We have worked with Jay and his team on multiple projects and have found them to be top notch in all areas - professionalism, quality, timeliness and vision- it doesn't get much better! We'd highly recommend them to anyone who wants to create a sophisticated and beautiful landscape with some extraordinary touches.

MainStay Landscape transformed our modest Cape yard into a destination garden for neighbors, friends, and members of the community. In one short season, the well designed assortment of annuals and perennials appear established and have exploded with color. Previously scraggly rosebushes have at least tripled in size and blooms. Our custom window boxes are beautiful. An ingenious design has doubled the width of our driveway entrance. In addition, MainStay owner Jay MacMullan coordinated efforts with our irrigation company and managed a complicated permitting process to replant our wetland area. He is professional, trustworthy, and cares deeply for his work and our property. His knowledge of plants, trees, and the environment is impressive.

We hired Mainstay Landscape to design and build a patio for our backyard. Prior to instillation, ground cover and a sloping lawn existed where the patio was to go. In addition there lived a perennial garden, surrounded by a short, Pennsylvania stone wall in the middle of the backyard. We wanted the garden removed and the Pennsylvania stone incorporated into the patio retaining wall We also asked that he build around a mature Cherry Tree that provides privacy for the home.

Jay designed a 480 square foot, bluestone patio, boarded on one side by a Pennsylvania stone, dry stack, retaining wall that gently curves around the Cherry Tree. Underneath the tree he planted a few of the plants removed from the perennial garden. Jay also included 5 LED wall lights that send light cascading down the wall at night, along with two up-lights for the Cherry Tree.

Throughout the planning process Jay was attentive to our questions and requests. He was straightforward and accurate with his pricing. And when the time came to actually build, Jay and his team displayed the utmost in professionalism and trustworthiness. It is impossible to give a higher recommendation than we do for Mainstay. They simply do things the right way, with a friendly, honest approach. We could not be happier with our new living space.

Mainstay designed the backyard of our dreams. The outdoor kitchen, patio, fire pit and plants are so beautiful and functional. The Team at Mainstay was wonderful to work with. They were professional, meticulous, and very friendly. Thank you for all your hard work, Mainstay. We love our new space!

MainStay has been instrumental in the design and management of the various garden's of our families summer residences in Oyster Harbors, MA. We had to do a complete renovation and redesign project that required MainStay to effectively shape our visual ideas and wishes into reality and modernize its maintenance. They did both perfectly. I would strongly recommend Jay and his company to any family or business that wants a consummate professional who can both implement and control the most simple or complex garden design projects.

The MainStay team did a massive redesign of our Boston city garden and patio. They brought tremendous vision, creativity, hard work and execution to the project. The end result completely exceeded our expectations! We now benefit from a beautiful yard that provides so much outdoor living space. The MainStay team is professional, respectful and wonderful to work with. We cannot recommend them enough!

MainStay is amazing. They redesigned our patio under budget, faster than they thought it may take and the end result far exceeded our expectations. We recently sold our apartment and after our open house, our agent told us that there were multiple potential buyers "who were in awe" of how beautiful our patio was. I can't recommend Mainstay enough- they sent daily progress reports and even gained us goodwill with our neighbors who asked them to spruce up/trim some of their trees and bushes, which they did for free. Lackadaisical management, project has been drawn out for eons. Workers standing around listlessly, don't hire if you want a job done on time

As a visitor on a property where Mainstay was that day, I witnessed crew leaders speaking disrespectfully and rudely about their own employees. It was uncomfortable to hear and gave a very poor impression of the company.

Prior, I was thinking about using them but after this incident, I’ve recommended all of my friends and clients steer clear. I can’t support a business that engages in that behavior and I don’t recommend them to anyone. Do better.
