Steve, the owner was a pleasure to work with. Really took the time to understand what I wanted and worked very diligently to make it happen!

Beautiful work! They just painted the interior of my house and it looks beautiful!! The whole process was surprisingly easy and affordable and the quality of their work is outstanding. Plus they are really good guys. They came in, moved everything, painted, cleaned everything up, moved everything back in place and it looks amazing! I just called them for a consultation on a couple of other projects I have in mind. I'm so excited!

With 40 years of experience in buying, remodeling and building commercial and residential properties, I have come across dozens of construction companies good and bad. Fox Valley Construction is definitely one of the good guys. Steve, the owner and manager, runs great crews that are tops in their fields, and he makes sure their work is always clean and professional. And, unlike many contractors, when Steve sizes up a project and gives you a quote you won't have to worry about phony change orders jacking up the price. I would recommend Fox Valley to anyone looking for quality workmanship at a fair price.

The work that they completed overall was done well, and initially the owners were responsive and professional. However, the project was originally quoted to take 3 weeks and instead took a roughly 3 months. During the demolition part of the project a full days work consisted of 2 workers arriving around 10 am, taking an hour break for lunch around 12, and leaving around 2-3pm. I mentioned this to the owners who kept giving excuses about how they need to pick up supplies or tools and they had other jobs to do. When the holidays starting coming near I was asked if I was supposed to be hosting, and that should not have mattered given that the project was supposed to have been completed before Thanksgiving. Throughout the project my nest thermostat was cracked and my air fryer was broken, and the workers had no clue how those things happened when they were the only ones in the house at the time. They also caused my ice maker in my refrigerator to need repairs after neglecting to take proper steps before moving my refrigerator multiple time. I called a repairman they recommended to fix it and they said they would reimburse that expense. After the work was completed I was told the work had a 1 year warranty. Since the work was completed there are handles on my cabinet doors coming loose, the new doors don't sit properly in their frame and stick shut or wont open without great effort, my Nest thermostat was not reinstalled correctly which caused another expense of someone coming to fix the wiring (again said the owners said they would reimburse the cost) and the new garbage disposal installed is leaking. I have sent receipts for the repairs to the ice maker and nest, and it will be 1 year next month since the start of this project. No reimbursements have been received and though I have reached out about the things that should be fixed under their warranty I have gotten no response from the owners. Strongly considering taking this to small claims court as I have video and photo evidence of the damages and items needing repair, and have never received the reimbursement that was said in writing to be owed to me.

Steve and Mark Brengman of Fox Valley construction took a $700 deposit for remodeling work to be competed on my home. They have done no work. They will not answer calls and will not return my deposit. The deposit has been returned.

Pathetic, Unprofessional liars. We signed a contract with Fox Valley Construction and Remodeling, *** (FVCR) on 04/08/22 for a Basement remodel (Estimate# ****). The contract included materials and labor. A couple weeks down the line, we signed an addendum to add a half bath to the basement (Estimate#****). While signing the contract, we were promised that the company has its own workers (no subcontracting) and the project would be completed within 4 weeks (2 weeks were added later to accommodate the half bath. I have adhered to all the payment schedules that were mentioned in the contract Problem 1: FVCR messed up the plumbing in the basement half bath. All the water and drainage started backing up. Despite being under warranty, FVCR refused to address the issue and left it in an unhygienic state.Problem 2: FVCR messed up the floor install. The Luxury Vinyl Flooring installed by FVCR started to come apart within weeks of installation. The corners of the floor planks were exposed posing a hazard. Kids play in the basement. FVCR had no concern if anyone would have gotten seriously injured due to their poor workmanship.Problem 3: The half bath they built was not covered with a ceiling. Imagine all the air circulating in your finished basement when someone used it. Other problems: FVCR does not honor the terms of the contract or warranty. FVCR does not have a full fledged crew to complete bigger projects like a basement remodel. They use subcontractors for this job. They do not pay these subcontractors. I had to pay a plumber $300 as FVCR had not paid him for weeks. They did not even pay the floor installer the complete amount. Multiple subcontractors for plumbing and electrical were used as they left the job half way (sometimes within 2 hours of starting) due to unavailability of materials provided and/ or non-payment. The company has not responded to my lawyer since March. STAY AWAY.

They stole $5000 from my business!!!
Relationship started out well. hey were prompt, communicative, easy to work with. But unfortunately, the Landlord required more insurance than they had and they were not able to get more. After 2 months of them "working on getting more insurance", I finally hired another GC and asked for my money back.
After that point, they started answering the phone less and less. Saying they were on job sites in MN and not able to give me a check until they got back. Or that his boss was supposed to call me to schedule a time. After 3 months of chasing after them, I have decided to give up and write it up as a loss.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
