John Lettner is an expert who clearly takes the time to explain complex concepts in a way that's easy to understand.

Peter did an excellent job on our building project, providing clear explanations of the work required and being extremely helpful throughout. His extensive knowledge of HVAC is evident, which gave us confidence in his abilities. Supporting a local business like Peter's is also a plus.

We were worried about getting our heat fixed in time with temps dropping to -25, but this company delivered. They responded promptly and got someone out quickly to resolve the issue. The technician had to leave briefly to retrieve a part, but returned within 30 minutes. The employee was courteous and did a great job. Appreciate their speedy service.

I recently got quotes for a full AC system replacement and initially thought it would be a lengthy process. However, Cesar from Pure took care of me with ease, clearly prioritizing customer satisfaction. He even suggested I get quotes from competitors to ensure I was getting the best deal - which ultimately saved me money on labor costs by borrowing equipment from another construction company working nearby.

After comparing four different quotes, Pure emerged as the most affordable option while offering a superior service that made it an obvious choice for me.

After decades of service, I've found a reliable partner. Last year's furnace installation exceeded my expectations - my heating costs plummeted, and I can now maintain a comfortable 68 degrees without sacrificing coziness. Their commitment to affordability and quality is commendable. One thing's certain: you won't find a better value in this industry.

We've had a great experience with Pure Air - John, Faye, and the whole team have consistently impressed us over the past 25 years. They handle our semi-annual maintenance needs with ease, as well as tackle any larger projects that come up. Their professionalism and trustworthiness make them stand out from other companies.

We've been using Pure Air for around 10 years, first replacing our old house's HVAC system and then doing the same at our new one. Their professionalism and excellent service have remained consistent throughout.

We've relied on Pure for years, but their recent performance exceeded expectations. After our thermostat failed on Christmas Eve, they walked us through a possible solution over the phone. Since that didn't work remotely, they arrived promptly the next morning to fix it. Thanks to their exceptional service, we have heat for Christmas and this weekend - a welcome respite from the cold.

Philip, the owner, was incredibly responsive and got back to me right away. Our furnace suddenly stopped working on Christmas Eve morning, which was a disaster given our family was coming into town for the holidays. The old furnace had clearly reached its limits - the overheating limit kept tripping, indicating it was well past its prime. Philip showed me firsthand where the problems were occurring, so I knew he'd given it his full attention. He worked quickly to get a new one installed and it was up and running by mid-afternoon that same day. You can bet I'll be calling them from now on - their service is top-notch!

I had a disappointing experience with this service for adding an Ecobee thermostat to my home. When I called to set up a time, John told me that his team couldn't complete the installation on the spot because they needed to run additional wiring - specifically, a fifth common wire as specified by Ecobee's instructions. This wasn't surprising, given John is the owner and has a 12-year history with the company.

However, when I asked about the cost of adding this extra wire, John quoted $530. When I inquired about installing the Ecobee thermostat itself, he mentioned that it would be $470 - totaling $1,000 for both services. I found this price point to be quite steep.

Needless to say, my decision was made when another HVAC company arrived and discovered that my home already had six wires installed in the wall - no additional wiring needed for the Ecobee thermostats. This new company completed the installation for $135 over the course of one hour, a stark contrast to Pure Air's two-week wait time.

In retrospect, I believe John's insistence on using a Honeywell thermostat was a misstep. Furthermore, as the owner of this company, John should have been more knowledgeable about his own services and costs. Unfortunately, my experience with Pure Air left me unimpressed - I wouldn't recommend them to others and would advise looking elsewhere for similar services.

I'm extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from Pure Air. After researching and reading reviews, I decided not to use ABT this time around. The technician arrived about 15 minutes after our scheduled appointment, and I immediately informed him that the ignitor was faulty. To my astonishment, I received a bill for $265.

I had previously agreed to pay a $95 visit fee over the phone, but the cost of replacing the ignitor and labor came out to be $170, which seems utterly unreasonable given the short amount of time spent working on the issue. When I spoke with the office, I was told that the additional 15 minutes it took to contact their office was what added to my bill.

The owner then explained that the business's operating expenses, including health insurance and gas costs, were the reason for the inflated bill. However, he also mentioned how the distance from Morton Grove to Glenview, which is roughly a 6-minute drive, affects their pricing. I was about to ask for a quote on a new furnace, but fortunately, things didn't go well.

While I understand that businesses have expenses, I believe it's essential to be fair when charging for services. Pure Air's lack of transparency and excessive costs are red flags that I would advise others to steer clear of. If you have to pay for someone's travel time, consider choosing a service provider who is more reasonable with their pricing.

I won't be calling them again, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else without comparing costs and services with other providers first. The fact that the office is just 3 minutes away from my home doesn't justify the excessive charges.

We paid $263 for an AC check-up and were left with a clean bill of health when the technicians departed. However, four days later, our AC stopped working altogether. When we emailed customer service, we received no response or explanation about what went wrong. We wrote this review to bring attention to the issue, but it took several days before they finally called my husband back. Apparently, they've now refused to fix the problem after we posted this review, which suggests a lack of genuine interest in customer service and a clear inability to rectify issues once they arise. Thankfully, we switched to another company that was able to get our AC working properly.

I paid over $125 for a furnace clean and inspection, but it was subpar work. Two other HVAC professionals and my own observation suggested they didn't do the job right. When I had questions the next day, I wanted to speak with the tech who came to my home, but I was redirected to an associate. I made two requests for just 5 minutes of their time, only to be ignored both times. Later, I emailed to request a $40 refund due to the poor cleaning - it went unanswered. This experience has left me wary of this company's attention to customer needs and work quality.
