Midwest Mechanical was the second company I called for an estimate. The day before, I had a highly rated company from Yelp check out the AC because my Airbnb guest reported it wasn’t blowing cold air. I own the home but had to relocate out of state for work, so coordinating repairs hasn’t been easy.

That first company told me the entire unit needed to be replaced and quoted me $4,500. I felt sick. Thankfully, I always get a second opinion — and I’m so glad I did.

Midwest sent Angel out the next day. I didn’t mention the prior diagnosis, just asked him to take a look. He quickly identified the issue as a single part that needed replacing. The office stayed in touch with me the whole time, and Angel was able to return later that same day to complete the repair. The total? Around $300.

Thanks to my smart thermostat, I could see the house cooling down in real time. I honestly thought I was going to have to shut down my Airbnb business — I couldn’t afford a full AC replacement. Midwest Mechanical absolutely saved the day.

Crew arrived early--that's a good thing. They were courteous and got to work quickly. They were considerate by wiping their shoes entering & returning. They cleaned up after themselves and explained what they did and offered preventative tips. I'm VERY PLEASED with their work. I will definitely recommend them to my friends.

Very easy scheduling with Marcia. Sam was on time, very professional and kept us informed along the process. Sam was able to fix a decade worth of poor service and repairs by other companies. First time in 10 years plus the people in the office complained it was cold with the AC running!

I came home after a short get away to a very cold house due to my heater not working. I gave Midwest mechanical a call based on a recommendation from a friend and to my surprise they were able to have a technician out to my house that same day. They sent Lee to come diagnose and fix my issue. Lee was amazing!! I loved how he walked me through what he was doing and why. As a single female I have grown cautious and skeptical when it comes to maintenance related topics. Lee immediately put me at ease and gained my trust. He quickly diagnosed my problem and was able to fix it the same day. Going forward I will always call Midwest mechanical for all my maintenance and repair needs. I am extremely thankful that I found a company that employs honest and trustworthy people!!

It's not often a company exceeds all expectations. Midwest Mechanical does. Angel called and arrived on time. He identified the problem with the furnace ( a failing capacitor) very quickly. He then turned to the air conditioner. It's problem was a blown capacitor which was replaced. Cleaning of the Compressor was very thorough
Angel showed me the readings of the defective components and explained what he was doing and why. He was very pleasant and patient answering my questions.
Finally, the prices for the service call and parts was very reasonable. I forgot to ask about a veterans discount when I paid. I asked about it after the fact. Service was on Thursday, I received a check in Monday's mail. I found my HVAC company!

A few days ago, I contacted Midwest Mechanical for a plumbing issue. The company sent a technician named Lalo Palacio. He arrived on time, and I appreciated that the company texted me a photo of him in advance, along with a courtesy call before his arrival.

Their website stated that the service fee would be waived if a repair was completed, which is uncommon these days, as many companies tend to add extra fees at every step. Lalo was professional, respectful, and attentive. He took the time to listen and didn’t come across as dismissive or overly confident, which is a refreshing change from some experiences I’ve had with other technicians.

We established a good rapport quickly. He spent a fair amount of time working on the issue, provided thoughtful feedback, and explained the situation clearly. Even after he believed the repair was complete, he didn’t rush to leave — he thoroughly tested the solution. Unfortunately, the issue wasn’t fully resolved, but rather than pushing a quick fix or upsell, he proposed a follow-up plan for after my return from an out-of-town trip. Instead of overcharging for an incomplete solution, he simply charged the standard service fee.

In short, while the problem wasn’t fixed that day, the experience was handled with professionalism and integrity. Based on this interaction, I plan to continue using Midwest Mechanical and will confidently recommend both the company and Lalo Palacio to others.

Midwest Mechanical delivered outstanding service from start to finish. Over the past year they handled plumbing work, a mini-split repair, and finally the installation of a high-end HVAC system in my 1940 Crown Heights home. I chose a 98 percent efficient furnace and a 19 SEER2 air conditioner, and the entire process was handled with professionalism. Every technician was knowledgeable, on time, and respectful of the challenges of an older home. The Service Manager answered every question with clear options and detailed quotes. Installation was smooth despite the house fighting every upgrade. As of December 10th 2025 the new system has been running for less than a week, and the difference is dramatic. The system is quiet, the comfort level is night and day, and my home finally feels warm and cozy instead of cold and drafty. This company earned my trust.

I have done business with Midwest Mechanical at least on 4 different occasions. Each time I have been met with nothing short of professionalism and kindness from the scheduling to job completion. I highly recommend Midwest Mechanical for all your HVAC needs.

Midwest serviced an ac unit for me at a rental house a couple of weeks ago in the July heat. Angel the technician, checked the system, replaced a capacitor and verified the ac was cooling. The ac quit cooling about 14 days later. Midwest couldn't look at the unit that day, so I called one of their competitors. They sent a technician who said there was no refrigerant in the unit. They would need to run a nitrogen leak test to find the leak(s). The refrigerant was $130 a pound and the unit needed 4-5 pounds. The total repair over $800. I would need to schedule the work which would be another couple of days with my renter, a gentleman in his late 60's, going without ac. I called Midwest and spoke with Shon. He asked me if one of Midwest's technicians could look at the unit. I said yes. Lee Mickey from Midwest, checked the unit that day around noon, found and fixed the leak and rechanged the ac. They got my ac fixed and working again and my renter was very happy. There was no charge for the repair. It was warranty work for them. Shon and his crew of technicians went above and beyond for me. They are an outstanding company. I have used their services for several years. They have also installed a new ac and furnace for me and did an excellent job. I will definitely call them again.

They came just two business days after we called, even though it was a busy tim, (we all want our air conditioning at the same time).
Arrived on time and did the servicing, installed our new programmable thermostat, and charged a reasonable fee. We are happy customers.
