Tom was great! I called a few repair places to get prices and an idea of availability for fridge repair (fridge went out on Saturday). Of all the repair places, not only was Tom the only person available same day (Monday), but he also asked the most questions about the issue to diagnose it before coming and quoted me a fair repair price based on the information I gave, which he honored. He worked quickly and spent time explaining how to change the part ourselves in the future to save time/money. He also provides courses for the DIY-inclined. I would definitely call him again. My fridge is up and running without any issues.

Had a problem with the stove, and decided to give Tom a try. I’m very pleased with the service I was provided. Tom was knowledge and professional. He took the time to explain to me my problem, and gave me tips on how to self diagnose any future problems with the stove. Tom’s prices were reasonable and he guaranteed his work. Been having Tom (Solid State Controls) maintain our furnace and keep our dryer vents clear for about 15 years now. Finally saved up enough for a major first floor renovation and found out Tom and his team have so much more to offer. They were able to move our sink and dishwasher to a different location (plumbing & electric) as well as relocate a supply vent and a return vent to different walls. All of this at an affordable price and great onsite attitude. Tom and his team are thoughtful and creative with their solutions, while maintaining/meeting current code standards. We have always recommended him highly by word of mouth. Finally got around to writing an online review. Couldn't recommend this business more!
