I wanted to get work done on my kitchen to expand it because I love cooking and spend most of my time in the kitchen. Everything ended up coming out amazing, from the design of the remodel, to the expanded pantry. I couldn't be happier with how it went to decide on everything, to how long it at took to finish.

There was a leak from an adjoining unit, Brandon came by & detected moisture in my unit. They quickly dried out area & reconstructed it back to normal. Patrick did great work, very thorough & professional. Brandon returned to do a final inspection. It was an unfortunate situation but I’m happy with the results!

Hands down best on the island. I can't say enough about these guys. From the start they helped me match my project to my budget without sacrificing the finish I was looking for. The materials used were quality leaving me with a beautiful shower for years to come.

I came back from house sitting for a month to find my guest bathroom with waste water leaking through the tile surround, wall, ceiling, and light fixture. Kaipo from Island Restoration responded promptly and was able to remediate the issue. They coordinated with multiple floors and units to fix the issue. They were on time, professional, courteous, and clean. Because they were so quick on the job and explained things well, they resolved the issue quickly and before it became a much larger problem.

On 19Oct22 the men of Island Residential Services completed very beautiful work at our home (see attached photo).

Master Carpenter (Marlon) is 45 days new to Hawai'i. Here something we found about Marlon early on in our build. When Marlon has his earbuds in, leave him alone and prepared to be amazed. His work is nothing short of what I consider master class execution. Razor sharp with clean lines, rock solid framing, and near perfect 90-degree angles. Marlon was always on time to the job site, dressed appropriately in company uniform, and very respectful. We are having more work done to our house and we are requesting Marlon to do the work. If you have the privilege of Marlon working on your house and you feel like buying him lunch for the awesome work, his is sure to do. L&L bbq mixed plate is the only way to go. He was absolutely blown away with their food. Also, put some water in the fridge for Marlon. This dude drinks lots of water when he's working.

Mad Scientist (Sean) owns Island Residential Services. From the beginning to the end of the process, Sean was very involved. His attention to detail was clearly evident during the planning process as Sean meticulously took measurements, developed architect level drafts, and scribed the end state on the wall for a more accurate visual. He was involved throughout the process ensuring quality or work, cleanliness/organization of the jobsite, and ensured the project was on schedule. Before securing Island Residential Services under contract, we spoke with other contractors as any homeowner should. Long story short, had my wife and I not done more independent research, we would have been ripped off and that is not a BS story. Sean came in extremely honest with his approach while refusing to sugarcoat any part of the build, products, or cost.

Sean and his crew were great! They used quality to replace the stairs and railing to the back entrance of our house, that was wearing out and becoming a hazard. They were professional and had great customer service. They answered all of my parent’s questions about the process and were timely in the completion of the project. Amazing work! My husband and I were having some trouble installing some flooring, so we decided to seek a professional. Island Residential was referred to us so we called for a quote . They were quick to respond and gave us a quote within a few days. We have decided to stop proceedings with Home Depot for our countertops so we could go through Island Residential instead which was a lot quicker and cost effective. Overall we have been very pleased with their work and will use them again for future home improvement projects that require professionals!

After another contractor abandoned the job site, Island Residential Services swooped in to the rescue. They worked with me to find a time and day to complete the job for my window A/C installation, and brought the muscle requested to complete it correctly the first time. The contractors worked quickly, didn’t need supervision or hand holding, and made sure the unit looked nice as well once installed. This made my life a lot easier while my spouse is deployed to ensure this job got done right the first time. They even carried away the broken A/C unit for disposal. The price was reasonable for the work performed and the number of people on site.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME group of professionals and GREAT quality work. We experienced a kitchen fire called a number of contractors and we felt they were trying to rip us off but when Brandon came over they were very forthright and thorough in there assessment which earned my instant trust. My kitchen now looks good as new . I can’t recommend them enough.

The best remodel and renovation contractors on O'ahu! I've been in the trades and real estate here for 20+ years, so I've worked with a LOT.

They recently completed a couple weeks worth of work at my condo in Kaneohe, it was a great experience and they did great work from beginning to end. Knowing the industry so well, I know the stereotypical "problems" with contractors. So for most people, it's the simple things... like:

THEY ANSWER THEIR PHONE

Forreal people, if you call them, they will answer the phone.

I know it might seem crazy to highlight this so much, shouldn't every company answer their phone and return calls ASAP?! Of course they should. But if you've ever worked with any tradesperson or contractor before, you know that's not always the case... sadly, it's very rarely the case actually.

EVEN AFTER THEY START WORKING

Yes, trying to get a bid from someone who's not responsive sucks. But even worse is hiring them, then they stop answering calls midway through a job.

Everyone on the Island team is super professional and on top of communication with us throughout our entire project. From Sean the owner, to Luke and the pros in the field, to Arnold and the team in the office.

If ever there was a question or change, the proper person contacted me in a timely manner, and it was quickly taken care of. A well oiled machine indeed, which translated into high quality work and a smooth process for us, the homeowner.

They did work in every room in our house, and some outside, and everything was done super quality, with clean work areas and great cleanup after.

Ours wasn't a full remodel, we're doing it in portions, but we will definitely be bringing them in for all our future projects, at the condo and our new house.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Island Residential for my kitchen renovation. The team worked tirelessly to update my circa 1970s kitchen to a sleek, modern cooking space with all the amenities you'd expect in the 2020s. From Brandon's first visit to my apartment for the initial assessment to Marllon and Adam's punctual and daily hands-on work, Sean's crew carried themselves with the utmost professionalism throughout the process.

What really impressed me by this contractor team was their communication. Not only did they always make time to take my calls/texts for any questions I had, but during the renovation, if anything came up, they immediately contacted me. This type of communication is rare these days as I've tried working with other contractors in the past who rarely answered my basic questions.

I should also note that my project is probably considered a small project (1bd, 1br apartment). I know many contractors do not take small projects, preferring to work larger, more profitable jobs, but Island Residential always made me feel like my renovation goals were their top priority!

In terms of cost, renovations in Hawai'i aren't cheap, however, Island Residential was very transparent in their prices, and did everything they could to keep my project exactly in the budget I wanted.

We did a two phase remodel, the first of which was in anticipation of our coming to HI to retire. Sean was recommended by our property manager. We were doing this during a pandemic, from 2500 miles away, learning very quickly how limited decorator choices were on island.

Like another reviewer stated, Sean was amazing. He would send texts with videos, comparisons, suggestions not only for materials but having worked in other units in our development, suggested upgrades and changes he'd done or seen that we frankly wouldn't have thought to do. These were truly suggestions, not an up sale because some weren't in his favor.

He finished on time and it was pretty darn perfect when we arrived.

A month later we attacked the kitchen. Sean again rose to the occasion, getting the job done under the estimated time and we absolutely love it, it's better than we ever thought it could be.

We would not hesitate to call Island Residential again.

Island Residential was an absolute pleasure to work with. First of all, it took me over nine months to find the right contractor to work with, as I was specifically looking for someone who is willing to listen to what my ideas were, as well as use their expertise to come to a great decision on a plan. I did a kitchen and a half bath remodel, which spanned from flooring, to paint, to new cabinetry, light fixtures and countertops. Sean and Brandon have done a great job of listening and executing. No construction project is without its hiccups, but I felt like I was always in communication with the team to understand what the possible solutions were available to me. This company is nothing short of amazing.
Brandon, Patrick, and Sean showed up to my home not even an hour after I called for an emergency mitigation from a water pipe leaking in my home. They went to work immediately and explained every step of the process to me to make sure I was comfortable with everything. Brandon especially gave me great advice as to how I should approach my insurance as well as other advice to make sure I didn't get the short end of the stick. They didn't need to go the extra mile but they did. They came back several times afterwards to make sure everything was going well even after the emergency services. Really made me feel like family. I highly recommend 👌
