Love the streamline process Celebrity Homes has!

Gotta be the best home builders in the midwest for sure.
-
A lot of house and energy efficient for the money but the work quality was poor on several items.

I had my celebrity home built in 2016. In the last 5 years, I have run into several issues that are the direct result of poor construction. Most recently, I incurred water damage under my sink. The plumbers that came out said that one of the pipes used was too short.
However, they also noticed that my kitchen sink is detaching from my granite because Celebrity neglected to install one of the brackets holding up my sink. The fix will now cost me $600.
This is one example of many aspects of the initial build that celebrity neglected to complete. I am not talking about things that "break" , I am talking missing steps and pieces. These homes are built with a focus on quantity and corners are cut often.
When I moved in, half of the wall plates for cable and electrical outlets were not even screwed in. If you must use this builder, I would suggest thoroughly inspecting every nook and cranny to ensure the job is done correctly. -
Suburbia. If you want your kids to have any sort of freedom, do not raise them in a location like this.

So far warranty issues have been a nightmare. The company is not responsive and every time they have done a "repair" there seems to be more damage than repair.
-
Celebrity has horrible customer service. They take YEARS to fix warranty submissions and do a horrible job fixing them. Almost every person I have encountered has been rude. I have nothing good to say about this company.

Almost bought a celebrity home. We went in to see the models and really like them, but our realtor was out of town. We were led to believe that our realtor could still be included in all interactions. When our realtor got back into town, we were told that Celebrity could in no way recognize our realtor as a party. We said okay and were willing to independently pay our realtor to help us review the contracts and help us monitor construction. Celebrity told us even if we did that they would not allow a realtor to help us with contracts or come see the lot to point out possible construction errors. I pointed out that I did not want a celebrity agent representing me, building my home, and monitoring construction because it seemed like a conflict of interest. I was laughed at, told neither I nor my realtor knew what we were talking about, and informed that with the market the way it is Celebrity didn't need us. Pretty terrible customer service experience overall. I can only imagine it gets worse if you're trying to point out construction errors.

Gary Price was not great to work with
His “about me” bio says- “I have been helping families move into their new homes for over 30 years. My knowledge, patience and understanding is what sets me apart from the others. I am available to you and your family 7 days a week and I am only satisfied when you are living the American dream.
Then after we decided to take a different route he sends this text,
“So you’re going to keep paying rent and wait until home prices are much higher? That doesn’t make any sense to me but you gotta do what you think. “ pretty professional from a guy claiming 30 years in the business. Also hilarious that he thinks he can predict the market. -
They are a complete joke of a company. As an Operator of a business, I would be embarrassed if I worked for Celebrity. I wonder why the Owner of Celebrity homes did not have his company build his house?
My front steps will have to be completely redone and I am being told that It will not be covered due to the 3 month laps in warranty. However foundation issues are covered for longer. I have attached phots so that you are able to see. all I am asking is that they do their job right and do the right thing. mind you this house is not even 2 years old yet. -
Proceed with caution.
The builder will try to screw you over financially, more than once. I only recommend building with this company if you know your rights as home buyers, and understand they are not a company with good morals and will fight you for every penny you’re worth. They don’t care about their customers or their customer service. They will change contracts and gaslight you. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS and have attorneys on hand to look over your paperwork.
We saw the reviews prior to starting this process. We are wishing we listened to the reviews and never started this process to begin with. Once again, proceed with caution. The homes are beautiful but in our opinion the company is slimy, shady and not worth your time or money.
Save your money while you can and invest with a different builder.
