We had a large 50 year old dying tree removed from our yard. We also had a tree next to it trimmed. The crew arrived, worked diligently and safely to complete the job causing us no distractions. We’re a family of 5 all quarantined- that’s impressive! The area was cleaned up well and looks great. We saved some little log pieces of the tree for kids to play and balance on. We’re so happy it was such an easy process! Thank you!

This is the most professional tree service I have ever dealt with. It is the second time I am using them to remove a large tree. I will never again bother to get multiple estimates. Their arborist Jimmy made the entire process of estimate, contract, and checking up on the work completely seemless. The crew was terrific in not only doing the work very professionally and cleaning the area afterward, they went out of their way to ensure that my wife and I were totally satisfied. On my wife's request to have part of the tree trunk to make a table, they cut it exactly to her specifications. I had two other estimates ---- one somewhat higher and the other competitive with Hughes. I didn't even consider using either of the other two because they didn't seem very professional and wouldn't even give me a written estimate with conditions of work.

Hughes did all the work agreed to and more. The mulch beds were carefully edged. They cleaned up all trimmings and debris. They completed the work within a week after we made the down payment. Their price was reasonable and their proposal and contract was professional in presentation.

Great value. High quality work. Smart team. Super efficient. Had them do the whole yard (big yard), build an out door patio with a fire pit, dry creek bed in the yard to help flow of drainage, planted 15+ trees, also bushes, shrubs , huge stones, and irrigated my entire back yard so it drained efficiently. John Hughes may be the best in the business!

Hughes Landscaping is the best. I have a heavily wooded yard so leaf removal is challenging but Dave Fyock’s team gets it done quickly and efficiently. I also have a very steep driveway and without Dave’s team I would have been snowed in many times. Truly great service!

We hired hughes earlier this year to mow our property. They come weekly and are very efficient and thorough. Our property looks so much better after they leave. They've worked with us on other projects too like busch hogging very thick areas and have been very reasonable with price. Dave is our contact and is extremely responsive and such a help! Thank you!

I am president of Mutual Eleven at Leisure World. Recently we had a very large project that involved rain water drainage and elected to have Hughes Landscaping deal with it. We could not have made a better decision. They started the work on time, showed up every day and were extremely professional. When I asked a question of them, they fully answered even though they didn't know who I was. I strongly recommend Hughes Landscaping and will be using them for yet another project currently being planned.

Hughes completed redirected the water drainage from a commercial property behind my house. The water has run down the hill for years and recently began to wash the dirt, rocks and debris into my yard. The Hughes team placed the drainage pipes underground and built a concrete retaining wall on the property. They even finished off my yard that had been damaged from years of improper draining. A 4 week project but the men were professional and courteous and did a fabulous job. I can't be more pleased!

Great experience with the team from Hughes landscaping. I hired them to help with some tree removal from a windstorm. They offered a VERY competetive rate and got me on schedule with very short notice. They were timely, professional, diligent and were extremely safe when removing the trees. The boss and his crew made the cost of the job worth every last penny. They took down a huge, dead tree next to our pool and removed big, low hanging branches over our parking area. Hughes Landscaping were very knowledgeable, skilled, efficient and gracious. Their work was excellent and a very good value. We highly recommend them.

We used Hughes to install a water intrusion system for our back yard. Dave came out to survey our property the next day, providing an estimate on the spot, and the entire project took only 2 days to complete! Now we can play in our backyard without running through sloppy puddles every day!

Jimmy and his crew were efficient and clean. They took great care to make sure that our yard was disturbed as little as possible while doing work on two trees in the front and three in the back. They were even able to take care of a last minute problem tree that I asked them to remove the day of. Jim is an Absolute professional and very knowledgeable about each type of tree we have on our property. I will be using Hughes and this crew for all of my tree care needs from now on.

We can't say enough about how pleased we are with how our yard is maintained throughout the different seasons, thanks to Hughes Landscaping. With my significant other and I working full time jobs & being away from our home a majority of the week.. maintaining our property has been a huge stressor for the both of us. Wyatt & team did an amazing job clearing a HUGE tree that had fallen in our yard! They were prompt, professional, and thorough!

Our deck was in disrepair after years of wear. Hughes Landscaping took on our deck, trellis, and railing system and we now have an oasis in our backyard. 2024 Update: We remain very happy with Hughes Landscaping. Tim Gardner is our project manager; he is such a pro and works so well with both us as homeowners and his crews (many of whom have been here at our house year after year).

In a big storm, a very large branch came off a tree in our backyard and the Hughes arborist came by to look at the situation after regular work hours and then had a team at our house the next day to remove the tree debris. Hughes was prompt, professional and their rates were very fair.

Hughes landscaping and particularly Tim Gardner and his crew were great. We had five 30 ft trees in the front and several more not as tall in the front and back that reduced our yard to dirt over the years and were heavily involved in the wires along the street. Tim coordinated and oversaw the whole thing. He coordinated with Pepco and ground out stumps and roots and regraded and drained our yard both front and back. He had the whole thing planned. He dealt with all my worries. Everything is properly graded and green and ready for whatever we want to do next. I have already asked him to start coming up with a plan for our next project. Can't say enough good things. My main compliment to Hughes, and Tim, is that all I had to do is ask them to fix my yard and they did.

After evaluating several contractors, we chose to work with Hughes Landscaping on multiple small and large hardscape projects at our home in Darnestown and have been favorably impressed with the craftsmanship, price, professionalism, and overall management of each project. We've received numerous compliments on the finished products and are now enjoying them immensely. Highly recommended.
