I have known Rick Bell for almost 20 years. Originally the relationship started when he hired me to sell a vacant lot in Southwest Ranches. That sale helped put me on the radar and ultimately they rewarded me by making me Director of Sales for Landmark Ranch Estates, a premier gated community for UHNW families looking for privacy and acreage.

During that time, they also agreed to help renovate my personal home. The home was an original build from 1978 and it needed to be modernized. With their guidance and oversight, the renovations were completed in early 2014. Fast forward to 2025 and with our kids out of the nest, we decided it was time to try something new.

During the sales process, the lien search noted that there were open/expired permits dating back to the time when the renovations were done. While I hadn’t worked for Landmark for a few years, I called Rick and we picked up where we left off. Same humble guy, building 20,000sf houses. I explained the situation and that these open/expired permits were holding up the sale.

My home is 3,300sf with an original build date of 1978. It is NOT the 10, 20, and 30 million dollar homes he builds and sells. However, in typical Rick Bell fashion, he handled it. He looked back at records he had from 12 years prior, made calls to the Town of Southwest Ranches, coordinated re-inspections and helped me close them out in quick fashion.

You want to think most people would do that, but I think we all know that most wouldn’t (at least not with that sense of urgency). This is what you get when you hire Landmark Custom Homes. They are great builders and better people. Makes for a nice combination in the business world. Thank you Rick!

I have been in Professional Construction Management for a number of decades as well as a university professor in the field of construction management. I first had the pleasure of meeting Rick Bell of Landmark Custom Homes in 2018 while we were assembling an all-star team for a client for the construction of a very high end luxury super home resort. Rick and his team were on board from the beginning providing much needed pre-construction services in all the areas that matter including, pre-site analysis and site management plans, AHJ consultations, design to budget cost analysis and recommendations on cost saving opportunities. Moreover Rick did this project in a Cost Plus Fixed fee/fixed general conditions form of agreement often termed GMP. This provided much needed transparency to a discerning construction savvy owner.
Later during construction Rick and his team performed extremely well through several years of heavy construction. This included managing the supply chain issues at the time, construction cost price escalation issues, manpower shortages, as well as others. Rick and his team were always spot on the issues and at all times professional, courteous, and conscientious. What impressed me the most was their attention to the details and extremely tight design tolerances this home called for. I am looking forward to working with Rick at Landmark Custom Homes again.
