This is THE place to go if you need work done on on an alternator, starter, generator, etc. Shops this dependable are few and far between. It's not often you find a work ethic as good as theirs.

Craig found the starter I needed and the price was very reasonable. Very professional service and I'd highly recommend you give this business a look if you're in the market for a starter.

Brought in Bosch generator and regulator off of my '66 Volvo 1800 to be checked out and repaired if necessary. Generator checked out OK and regulator was re-set to specs. Work was done within a week at a reasonable price.

This small shop relocated from downtown St. Paul a few years ago to a location much closer to my home !! They have helped me with 5-7 alternators and a few electric motors too. Their results have been terrific ! They are always very honest, cordial, and detailed in their work ! Highly recommended !

We use Generator Specialties for heavy-duty applications and Craig is great. Excellent service and generally swift turn around. He goes the extra mile to help us out and it’s always with a smile which, as it relates to the folks I encounter in my line of work, tends to be the exception, not the rule.

These guys fixed my 1946 Jeep starter and it was 2/3 of the cost of a new knock off. Thing went into the shop looking rough and not operating well. It left the shop looking and working like brand new. Exceeded my expectations. Will use this place again for all generator, starter and alternator repair.

Not many places are taking on the tough jobs. Generator specialty was able to provide a great, and confident product for a rare vintage application. Price and quality are top notch!! Cant recommend enough

I brought in my '55 Plymouth 6 volt starter, and they repaired it fast and charged a fair price. They went above and beyond to make it work good as new, would highly recommend using these guys to anyone needing automotive electrical repairs for starters, alternators, and generators.

My 1945 John Deere GM tractor needed a freshening up including the generator and regulator. Quick turnaround and fairly priced, I'm glad to have found them. Thank you.

Great vendor I use frequently. Been doing business with them for over a decade. Repair work is unmatched in the state and Craig is very helpful and knowledgeable. Great electric motor, starter, and alternator repair. They use high quality parts in their repairs, producing a high quality alternative to buying new. not many shops like this still exist, a great asset to have in your repertoire if you are in the maintenance/ repair business.

Im giving this place a 1 star because its the lowest i can go it deserves -5 stars, i brought a generator off of a 1971 Montgomery Ward tractor that im rebuilding i wanted to keep it original so i decided to have the original generator rebuilt to keep the patina and i told the guy there that i also wanted to get a quote before he went ahead to be sure i could afford it. Well he didn't write any of that down and forgot and 3 weeks later i go in to see if he got a quote ready yet and he tells me the generator is done the paint is drying, He brought out my generator it was HORRIBLY PAINTED THE WRONG!! COLOR!!! We got in an argument about how i said i wanted to keep it original and he said he didn't see that in his notes and that i was wrong and because that they were busy that's just how they did it. The generator seems to work so far. ALL I NEED TO DO NOW IS GO BACK IN TIME TO 1971 TO GET THE RIGHT PAINT!!!!!!!!

It's probable these guys do good work. If you have a few weeks to wait for them to look at it, then a few more weeks for the work to happen. Good luck with these jokers
