Taylor was great! He came through and answered all questions and didn’t overlook anything. He was very communicative before during and after the process. I’d definitely recommended these guys for an affordable , thorough inspection!

I have to say we were nervous about purchasing a historic home in Candler Park but Dan made us feel educated & informed of the risks/things to be aware of. Dan was thoughtful, detailed, and quite frankly fun to do a home inspection with. Wouldn't go with anyone else, especially for local knowledge of the older homes in Candler Park, Cabbagetown, Highlands, etc

Construction is complex. Through the expertise of Dan 's inspections at specified time intervals, he (along with his colleague reference base) ensured the contractor was 'up to par' on all aspects of materials and proper installation. Highly value Dan & thank you for seeing my dream become a solid, well built reality!!

Dan is a fantastic inspector who really pays attention to detail and works with you to point out everything you need to know about a home you are purchasing. One thing that I feel sets Dan apart is his focus on pointing out energy inefficiencies that can improve the comfort and cost of owning a home as well.

Y'all, I cannot tell you HOW AWESOME Dan Curl with Comprehensive Home Inspections is. He has done two inspections for us - one in 2014 (the 1945 City of Decatur house in which we lived at that time, which we had hoped to renovate) and in 2017 (the 1937 City of Decatur house into which we ultimately moved).
Dan has lived in Lake Claire in Intown Atlanta for 30 or so years. He was an American Studies major in college. He loves history and houses. He somehow knows *everything* there is to know about building science, from the "olden days" to now. It was like he was born to do this job. He LOVES it, and nothing escapes his watchful eye. He's like a house detective. He talks into a recorder to capture everything, and it all makes it into the final report. (And oh, his prices are beyond reasonable. Low overhead b/c it's mainly him, and a sweet woman who helps with scheduling.)
Finally, Dan is a CHARACTER. I have told him he should be the inspector on "This Old House" - or that he should have his own show! People would seriously watch him on TV and enjoy every minute of it. People who are interested in houses and their details, that is!
I would never hire any other inspector. Dan is truly one of a kind. -
I've worked with Dan on several properties including my own. He's an extremely knowledgeable straight shooter. When you hire him he works with your best interest in mind - not the lender, the realtor or anyone else. Even as a long time real estate investor he often catches things I overlooked. Great home inspector.

Dan inspected our home on 7/11/19. He was very professional and very thorough. I very much appreciate him taking the time to explain the method to his madness lol. He explained codes and pointed out things I would have never caught. We are very thankful and would highly recommend his services.

I was in the process of buying my first home and feeling nervous about committing to purchase a place I felt I didn't know much about when I called Dan Curl. He went over the entire place to check everything was sound. Not only did he verify that everything was as it should be, but explained to me each piece of my home and made me familiar with how everything was put together. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Dan and would recommend him to anyone looking for a home inspector!

Mr Taylor's inspection saved me from an expensive mistake. I asked Mr Taylor to be in my shoes and his work/report shows the care and commitment he has for his work. He was able to do an inspection in record time and produce a report in 24 hours! One important point: he also understood the anxiety of a homebuyer and provided his objective assessment. Highly recommend his service.

Like me, if you're looking for the best quality at the best price, you've probably prepared yourself to call multiple home inspection companies, and come up with a spreadsheet of who offers what and which combination of factors works best. You can certainly do your homework, but when I did, I ended up deciding to go with Dan's company. Not only is he very personable (thanks for sharing stories of your family and adventures, Dan!) and not only does he truly enjoy his craft, he's excellent at the details and prepared the thorough report in a way that was very simple to understand. On the first page, he tells you the urgent fixes, the recommended fixes, and things you can get away with not fixing immediately.
In my case, he not only completed my report on a major holiday (July 4th) to help me make a decision at the end of my due diligence period, he also came back to the house nearly a month later to point out the highlights of his report to me and any possible repair crew so that the house could be fixed to the highest level of excellence. You really can't beat that level of customer service.
Dan, thank you. I hope to work with you in the future. -
Special thanks to Comprehensive Home Inspections for helping me with my house issues. I've hired them a few times; the first for my pre-purchase home inspection, and then for a consultation on some renovations I was considering. When it comes to major projects it's reassuring to get practical advice from a neutral consultant, and Dan and Taylor provided invaluable assistance recommending the best course of action. I'd give them six stars if I could.

Dan did a very thorough inspection of the house that my fiance and I are buying. We really appreciated his overview of the house and answering all of our questions in detail. The report he prepared was delivered ahead of schedule and was extremely thorough. Really appreciate his work!

10 out of 10 would use again. Taylor came promptly to inspect a 70 year old home I was considering buying. He left no stone unturned and provided great feedback at every turn of his inspection. Very pleased with his work. Also, he is a very easy person to work with and really gives you his undivided attention.

I highly recommend the inspector services of Dan Curl. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and willing to share his knowledge with his clients. He really helped me to learn the story of my home and the information he provided through his comprehensive inspection has made me a well-informed homeowner positioned to optimize the value of my home. I couldn't recommend him more highly...if you need a home inspection, call Dan Curl. You won't regret it!!

Dan had an inspection on my house years ago. Recently I had time to see him inspecting houses. With his deep knowledge and experience he tried to provide as much information as possible to homeowners during a limited time of inspection, including recommendations for a long term improvement based on the building science principles. I would have him again when I purchase my next home.

Was concerned about the property and asked Taylor to keep an eye out - he walked me through what extra inspection was necessary and what was extremely low risk - for example, it had a new PVC sewer line so he recommended against scoping. He answered all of my questions, and his report was amazing - very thorough, great pictures, very, very clear explanations and recommendations that I could follow despite not knowing the ins and outs of the systems. This guy is amazing.

I cannot speak highly enough about Dan Curl. As a first-time home buyer, I didn't really know what to expect but he made the home inspection process so easy. Dan is extremely thorough and makes sure to go over absolutely every detail with you so you have a complete understanding of his findings. You definitely want to hire Dan!

Taylor was the best home inspector I’ve used. A few traits that make him so; He is Thorough, patient and technically overqualified. He addressed all my concerns during the inspection and gave a detailed report that is easy to digest. Thanks !

We are first time home buyers. The nightmares we've heard from people having below average home inspections during their purchase of a home were in the forefront of our minds as we were moving forward. We went to close friends, acquaintances, and our real estate agent for references for home inspections. We got the names of 5 different inspectors. Of the 5, Dan was the only one with consistently great reviews. It kind of hurt me not to listen to our closest friends as the referral for Dan came from someone else. But, I listened to the reviews and I listened to my gut. We were not disappointed. Dan wasn't able to do the inspection himself; Dan's partner did. BUT, Dan spent 90 minutes with us on the phone (due to Covid19) going page by page and item by item in the report, adding explanations to exactly what things required immediate attention, what things we would need to keep an eye on, and what steps we could take for future investment in our new home. He was careful to check in and make sure he was not talking down to us. He answered all questions patiently and honestly. This being our only home inspection experience, we still had no idea if Dan was really good or if this was the average experience. I clearly remember telling friends that part of our negotiation in closing included the seller replacing the brand new fridge due to a crack found in the freezer wall discovered by our inspector. The consistent response was, "He opened the fridge as part of the inspection? Jeez that's thorough." Our real estate agent has added Dan to his list of referrals for future clients. Dan also is very committed to providing advice for future measures we can take to ensure a more energy efficient home. ALL OF THIS BEING SAID, please know, there were moments that Dan honestly owned when he didn't know something -- (there are 3 light switches that we have no idea what they're connected to -- probably somebody's house on the opposite side of the globe) but Dan honestly said, We have no idea. You'll have to get an electrician to figure that out.
We moved in 3 weeks ago and have made our way through his inspection report as a checklist on how to care for our home. I can't tell you how grateful I am that he was our first home inspector. -
What a wonderful experience with Comprehensive Home Inspections! Taylor went through the home meticulously and conveyed all findings to us in a manner in which we understood. He took the time to explain what needed to be repaired immediately and offered business referrals to remediate such issues. I recommend without hesitation!
