Fantastic service! I just need a few shingles replaced after a bad storm and they were able to come out next day to repair. Quick, easy and did a fantastic job.

We worked with Steve and Joe for an asphalt roof, soffit ventilation, and a roof repair on a sun room from a fallen tree. Steve was great to work with and he was the most communicative of the 10 or so roofing estimates we inquired about. I asked many technical questions as I am an engineer and very detail oriented by nature. They did everything they said they would do and did a quality job. Steve stuck out from the beginning as he called our town building department to find our local codes to find out what was legal as other conractrors were saying that you could put a metal roof over 2 layers of asphalt roof. The roof and sunroom repair was done over 2 days and they cleaned up the yard pretty well. Steve was always easy to get a hold of and really had awesome customer service. They are not the cheapest gig in town but you can trust them and they do quality work. I would hire again. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about my experience

Steve, and Joe, and Erik were top professionals and hard workers. The work they provided for our kitchen was amazing. Their craftmanship, creativity, and buttoned up work was much appreciated! Stella completely gutted and redid my bathroom a few years back and did an amazing job! My condo association (and I) have used them for several projects since then and they always do a great job!

Erik and Steve are amazing. We are working with Erik Kortz on construction of Zia Gianna Bakery and Italian Caffè in DORCHESTER Mass where Stella did the New counter top, the tile work, plumbing, and painting and the restaurant looks amazing. Thank you Erik for your dedication and great workmanship. Steve Balsavich is working on our roof for he condo where we live in DORCHESTER and I must say Steve knows his stuff. The complexity of roofs and all the workmanship that goes into a new roof is amazing. Steve is thorough and explains everything really really really well. Thanks Steve! I have now worked extensively with Erik from Stella Construction and Home Services for over a year now after buying a home that needed some significant work. Erik and his men (his own plus his subcontractors) put in a new kitchen (complete with moving the kitchen to a different room of the house), transformed a porch into an beautiful mudroom/laundry room, gutted both my bathrooms, replaced rotten floors, replaced all my plumbing, upgraded my electrical, installed a patio, built a deck, and repaired numerous other things for me. Erik has been stellar to work with as he is highly communicative and organized. He first impressed me by the detailing of his work estimate after our first meeting which included many small details of how I wanted the work done and gave an excellent cost breakdown of everything. I found after much of the work was finished that he completely honors his estimates and honors the work. In fact, I recently found a few things had been left undone and he still came back to fix them even though we had both thought the punch list was completed months ago. If you need work done on your house, this is the company to trust as they really listen to what you want and take pride in their work. I am so happy in my newly renovated home!

My wife and I spent over a year and a half having multiple contractors into our home to give quotes on removing our current roof deck in Dorchester to re-build and expand it using composite decking. The quotes we received were all over the place and nobody really gave us the warm fuzzy feeling that they knew what they were doing so we ended up postponing the project year after year Finally I happened to use Home Advisor and received a call from Eric at Stella.

He had phoned me pretty quick after putting in the first request and he seemed friendly and knowledgeable. He visited our home and within a week we had a quote - it was the first one that seemed reasonable. Eric was also able to explain how the process would work, the timeframe, the materials, etc. He put my wife, myself, our dog and our 2 year old son very much at ease. We had the usual process take place with the city of Boston - zoning board meetings, abutter meetings - once that was done Eric and his team started their work - they ended up beginning around the beginning of December - they were on our roof during the coldest days (if you're reading this any time during me writing this, you'll remember when the temperate was close to zero in December of 2017)

The crew was up there on our roof and everybody working was considerate, friendly, and adept at what they were doing. I think there was a crew of five in total and our 3.5 year old learned all their names. They were super friendly and extremely thorough with the project. The roof deck looks magnificent and we can't wait for spring to come to turn it into an urban forest and garden up there. During the process I also met the other two owners - Joe and Steve - along with Eric you find three young men who are adept at their craft and above all else, friendly, honest and seem to somehow encompass an integrity in their workmanship and business model that I fear is normally lacking in the trades these days.

We referred them to my brother and sister in law in Quincy and they've already done projects there inside - I believe they've also hired Stella to do a second story addition to their home. We will be hiring them to do some more projects in our condo as well come spring time In conclusion - it's rare to find a builder or contractor these days who puts the customer first, who does a great job, and who goes above and beyond what they say they are going to do and actually follow through with quality and competence - Stella somehow does it splendidly and I wouldn't hesitate to refer them to anybody out there who needs a project done

Steve, his father, and the Stella team did a great job informing me of my options for roof replacement. (standard triple decker-flat roof) I was pleased Steve explained the options Sika Sarnafil vs Rubber. I ended up with Sika Sarnafil due to the reflective nature of the product (it's white vs black), and the method to bond the material together is much stronger. Overall, I am very pleased to have worked with Steve and his team, and I look forward to lower cooling costs this upcoming Summer.

I worked with Erik at Stella Construction on a bathroom addition in my basement. Erik is knowledgeable, easy going and a pleasure to work with. He came by my house to look at the space and worked with me on getting a bathroom design that worked and gave some very sound advises on how to proceed with the project while staying within the budget my wife and I had. After about two weeks of going over different ideas, we had a contract signed. My wife and I were expecting a child at the time and asked if he could help moving up the timeline, he agreed to help and got the permit process going the day after the contract was signed. Construction started a few days later.

The project took a little under two months. Erik and his team did solid work and cleaned up every evening before leaving the basement. He was super responsive, replies within minutes to email, text, or calls, and addresses any concerns or changes that my wife and I had promptly.

I would definitely work with him again and would recommend him to my family and friends for any future renovations.

I am very picky when it comes to hiring contractors. It's very hard to find someone that is reliable and does what they say they are going to do. Stella Construction was amazing. They completed the work in my Secord floor appartment (painting, installing new windows, plastering and installing vanity and cabinet in bathroom). I'm very happy with the quality of the work and work highly recommend Stella Construction. They did an amazing job and the new tenants are very excited.

Very satisfied! Stella recently installed 19 Andersen windows at my home and I could not have been happier. It was a complex job, with two huge picture windows that required masonry work, replacing all window sills, interior and exterior paint work, and removing the old windows, which was no easy feat. Steve, who led the installation effort, was friendly, accommodating, and took the time to ensure the job was done right. We were thrilled with the result. The windows fit perfectly and look great. Everyone we worked with from Stella was professional and courteous, in addition to being skilled pros. The painters did a fantastic job, and even painted a few areas away from the windows that needed touching up. Similarly, with the mason work, done by Bruce, they went above and beyond. Erik Kortz, co-owner of Stella, was very responsive from beginning to end, did a great job of setting expectations for when they could schedule the effort and the options and cost. He took a lot of worries I may have had for such a big project. Overall, I'm thrilled I chose Stella and it was a great value - less expensive than two other estimates I received. I highly recommend them for any effort!

My husband and I worked with Stella Construction on a renovation of our recently purchased home built in 1930. Our project included fixing the plaster walls and ceilings, completely redoing the bathroom and kitchen, refinishing the floors, extensive electrical work, painting the entire interior of the home and replacing the roof. Despite many challenges with subcontractors and supply stores, Erik the owner went above and beyond to make this project turn out exactly the way we wanted. He is very responsive and happy to answer any questions or concerns you have throughout the project timeline. We also added the bathroom and kitchen renovations midway through the project, significantly changing the scope of work, which Erik was kind enough to agree to and make happen for us. It is clear that Stella Construction cares deeply about the quality of their work and ensuring that their customers are happy with the final product. We love our renovated home and look forward to living in it for many years to come.

We hired Stella to repair and expand our old deck. The previous deck was in disarray and the installation was not great. They helped us find creative ways to reuse as much of the existing structure as possible, to help save money. Eric helped navigate the supply shortages, to get the exact composite board and railings that we wanted, and we couldn't be happier. In addition, Stella repaired our front steps, which every other contractor wanted to tear down, saving us over $5k, repaired our soffits and gutters on our house, and we even used them for a roof replacement. I plan on working with them as much as possible for all future upgrades to our house

I had used Stella for a previous small repair to a leaking bay window, and they were the first people I contacted about a rebuild of my front porch and stairs.
This was the biggest project I had ever undertaken as a homeowner so far and I met with Steve who gave me a detailed proposal and quote and allowed me to add on the project with a couple of smaller exterior issues. The other contractor who got back to me gave me conflicting info on what needed to be done and just sent me a email quote with no details. Even though Stella had the higher quote and the more extensive work plan, I knew we were not cutting corners.
It took a while to get the permits so we waited to get started, but once they got started they worked fast and efficiently. My neighbors have given us compliments and I no longer have my fall patch and paint work to worry about.
I hate making a fuss (don't want to be that difficult customer!) and when I spotted a few minor issues, Steve sent a couple of workers back (thanks, Eddie!) to fix things. That was really easy and painless and I'm glad I asked.
I'm so happy it's all done and I now am looking around at other stuff I would like to do! I would certainly trust Stella again and will always call them first. They really put me at ease.

We hired Stella after a neighbor's glowing review. Our main full bath was in desperate need of an overhaul which included ripping out everything down to the studs / subfloor and changing around the locations of fixtures / electrical. We did a walk through in August, got quoted, and paid the initial invoice in mid-September. Work began at the beginning of November with an estimated time of 6-8 weeks.

Our Project Manager Kevin was great - he was incredibly responsive and had the trades lined up for the entire project so that there wasn't too much time lost. But even with that the project took longer than expected due to some change orders (driven mostly by us) and the holidays. In the end the total timeline was closer to 3 months, but it was 100% worth it. We are so happy with both the rough / finish work the team did. We plan on using them again for our next projects.

I had a great experience working with Erik, Kevin, and the whole team at Stella Construction on my recent bathroom renovation. Kevin was my project manager, and it was a pleasure to work with him day in and day out. We had an extremely tight and inflexible timeline, and there were some additional considerations given that my project was prompted by a water leak and the resulting insurance claim. Kevin and Erik kept everything on schedule from Day 1 through to the very end despite all the various challenges we encountered along the way. Kevin and Erik were both extremely communicative and responsive, so it was easy to discuss next steps at various junction points and get all my questions answered. The end result is beautiful, and it is clear the whole team takes great pride in their work. My neighbors who had to live through the renovations next door commented that the whole team was extremely kind and conscientious throughout the project. As the ultimate testament to a job well done, I would certainly not hesitate to embark on another project together. Professional, skilled, friendly, and communicative -- a great experience all around! Thank you!

Stella was great to work with and very fair on pricing. I never felt like I didn’t know what step in the process we were in and had constant updates and communication. I never felt insecure having them in my home and all of the workers were friendly, personable, and hardworking. I look forward to working with Stella again on another project. Having a company I know and trust takes stress out of the home renovation process.

Well what can I say about Steve and his team from Stella Construction?, ... Amazing! From the moment I met Steve I knew he was the guy I wanted to work with. From his visit for an estimate to the amount of email sent from him keeping in touch when the weather this spring would not cooperate with us to the politeness of his workers at my home on the day of job and then last but not least all of the photos sent to me of my job before during and after my roof transformation! If you are looking for a Construction company that does what they say and keeps you in the loop the whole time Steve and the rest of Stella Construction should be your team. I hired Stella after meeting with Steve. I instantly knew I was dealing with a professional. Steve explained the job in great detail. The job entailed replacing the roof and some gutters on our home and garage. I hired Stella and less than a week later, Steve's crew showed up to my home. His guys work HARD! They finished the work in about a day and a half and my house has never looked better. I always get compliments on my roof and gladly refer Stella. If you want a contractor who does what they say, is honest, and timely - look no further!

We originally met with Steve for an estimate to replace our roof, but before he came over for the first meeting a tree fell on our sunroom, and so we needed additional repairs associated with that damage. Steve came over and was very patient with my questions, gave me multiple estimates for a few different scopes of work, and was very willing to help me deal with the insurance process (though that turned out not to be necessary). Though his estimate wasn't the cheapest, his excellent customer service was above and beyond compared to the other roofing companies. Steve was always responsive to our questions and did a great job keeping us updated on schedule and progress as the project moved forward. The roof and sunroom now both look great! Overall I had a very positive experience with all of Stella Construction's employees and would definitely work with them again.

I hired Stella to replace my front porch, which was sagging after years of neglect by the previous owner. The project included demolishing the old structure before building the new porch and roof, along with pouring new footings and repairing some of the stucco. The crew that worked on this showed up every day were professional and courteous, and worked hard from the time they arrived until they finished for the day. While there was a few days in between the completion of the porch and the stucco to finish the project, unlike other contractors that i have hired, Stella showed up every day and didn't leave the project half finished to go work on something else. I had a few different companies bid on the project and i am very happy that i went with Stella.
