I've dealt with Pro Mechanical Restoration, a local outfit in the valley. Their staff is courteous and knowledgeable, making them a reliable choice. When my AC failed during the heatwave, they provided assistance promptly. Given their expertise and reasonable rates, I stick with PMR for all my air con and heating needs.

We've had them come out three times in the past year. Our 21-year-old AC unit died in the middle of summer, so they fixed it and replaced some parts at a reasonable cost. A couple of months later, the fan in our attic was making noise due to the blade hitting something, and they ended up replacing it because it had bent over time. When we needed a new unit, they gave us a fair price for both the unit and installation, considering they had to disassemble and reassemble it to fit the small entrance to our attic. They're great to work with - friendly and try to accommodate budgets. I'd definitely recommend them.
However, my experience took a turn for the worse when I signed up for automatic monthly payments to ensure annual services. But my payments suddenly stopped in early summer, and after trying to call the number on my card, it was disconnected. The website number only went to Illinois, where I found out that the Arizona office had closed and sold its clients to another service provider. Despite having a good experience with them two times, I dropped my rating to three stars due to the lack of communication about the office closure, refusal to refund money for annual services, and no follow-up call from the new servicer. -
A company that preys on desperation, charging $600 after an AC breakdown in Arizona when it could've been fixed for much less elsewhere. Their tactics are shady and take advantage of people's needs.

I was thoroughly let down by this company. We spoke on Sunday evening, and a representative quoted us a service fee of $99, which would be waived if we went ahead with the work. I was told to expect a text confirmation for the next day's appointment. However, no one contacted me, and I found out on your website that the service fee had changed to $89. Despite this, I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday between 8-10am and Tuesday at 2pm. Just as I was about to head out, I received a text cancelling my service call. To add insult to injury, when I tried to reschedule on Wednesday, the service fee jumped to $120, with no available slots until Thursday. The whole experience was extremely unprofessional and misleading – it's confusing at best.

I hired PMR to handle an insurance claim for storm damage to my rental property's roof. They showed up on time whenever I needed to meet with them, but that's about where their reliability ends. The claim was paid out in full, which is the only good thing I can say.
When we met to discuss the roof, Kevin seemed knowledgeable and pointed out a few discrepancies in the insurance paperwork I had received. He explained that the actual payout amount would be more than I initially thought, but unfortunately, he also took advantage of my lack of understanding to squeeze extra money out of me by deducting the ACV instead of the RCV.
I had identified a couple of items that needed attention - a screen and two downspouts. The total Kevin quoted for these repairs was significantly lower than I expected. However, when I asked him to break it down further, he became evasive and claimed that no one ever asks for explanations.
After the roof repair was completed, the insurance demanded an invoice from PMR so they could release the final check. I requested this invoice multiple times, but Kevin kept putting me off until finally sending a bare-bones bill without any detailed breakdowns.
During my inspection of the work, I noticed several issues that weren't addressed by PMR. The drip edge and furnace vents that were supposed to be replaced on the claim had been left out. One furnace vent was loose, and the ridge vent didn't match the type specified in the original claim.
When I received the final check, I politely informed Kevin that I wouldn't pay for work that wasn't done correctly. I also noted that some repairs required further investigation, such as a furnace vent that had been disconnected from the roof vent system and two bath vents that had been ripped out during the installation process.
Kevin eventually sent another invoice, but it only accounted for the ACV of the screen and downspouts, leaving me to pay for the missing work. I also deducted the costs of repairing the furnace vent and the incorrect ridge vent from my final payment.
Upon further investigation, I found that PMR had failed to properly install both furnace vents, and they had chosen a different type of ridge vent than specified in the original claim. This is not only unacceptable but also potentially hazardous due to the risk of carbon monoxide entering the attic space.
I have since alerted my insurance company about PMR's subpar work practices and reported them to the IDFPR for allegedly forging paperwork to use another company's roofing license. I hope that this will lead to a more thorough investigation, and if PMR does continue to do business with the insurance company, it will be scrutinized more closely.
In retrospect, I wish I had stuck with my original plan to hire a licensed roofer to complete the work according to the claim. Instead, due to PMR's greed and dishonesty, they took shortcuts that could have put people at risk.
