I had Tri-City stop out and do some low voltage cabling for a couple of projects around the house. They were prompt to show up and the work was excellent. The tech onsite was friendly, knowledgable and easy to work with!

I had the pleasure of working with Joe Atkinson at the onset of my request for quotes from a few electrical shops in the Des Moines area and Joe went above and beyond with his initial contact with me.

We bought a new home outside of the Des Moines area and I needed a slew of ethernet cable run for my exterior property cameras, my wireless network and my home office plus my wifes home office.

Joe drove an hour of his way to come conduct the initial site survey of the house (built in the 1800's, Renovated and expanded a few times leaving a myriad of different constructions styles making their job a thousand times harder.

We talked about what I was looking to do with the future intention of having 10 gig fiber service to my home and the existing 1 gig fiber service brought to the side of my home.

The quote process was easier than any other quote I've been through, having done RFQ's in my professional work for 20k square foot facilities down to custom installs for premium A/V work. Joe was ready for my questions, requests and worked to find the best kit within the budget we discussed and he NAILED it.

I would be remiss if I didn't talk about the INCREDIBLE work their Low Voltage team did at my house.

Shane and Shawn made contact with me the evening before the install so we could talk a bit about the site before they arrived.

Some guys come to a residential job, dreading it and it shows in the quality of their work and the experience. That was 100% not the case at my job. Shane and Shawn were amazing to work with, even with some on the fly changes we made as we explored the path in depth to get the cable runs to my server room, office and the rest of my property.

They respected my house, the work I was doing, all four of my cats that worked so hard to get underfoot and my wife. They did incredibly neat work within my house and I have an amazing network of cameras and AP's all humming along happily with zero issues.

I'm honestly just looking for excuses to have these guys come out to do more work on the house because of how great they were to have around.

At the same time, I ended up needing some crazy short notice electrical work done. Joe got me in touch with their Electrical President whose contact I managed to lose in the hectic process of getting all this work done, called me during this other job, got me an electrician to fix the nightmare of electrical outlets that we inherited when we bought the house. The electrician who came out was super friendly, very happy to explain what we were looking at and helped my wife and I feel much better about what we were having them do.

Hire these guys, they will take care of you, within your needs and work within your budget (if you've done the right job qualifying your budget for the work you need done. :) )

I highly recommend Tri City Electric. Great customer service from Janice and Robin. Janice was very kind and polite scheduling our appointment and even making sure to let us know Robin had finished the job before ours early and could come to our house early. Robin took the time to make sure he understood exactly what we wanted before starting the work and then he worked very quickly and diligently to finish it, perfectly, in a very timely manner. We will definitely call Tri City Electric in the future.

We will never call another electrician- this company is awesome! From their customer service reps to their field technicians, we have been so pleased with the service they have provided. They have always been very quick to send a tech out, and the technicians have been on time, super knowledgeable, and presented solutions that fit our needs and that are budget-conscious. Highly recommend!

One of their drivers almost caused a large accident on I80 east bound after the mix master. Driving recklessly to pass cars that were stopped.

Unreliable. Backed on the job last minute

Run away from their reckless pick-up driver on I-80. At 6:42 am he pulled into my lane with 10' to spare when I was passing him. I honked and changed lanes to avoid him. When I turned onto I-235 he honked at me and flipped me off as he passed going straight.

Would not recommend. Charged an outrageous amount for a walk thru, absolutely zero work done. Claimed "large amount of labor" for a job they never did. "Customer service " caught an attitude when asked for a list of work done and to explain the charges for the walk thru. Would not say what work was completed for the charge. Threatened to instead send the bill to collections, instead of being professional and explaing the issue.
100% do not recommend. Stay away unless you want horrible service and made up bogus charges.
