My meter was wrong I guess. Your tech showed 240 VAC, mine showed 350 VAC. At least I knew it was safe to hook up new unit.

Actually , I have used Porter Electric twice now. The first time was for help with the installation of a fireplace insert. The second time was for the installation of a new voltage system for my new electric car in our garage. Both times they were efficient, reasonable and reliable. I highly recommend them!

Porters went above and beyond! We had a nightmare situation and Chad reassuringly said we could have what we wanted. Our home finally came together after three years. We are so grateful they continued to work with us. Everyone was very respectful and professional. Highly recommended

From start to finish this company has been amazing. With the wind our power line had fallen in our backyard. They were quick to respond. They were on time and were friendly and polite. I will most definitely use Porter Electrical again and recommend them to anyone looking for electrical work!!

Chad and his team are great to work with. They ran my hot tub and added electricity to our shed. Just called them back 2 yrs later to add outdoor lighting to the shed. A+!

I hired Porters electric to install ceiling fans and recessed lighting in 4 bedrooms in a house my wife and I were remodeling in the spring of 2023. I was upfront in the fact that the house was older and there may be some electric issues they encounter and asked they just communicate with me if there are - I never heard back regarding any issues that would have been a road block on the job. Initially, there were some problems with a breaker that was tripping when the living rooms lights got turned on, but that was resolved. Fast forward 6 months and I went in my attic to install a TV antenna and viewed the electric work from the top down that was done for the first time and was very disappointed. There are no push in connectors or cable clamps to secure the wire from being pulled out on any of the light fixtures or junction boxes. None of the junction boxes are secured to the ceiling joist and are free hanging in the insulation. None of the wire was pushed back in the junction boxes and no junction box covers were installed, leaving all the wires exposed. An excessive amount of wire was used, creating a tripping hazard over all the bedrooms and is sitting loose. They pulled power from a circuit that already had 3 lines coming out of it and now it has 6. 14 gauge and 12 gauge wires were used interchangeable on a 20 amp breaker. Frankly, it’s a fire hazard. I’ve been slowly working my way through some of the issues, but disappointed I have to redo the work of a professional electric company I hired to do this for me. It's been a year and a half later now and I've still never been contacted in an attempt to fix any of the hazards they put in my attic.
