We were very happy with the work done by Brad and his crew. We had floor finished with the UV coating and love the look and feel and hardness of the coating. Brad and his crew were professional and a pleasure to have working in our home. We have already recommended A-max to friends and will do so in the future without hesitation.

We had our 11 year old floors stained and refinished at the same time added a new addition by replacing the carpet with hardwood down the hallway. A-max team did a great job on the install and tied the hallway and kitchen in perfectly. I trusted the friendly crew in my house while at work and knowing that they were not sub contractors but employees of A-max set my mind at ease.
One of the major reasons we selected A-max was the chemical product they use allowed my family and I to stay at home at night and keep our food in the house. Other companies I contacted use harsh chemical products that home evacuation is needed up to 48 hours and remove all food items . This is another money saver by allowing my family to stay home instead of finding a hotel.

I own a duplex in Boise and one of the unit's previous tenants destroyed the hardwood floors. I did not even think they were repairable. Luckily i found this company and they helped me a lot. I live in California, so flying out there and dealing with stuff is difficult. The guys at A max went to the place took pictures and sent me a quote. I did fly out once, but only once! After they were done, the floors looked like new. Very impressed by their responsiveness and quality of work. They were fair with their pricing and I will definitely be using them in the future!! GREAT WORK!

My experience with a-maxhardwood was great!
I had existing hardwoods in my kitchen and dining room and wanted to continue them into my main living area and stairs leading up to my loft. Tyson came out and told me how they would be able to match the floors with no problem, and they did! I chose to leave my house while the work was done. When I got home I walked into what I can only say was breathtaking. Everyday I smile and am so pleased with the job that Eli and Allen did!

Tyson, Eli, Justin, Todd and Jenna did a fantastic job on our hardwood floors. They look beautiful! This is the second time we have had them do work for us and we were pleased with the results both times. We continue to recommend A-Max to all of our family and friends. Thanks A-Max! Victor &Tammie

I needed to have some repair work done to my current hardwood floor as well as having it refinished. At the same time I had new hardwood put in the master bedroom, replacing carpet. All the work done was awesome...it looks beautiful; I've received comments from family and friends on how nice it looks. These guys are all easy to work with, very knowledgeable, and friendly - from getting the estimate to finishing the job. I would definitely hire them again for any future work!

A-Max did an unbelievable job refinishing our wood floors! The maple was orange from sun damage and very scratched up. Eli transformed our floors! I've had several people comment that they can't believe they are the same floors. Eli was very professional and thorough. I can't recommend these guys enough! This was, hands down, one of the most worthwhile home improvement projects we've had done.

We needed to refinish our wood floors in the living room and bedroom plus closet. We got a quick estimate and dates work would be completed and what would be done to refinish the floors. Tyson was the person organizing the schedule and Eli did the work. All went very smoothly. Floors look very nice. I would highly recommend them.

Andy and his A-Max crew did a great job. Our house was built in 1949 and had the original oak wood floors under 70s shag carpet. Some of the wood had a little water damage but they were able to sand those sections down a little more aggressively and they turned out beautiful. In addition there was a few sections that had up to nearly a 1/4" gap between boards. They worked their butts off to get those spots filled in and we can't even tell there was ever any gaps. The A-Max crew made our nearly 65 year old wood look gorgeous. The crew was friendly and humorous to be around and did quality work. Definitely would recommend A-Max to those looking to redo their hardwood floors. You will not be disappointed.

We had our 10 year old floors refinished last month, and they look brand new. We chose to have the floors done while we were out of town, and my neighbor who opened our home for the crew said they were extremely professional. Communication has been great - I received a prompt response with every email, phone call, and text. The quote that was emailed to me was the price we paid, no additional fees or costs. Will definitely use A-Max again.

The A-Max crew did a great job refinishing our 16 year old hardwood floor. They were prompt, clean and efficient and the finish was amazing. To top things off they didn't even make fun of me for ruining the finish when moving the refrigerator back and their subsequent repair work looked as good as the original finish.

My wife wanted to redo our kitchen floor and one other room. She got quotes from three companies. I think A-Max was a little more than the cheapest, but we did not have to leave our home or board our dogs while the floor dried with the nasty smelling varnish that was harmful to breath. (I am assuming this since we would have had to leave the house for two or three days.)

A-Max came in on time, did most of the work on day one, and came back to do the finish work on day two. There was no nasty odor in the house and we could actually walk, in stocking feet, on the floor after day one. We moved the furniture back into the house on the morning of day 3 and my wife keeps bumping her head on the ceiling. She keeps asking me if I like it, and even if I did not I would never dare say so as she is just high as a kite with how much nicer our floor looks.

Since we did not have to leave the house, the money saved on hotels more than made up for the slight difference in the price, and the fact that our home never smelled harsh is huge to both my wife and me.

The floors are beautiful and the fact that they dry and harden the coating on the floors with some kind of light meant I could have moved the furniture back into the rooms when I got home from work on day two. We chose to have professionals do it so that I did not have to worry about scratching the floors.

Nice job A-Max. And thank you to our friends who recommended you to us. We will be doing the same for our friends that need this type of work.

My husband and I recently used A-Max hardwood to restore the original flooring in our 40's bungalow and match it with new hardwood in the kitchen. The entire process, from start to finish, was extremely seamless and efficient. We were in a time crunch and A-Max was able to fit us into their busy schedule. Tyson met us right away for a quote and even got wood into our house the same day to acclimate before install. During install, Jake and Bryan were extremely detail oriented and took time to explain the entire process and check-in with us during the refinishing to make sure we were satisfied. They even took pictures for us throughout each stage. I will definitely use A-Max again in the future and highly recommend them!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This company treated us like family from the free estimate all the way til when everything was done. They listened, they were considerate, fast, and efficient. Everything from the scheduling to the quote was flawless and exactly as they said it would go. We had glossy orange-ish hardwood floors that had been seriously messed up by some cats from the previous owners. Once they came in the floors looked brand NEW! They took out out the orange tones and put down a matte finish and our floors couldn't be prettier. This is prettier than any floor I've ever seen and it's in my HOUSE! We love these guys. They were able to deliver the most amazing service I've received in my life. I'm looking for excuses to hire these guys just because it was such an amazing experience. And their prices are lower than what we got at other places. Unbelievable!

Nothing but positive things to say about our experience. We used A-Max for our second remodel which we are doing ourselves. The team was incredibly responsive and fit us in quickly. They had the most aggressive bid and delivered superior quality compared to the first floors we had done. Most of all, they constantly communicated and I felt very comfortable with the staff they had in our house, great team.

Very responsive company. They showed up when they said they would and we're done before they said they would! We chose the UV cured option. Best decision we could have made. We were on our floors the next day (furniture, dog, etc)! If you are considering refinishing your floors I highly recommend A-Max and the UV cured option. Our floors were not only done in a day and a half, they were done professionally. There was a lot of discoloration from the sun on the existing floor. A-Max was able to get all of it out and restore them to the original color. Very happy with the finished product.

I am very, very pleased with the quality of workmanship from A-Max Hardwood. They arrived on time and completed all but the last coat on the first day. They returned the following day to finish the third coat on the floors. We had the UV cured treatment instead of the water sealer because we wanted the stronger and immediate curing finish, without the smell or without having to spend the night out of the home. As promised, there was hardly any smell or dust. In addition, they were running a special on the UV treatment and we were quoted the same price as what the water sealer would cost, which made the decision that much easier.

The floors look amazing! I am very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend A-Max Floors to anyone. Thank you!

On Time. On Budget. Exceeds Expectation. 14 years ago we built our dream home and 11 years ago we moved East for work leaving our house in the hands of renters of all sorts. A month ago we started the process of moving back into our dream home but the floors needed serious help. Between dogs, birds, and bicycles doing all kinds of things to our carpets and Brazilian cherry we decided to replace carpet in 5 rooms with more Brazilian cherry and refinish what was there. Budgets and schedule were very tight.

Amazingly the A-Max guys, all of them, are quite talented and skilled in both floor installation and refinishing as well as running a business. I knew the status the entire time even though my family was driving across the country.

Most importantly of all - no excuses and an amazing commitment to do what is right. When the last coat didn't come out quite right - the A-Max crew made the decision to do it over completely before we even saw it - while still keeping to the tight schedule. When my wife noticed a single circle (just a ring - not solid - likely caused by a single drop of sweat hitting the floor at the wrong time) about the size of a dime the A-Max guys were able to refinish just that one board but were completely ready and willing to refinish the entire room again (~1,000 sq ft.). When the movers dinged a few of the steps on the Brazilian staircase carrying extremely heavy things up stairs - A-Max took care of it for a fraction of what they could have charged the movers for the damage.

In summary - I am not easily impressed and finding someone that will do what they say they will do is getting more difficult each year. A-Max did all of this and much more for a fair price, on schedule, and the results once again make our home feel like our dream home.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with the A-Max crew. They were friendly, hardworking, professional and punctual. They helped us in our decision making process and responded quickly to our questions and concerns. The project was begun and finished on schedule. The most important thing is that we ended up with beautiful hardwood floors. They do exceptional work and did even more than promised or necessary to maximize the beauty of their work. We love what they did and would have them do any other work we wanted done.

Our only comment would be that we should have more clearly defined with them how work areas (driveway, garage, patio) would be left at the end of the job.
