Murphy Marine Electric completed a SUBSTANTIAL makeover on my 2004 Mako 252cc during summer 2025. This was a full redo - not a small project by any means. If you know anything about this generation of Mako, it’s that they are a wiring nightmare. So bad that it was almost funny - the underside of the console looked like a giant birds nest (look at the pictures). Following the completion of the Suzuki repower, the Mako went to Alex’s shop and was fully deconstructed - all wiring throughout the boat was ripped out, all electronics, pumps, etc. - the boat was a compete shell/blank canvas.

We added all new wiring throughout that is labeled and thus very easy to work on, a custom access panel/hatch so that every wire under the console is now easily accessible from inside the console, new Garmin electronics, a massive JL audio system, new batteries (and a 4th battery to support the JLs), electric reel outlet, spreader lights, nav lights, Taco outrigger bases with 22ft outriggers, new interior lighting, a fully custom acrylic dash, Gemlux cup holders and rod/cup holder combos, new fresh water pump and 15 gal. Fresh water tank, redundant bilge pumps with float switches, thru-hull transducer, etc. The list goes on. The whole idea was to build a boat that could fish hard and also be fun at the sandbar. It’s been to the Bahamas 5 times since August and feels and looks like an entirely new boat. People are always commenting on the boat and I’m extremely proud of it.

As any experienced boater knows, the projects are ongoing. Alex has been extremely supportive in coordinating warranty work with Garmin and JL and he also was very responsive/attentive to a few tweaks we needed to make when we splashed the boat last summer (which, btw, required Alex to work on the boat on a Saturday) and then about 1 month later after I put approx 100 hours on the boat and had a better understanding on what else needed adjustment. I am very particular and Alex was patient and worked with me throughout the process.

Before undertaking this project, I shopped around quite a bit in the Stuart, fort Pierce, and Palm beach areas. I am very happy with my decision. This Mako has been in my family for more than 15 years and I really appreciate the work Alex and his team did. It’s more than a boat to me and it will never be sold.

Chased a hard starting outboard for a year. Changed batteries, starter, fuses and battery switches and still could not find the problem. Alex had it diagnosed and repaired in 1 hour. Wish I would have called him right away.No one else has worked on my 30' Grady White ever since and there is no one else I would trust. Call him if you need anything.

After working with three different mechanics and marine electricians spending $1500 or more trying to solve an issue with my transducer, Alex diagnosed and fixed the problem in 2 hours. One of the best around. He no longer does work on houses, but I used him a great deal at my house, also.

Called Alex as the AC side of my electrical panel had stopped working. This means no air conditioning and it's September. Alex went out of his way to come to my boat and get things working again. I am following up with him later to redo my wiring properly. Great experience, would recommend Murphy Marine Electric to anyone with electrical needs.

FANTASTIC SERVICE! We spoke with Alex about not getting power from the helm to the motor of our boat. He said it could be 1 of 4 things before even laying eyes on the boat. We made an appointment for him to take a look at it. We showed up, he got right to work and he started ruling everything out. Next thing you know, he found our issue, fixed the piece as well as cleaned up our battery selection switch that another company had installed. He went above and beyond from what he had to do to make sure the issue would not happen again. I will only be using Alex for my electrical issue from here on out! I would give 10 stars if I had the ability to! Thanks again for your help!

Alex did an amazing job changing my batteries. After a problem with a short in one of the batteries, Alex came out the next morning and helped resolve the issue. Super fast service and very professional. I can highly recommend him for any project.

Dealing with Alex and his tech Dominick has been a fantastic. He's easy to communicate with. Work is done timely. We have a working dive boat and he has been super accomodating with working around the boat schedule to keep us running. Have a few more rewiring projects this summer and I won't be going anywhere else. Def the company to call.

Review your bills carefully. I got charged for six hours of work when it was really only three hours. Fortunately, I had receipts and was able to get the invoice fixed.
