Great reputation because they do great work. Ask anyone in town about these guys and you'll hear nothing but good. The reviewer, Erik P, sounds like a complete nut job.

I had a tree limb fall on my service to my house and I got their number from my local power company, they were the first ones to answer my call and were able to get here in about an hour or two and they stayed through the storm working on my house with limbs cracking all around but they got it done and got the power company back in record time so I had power and heat through the rest of the night….. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!!!!!
    Hats off to them

Piper electric was prompt and professional. The electrician Jeff and his apprentice Nick were wonderful. They took care of what needed to be fixed. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for quality and timely service.

Piper came out and put in lights which required wires to be run inside walls with switches, face plates ect..also ran a new line in my basement for a refrigerator.
They did a fantastic job! They gave me a good price also! I would use them again!

Leominster was hit by a hurricane like Storm. My power wire was ripped off the side of the house. Piper came out same day, reattached conduit to house and installed a new weather tip. Total price was less than quoted. And done in 1/2 hour. Definitely will be keeping their number.

We lost power to half of our house, called our power company and they told us we have full power to the house. Call some electrical contractors, but no one could help us for at least 24 hours. We call Piper and they were here in less than 2 hours, replaced the main breaker, and were gone in less than one hour. This response and result are tops as far as we are concerned, they were all great, especially the office receptionist Sue, our thanks to them all.

This company is professional attentive and makes you feel like they really want your business. Everything from the estimate to the installation was planned conveinant and expertly done. The crew was awesome. Werner worked with me every step of the way and even organized my inspection after the fact. Cannot recommend this business enough. You may get a lower estimate but the hassle getting a response from other electricians made it all worth it. I'm so glad I decided to proceed with Piper Electric.

Piper recently made a number of improvements to our home in Leominster, including additional circuits and outlets, installing a new hallway light, and retrofitting ceiling fans with remote controls. Gary took the time to understand what we wanted and delivered exactly that. The job was not without its complications but he worked through them without shortcuts. They are competent, fair, customer focused, and a pleasure to work with. We are very happy with the end result. We would definitely call on them again in the future and strongly recommend them to anyone needing electrical work. Update – we recently called Piper back to upgrade our service and wire up three mini-split systems. The workmanship was first-class, we are very pleased.

As a maintenance manager, I've used Piper Electrical everywhere that I've worked. The owner is very responsive and professional, and every job his guys have done for my has been done to a very high standard and in a very reasonable amount of time. I've tried others, and I always return to Piper when I need quality work done by professionals.
In fact, I just used Piper Electrical last week. I needed three machines connected to power, and I was in a bind due to deadlines. The owner fielded my call and had two guys at my shop the next day to knock the project out. As always, done very professionally and looks great. They will not cut corners and always adhere to code.
I've had Piper do small jobs up to coordinating with National Grid for major transformer replacement. The owner even came out on a Saturday to coordinate the replacement of a transformer that a squirrel let the smoke out of by shorting it. The transformer was replaced the same day, and we were back in business.
If you want it done professionally, call Piper Electrical.

    Stay away from this business!
I needed to have a single wire ran from my heat sensors in my garage to link with the smoke alarms for a fire certificate in order to sell our house. In short, they charged me 3 hours for less than 2 hours of work. I called them, was hung up on, I called back, and eventually, the owner of the company called me to figure out what the fuss was about. I told him the entire situation from that morning and how I was not told during the quote about being charged the travel time. His reply, "that's standard business and everyone knows this." "Well it may be common knowledge, but you're the first electrician I've hired. So how am I to know what is to be charged if I've never dealt with this situation before and it wasn't included in the quote?" I said.
After we go back and forth around that topic, he denies that his employees are charging travel time on both ends of a job. I told him for the math to add up to even 2.5 hours, they would have to charge before and after my job. This leads me to believe that the next job was also getting charged for the travel time from my house to their location and the employees are then double-dipping travel time. Of course the owner denies this.
Next issue brought to his attention was how his receptionist hung up on me. "I don't hire anyone like that. I know these women personally and they would never do that." I then returned, "Sir, this is exactly what happened. We are not going to have a teacher versus the parent with the unruly child conversation. I am telling you what just happened a few hours ago." He shut that down and felt that I was lying about his employee. The entire conversation I had with the receptionist was calm and very professional. Under no circumstance should a customer be hung up on by a receptionist because that individual cannot handle the situation properly.
After going round and round for half an hour about how I should not be charged 3.0 hours of work for less than 2 hours of actual work, I told him, "Sir, this is something we can keep at the local level, but I honestly feel like I am not being treated properly here. I truly do not believe that I need to get the Better Business Bureau involved." His response, "Well then you hang up on me right now and call them. You know what is going to happen? They will laugh at you, tell you to shut up, and then tell you to pay your bill. We have been in business for over 84 years for a reason and you won't be able to do anything to stop us from continuing on. Just because you've a hair across your ass doesn't mean you need to be making idle threats."

To save me a ton of unnecessary time with the BBB, we agreed on me paying 2.5 hours. Believe it or not, this is the condensed version due to text restriction on this site.

In short, this company is shady and gives hard workers a bad reputation. Stay clear and save yourself the headache.

Called Piper to get a specific test they perform.
Woman who answered the phone was rude and said ‘We can’t help you.’
My contractor told me to call back and ask them when they could do test.
After 3 tries she said we can help you in 2 weeks.
It’s now 12 days later and I called to see when they would be coming.
    No one called me back.
Day 13 called again to see when they were coming. They informed me they weren’t! Said the test was too involved and they decided not to do it.
That was it!!! They couldn’t/didn’t call me earlier to let me know they were cancelling.
Worst company I have dealt with. Unprofessional :(
