My 16 year old State water heater broke down. I reached out to Ken as he was recommended by a friend of mine in the same neighborhood. Ken was very transparent about the process unlike the other providers who I reached out to who just wasted my time. First time replacing a water heater so got to learn a lot about the technicalities. Generally, everyone recommends to cross-reference the old model number to a new one so that the dimensions and specs match so that the new one can be installed in the same spot without having to do any more work like moving the vent outlet hole higher or lower plus any more pipe related works. However, there was a 1/4 inch height offset for my new one's vent outlet on the wall, since the old model and the new model recommended did not exactly match 1 to 1. The suppliers who sell you the water heater do not tell you that, and you only find that out if you try to go deep into the specs. Ken picked up my new water heater and confirmed about the dimensions with the supplier who failed to mention this offset to him. When he reached my home with the new model, I told him about the offset which i was not sure about and he again called and confirmed with the supplier who now said ya, there is a 1/4th inch offset. So we were very worried that time if the new one would even fit. But thanks to Ken and his son Ken, who talked to few people and confirmed that they could work with the offset and he installed the new model at my place. It took maybe a couple of more hours for him to install this because of the vent height offset but he and his son did a fantastic job. It is really hard to find transparent people these days. I am glad I went ahead with Ken for the job. I am highly satisfied and will definitely work with him in future. Highly recommend

Ken was incredibly responsive and kind. He took the time to understand my needs and delivered a wonderful job promptly and effectively at a reasonable fee for a water filter installation. He'll be the first person I call for future plumbing needs. I'm impressed and grateful.

I was referred to Coastal Plumbing and Heating and I couldn’t be happier with their service! My water heater went so I looked online for referrals and found options. I received a call back from Ken. I explained the problem and after asking a few questions he gave me a cost quote. He adjusted his schedule so he was able to show up within an hour of my call. He and his son came, replaced the water heater, and took out the old one. They also fixed a small problem with my garbage disposal with no additional charge! The cost was exactly what was quoted and was a very fair price! I was so happy with their service that I’m sharing their information with friends and family. I will definitely use them in the future and would urge others to do so as well. They turned a nightmare into relief for me. So happy I chose Coastal Plumbing and Heating!

When my water heater crashed. I went online and got referrals to 7 different support providers. After engaging each of them I chose Coastal because during my initial phone conversation with Ken he was able to clearly explain water heater functions and options, and his quoted pricing was extremely competitive. He arrived on time, he and his son were professional and courteous. They answered all my questions to my satisfaction, and most of all they worked cleanly and efficiently and had my new unit installed and working within the previously estimated time-frame.

Nice guy, good work and very responsive. He works along side his son, which is cool. Only downfall was that he was an hour late. He apologized for the inconvenience. Would give 4.5 ☆ if i could.

I recently tried to contact Coastal Plumbing and Heating about a question I have about my water heater. The problem I'm having is that I'm running out of hot water since I've had the new unit installed. This was never a problem with the old unit. I never heard anything back. I tried messaging them from their website, from the site i found them on (Angi) and still nothing.

A few weeks later i called on a sunday night around 730pm about a leaky pipe and no response. I even left a voicemail with all my contact info, still no call back until i called back Monday afternoon. I bring this up because the hours posted on their website is Monday-Sunday 7am-10pm.

After this last experience i need to adjust my overall rating to 3 stars.

EDIT #2- This is about Ken at coastal plumbing and heating located in GEORGETOWN MASSACHUSETTS.

I had coastal plumbing and heating install a water heater on 9/15 2020. It failed the first week of December.
He said he would fix it he came out on time.the job was more complicated than he expected. He left me hanging without hot water told me to get someone else to fix it even after I politely beg him to finish the job. Paid 1100 dollars to install a $400 dollar water heater with that kind of profit you would think he would stand behind his work.

I bought a new home earlier this year and back in March I wanted to move my toilet to the other side of my bathroom. This is something that could be done after sending pictures to Coastal Plumbing. Ken priced the job at $1800 because it would be a full day’s work. Ken showed up exactly one hour late from the agreed upon 8AM start time at 9AM. He arrived with his son, did not have a flange (quite odd for a plumber) then left the property for 1 and ½ hours. He banged around downstairs with his son for about an hour then left for lunch for another hour and 20 minutes. The job was completed in addition to repairing a pipe in the basement by 3:35PM. This pipe is on a pitch and I will need to have another professional fix it. Ken had said at one point that morning that he quotes the job based on the time it will take – and the customer could end up paying a lot less if it is done in less time. Ken was not only unprofessional during the entire ordeal, but I then called him to tell him that I believe that this was an unfair price and explain the hours he was missing throughout the day – his response was, “You should have done your homework and not went with the first quote given.” Yes – a comment you wouldn’t expect to hear from an owner. This review is so that anyone doing their homework will take these wise words and – do your homework, do not go with the first quote given!

Do not hire this individual for work. I hired ken to replace water shut offs in my condo. We spoke several times and confirmed the appointment via text and via phone call. On the day of the job he called and said he would be late, then he ghosted me u til I called him to check his status. He claimed his other job went over and he couldn’t make it after me waiting for a several hours. The job required me to contact my condo board and neighbors as water would be shut off. My condo is currently a mess as i had moved appliances and cleared out spaces for him to work. I took the day off work to be ready for him to work. After he cancelled I asked him to come he next day and he said he was busy until Friday afternoon (today is Tuesday). I find it highly unlikely that he will come on Friday afternoon and I don’t understand why he has rudely inconvenienced me and skipped out on the job. I do not recommend this individual he is rude and unreliable. If I could give 0 stars I would honestly this individual has pissed me off.
