We hired Justin and his crew to remove a large old tree from our property. They were complete pros. The job ended up being more more involved than Justin had anticipated given some structural issues with the tree, but he and his crew finished it promptly and with care.

I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality tree care in Greater Portland.

I had a very large tree land in my car and house during Christmas weekend 2022. Justin was not only empathetic but super responsive and communicative on the Christmas holiday weekend. He and his crew worked fast and efficient. He is also handling the insurance company for payment. Finally a business with hometown etiquette and morals!!! Hire this team!!!!!! They are awesome!!!

We had Justin and his crew come out for a day of removing big troublesome pines near our house (with the help of a crane) and were very pleased with the service. They were professional, efficient, and great to work with. Justin was straightforward, friendly, and trustworthy. The climber (John I think?), was nimble and talented with the chainsaw, and they all put in a hard day's work. We have so much more light around the house now, and a lot less sap! The price was fair, and we would definitely hire SMT again.

It has been a total delight to work with Justin and his crew on the removal of 6 old trees surrounding our (newly paved) driveway. Justin's customer service is top-notch -- he is responsive and considerate and very well priced.

We had a high-maintenance project that required a fair amount of coordination. Kudos to Justin's integrity; on the initial removal day, he had his team out and after about an hour of review, he actually asked me to reschedule as it was too high risk to not damage the driveway! Always impressed when a business will stand up and do the right thing for the customer, even if its not what was initially negotiated. Eventually, the trees were removed with such skill - we had power lines, the aforementioned driveway, and still very wet ground and the property is unscathed, all things considered.

He will also go the extra mile for his customers -- when I reached out separately for a hardscape rec, Justin had his contact call me! What service! I'm thrilled with his team's work -- truly a delight to watch these craftsmen work. I will be using Southern Maine Tree for any future tree issues without hesitation.

This is the second time I have worked with Justin and Southern Maine Tree. Both times they were quick to respond and schedule my jobs, with very reasonable pricing. They are pleasant, professional and great to work with. Will definitely call them again!

I have worked with Jon Labbe 3 times in the last 7 years and today I met Justin Cross when they came to do another job for me. These men are licensed, trained, honest, personable and they do stellar work at reasonable prices! In the last 7 years I have had 4 large white pine trees removed, a maple tree trimmed, and 21 tall red pine trees removed from my residence. I cannot recommend Southern Maine Tree enough! Awesome is the word that comes to mind! You won't be sorry if you hire them to do any of your tree work.
