesy or respect for her request. To add insult to injury, 2 days later and Steve has not bothered to call her back, nor has our issue been resolved. Today, she called again to report that the bin is still sitting there, and now it is scheduled to be picked up again tomorrow, and it is overflowing. She eventually asked to again to speak to a live person who is in the office to take calls, and again she was put through to Steve's voicemail. I am guessing that Steve won't be calling her back, after all why would we expect different results when our concerns have been completely ignored and we have been made to feel unimportant and not worthy of even a simple apology or a returned phone call. The notion that it is somehow OKAY that customer service is not what it used to be, is something I do not subscribe to. In fact, with the progress made to technology and real time communication, service should be exponentially better. Unfortunately, all the progress and technology in the world can't overcome PEOPLE that have no concern for the customers concerns. And what recourse do we have? Nothing, because the charges for the service are rolled right into your property taxes so they get paid regardless of their bad service and until their contract is up, the neighborhoods they service are stuck with their incompetence. I sincerely hope that someone, anyone, that has even the tiniest shred of the concept of customer relations and has any desire to rectify a small issue that could have been resolved with a simple follow up, will address our issue and more importantly, change their procedures so that this does NOT continue.

No sure why this place has bad reviews. The people working the place are nice and your in and out fast. Only reason for not 5 stars is because you have to drive over a lot trash when you go to dump. Lots of metal and debris sticking up that could damage your vehicle or tires. Wish they had a clean concrete pad area to dump like ECO locations.

Very restrictive dumping. Essentially only construction/demolition waste allowed. (Stone, wood, steel and other materials). Appliances, furniture, fixtures are seemingly not allowed. Should not be appearing under "Dump near me" Google search.

whoever is driving the truck in Tropical Acres needs to slow down he is grabbing the can taking off with it and dropping it 6 foot away from where he got it. south side of Rhodine rd.

They need to do something about this landfill, I'm tired of looking at it everytime I look out my window

Beyond rude when calling to ask a simple question. I don’t understand how a business can be this unprofessional on the phone.

Horrible, can't come on the days their supposed to, you complain and they tell you they don't have to get your trash. But you still have to pay. Don't move anywhere these incomplete fools work.

They are terrible they do not pick up yard waste every week and when they do they travel 70 mph and skip half the houses. If they drop glass they move on you pick it up.

Seriously?? This is the second time now that they driven through the neighborhood blaring their horns and announcing they're coming through. Unbelievably rude. When anyone goes outside of their home due to the noise, they throw their hands into the air and make disgusting gestures. Absolutely unprofessional and unnecessary. I CANNOT believe these workers act as they do.

This service sucks point blank don't waste your time or money, they are unreliable and lazy. They will skip your pick up date and also will not even pick up bagged up yard work. I am 5'2 if I can bring my trash to the curb I would think a mechanical hand and 2 men can handle a heavy trash can. But they can't they will just skip your pick up and any other trash you have out to the curb as well. I put the same trash they skipped in front of my neighbors house for Waste Management and they picked it up without question. Please don't waste your money on this company, total joke.

Apparently my 51 year old father with a knee replacement and two hip replacements can pick up these bags up and put them on the curb but the boys on the truck can't handle it.

The house sat empty from November to mid-march when we bought it and they were far below 50 lb. I'd love to see the scale you carry on the truck with you LOL!

Thanks for welcoming us to the neighborhood.

The service is amazingly bad. It's almost like that is their goal. From the first time I called them when I moved in to request a larger can than the baby can they gave me. It always seems to be a battle of wills. They seem determined to give bad service and I am determined to get good service. 3 Phone calls and a week later since they missed the first pick up the bags are still there. I have decided to help them to be a better company. I intend to take my complaints up the corporate ladder as far as I can go. I am sure they will thank me one day for making them a better company. At least the ones who still have jobs.

Would like them to close… or at least not work with beeping vehicles at the crack to dawn.

Unfortunately, the builder didn't warn us that we were building our new home near a dump. The stench that comes from this place is horrific and I'm sure it's poisoning the ground because the water smells horrific. There goes our property value and our health.
