I worked with Black River Stone to fix a drainage issue along my house, build a patio, and replace a set of rotting railroad tie steps along the cabin.

Gabe and Max were awesome to work with. They suggested a flagstone patio, with layered blue/brown natural stone steps. They also suggested we do a natural stone curb around the entire patio to add some durability.

The crew showed up on the day we had scheduled the project and they were done ahead of schedule. Their attention to detail on the entire project was great, especially on the stone work. They also regraded the entire driveway and added some material into the low spots.

We had a great experience working with these young men on our backyard pool landscaping project. Hardworking, prompt, courteous,and lot's of great ideas. Highly recommend!

Max was amazing to work with. My fence blew down in a windstorm and he was very helpful in figuring out what the right thing to do was. Through the entire project from figuring out what we wanted to dealing with the insurance company he knew exactly how to do all of it to perfection. You got a returning customer out of me! THANK YOU!

Gabe and Max are amazing! They work hard and efficiently and do such a great job. I have them back every year to spruce up my landscaping and they’re so helpful. They go above and beyond to make sure it looks great all summer.

Black River did everything a good contractor should do and so much more. They gave me a firm, reasonable price, showed up exactly when they said they would and went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy and that the finished boulder retaining wall looked very professional. I would definitely use them again.

Rarely do I insist on paying a contractor more than what they charged but Black River (Max and Gabe) went above and beyond in every way! We hired them to do a fall yard refresh and their attention to detail was incredible. Admittedly our yard was in rough shape. They cleaned and edged everything, reset stone pads, replaced plants, did it all. 5 star work all around. Plus, they clearly communicated schedule and then stuck to that. And they cleaned up after themselves! They also are just nice guys. Hard workers, pleasant to deal with, responsive, and master craftsmen. At the end I insisted on paying them more than they billed because I was so impressed. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Over the years I’ve worked with many contractors on different house projects. Unlike other contractors, Black River started on time, finished on time and finished on budget. I was impressed that while young, they do the work and own the business. This ownership and investment showed in their approach to the project and quality of their work product. The scape of my project included hardscapes, plantings and sod, all of which turned out beautifully. On top of that, they were minimally disruptive and tidied up after. Would definitely use Max and Gabe again!
