Very professional and well run company and the service they provide in my case tick and mosquito, about 1.1 acres in northern New Jersey, is beyond effective and worth the cost.

I can't say enough about these guys. They are amazing. I had to decide what to do about a struggling tree over a hundred years old and close to 2 houses. I talked to several companies before choosing Almstead. They were impressive from start to finish and had competitive pricing. Ryan is not only ISA certified, but has special ISA Tree Risk Assessment certification. He gave me strategies and probabilities around possible care for the tree, but also an honest appraisal of the situation. I took it down. They are a team of true professionals. I have never seen a tree company operate like they did. Everything was totally under control which, considering the location, was a major relief. This is a difficult and dangerous job, but they handled it like clockwork, as if it were nothing. The guy finishing the last part of the job became plastered with wood chips as he worked in the cold and, at times, heavy rain to make sure everything was cleaned up, refusing to take a break, saying it had to be finished on schedule, and asking for approval at the end. It looked great. Almstead was accommodating in every way possible, including moving quickly. The entire process could not have gone more smoothly. They were honest, pleasant, and did what they said when they said. They supplied all necessary insurance and license info well in advance. No problems or delays. I could not have been more impressed and relieved with the whole experience. I have already called them about more work, this time to plant.

Almstead service is great and reliable. They will let you know when they're going to be on the property and if they don't they let you know that as well to reschedule. Our lawn is well cared for thanks to them

Top of the line professionalism.

Suddenly a large section of a fifteen-foot 40 year old arborvitae hedge had turned brown, I couldn't imagine what happened!

I have a local fellow who comes in to cut the grass and trims the shrubs, but he did not know what was wrong. He suggested one of the "big lawn service companies" - and I started researching!

I called Almstead and met a day or two later with Jonathan who immediately knew it was bag worms! The hedge was FILLED with them! I honestly thought what I was seeing was part of the trees...maybe seed pods or a sort of "pine" comb thing.....but really they were cocoons!

Jon looked at all trees and shrubs on the property, and observed other issues, but was confident with proper care the issues could be remedied.

I learned a LOT about what spotted lanternflies go after, why I should re-think the Boston ivy on the bottom of two trees, and what those little white spots are on some of the leaves on my ornamental maple.......Jon is just a wealth of knowledge.

Almstead came and spayed pest control and fertilizer just last week, and I remain buoyed by Jon's confidence. Almstead will be returning in the fall to prune the trees.

Oscar and his Team were excellent and helped me with cutting the trees down efficiently and diligently - Oscar had to get the permission from another company to go on their side of property in order to take care of my trees and nothing was touched and or broken. They were wonderful and very cooperative. Very glad that I used Almstead Services.

I'm pleased to give a review of Tim. He was accommodating with a smile, and in no hurry as is the case of most our people down this way, always in a hurry. It really made an impression, a strong one at that. I trusted his opinions to the few questions I did have for I could tell he knew what he was talking about. Had Almstead come in to prune and cable an eight stalk red oak. The "tree climbers" were amazing. The job was done expertly, efficiently and clean-up was perfect. Two previous companies had declined the job as too big for them.
I will not hesitate to use Almstead in the future for additional work that needs to be done around the property.

We had a lot of damage with many of our trees after the ice/snow storm in December 2019. After several estimates we went with Almstead Tree, Shrub & Lawn Care Co.

Oscar and his staff had full understanding of the scope of work needed to remove the fallen tree branches and the required pruning of our trees.

They were punctual,respectful and took great care cleaning up our property.

Almstead Tree and Shrub is concerned about maintaining trees and other plants. On repeated visits over the years, arborist Oscar Winfrey remembers details about tree work that has been done in our yard. The crew is very skilled when trimming in the tops of trees when teamwork is so important. I recommend this company to others.

I went through a half dozen services before settling on Almstead. They cost more, but I honestly lost so much money by hiring slightly less pricey establishments who eventually did shoddy work that needed to be corrected. Enter Almstead. They installed a polished landscape that I wish I had gotten years ago. Like a pricey car or nice hotel- once you have a perfect experience there's no going back.

All of the staff, the technicians, the pruners, and the arborists have been highly trained and good quality individuals. I am particularly in praise of their arborists. First Jon and now Oscar Winfrey. Oscar is very knowledgable, punctual, responsive and accommodating. The service he has provided has been exceptional. I also want to include that I have used Almstead Tree and Shrub for years. I needed a company that could provide completely organic care of my grass, trees and shrubs. Over the years, my land has achieved a beautiful and healthy biome. My property stands out in the neighborhood. All the wildlife are very happy here. My garden is my Sanctuary.

Almstead Tree Care Co. removed a 110' Oak from my backyard yesterday. I have used several other arborists in the past, but will never search again. Almstead was so careful not to hit my porch as other arborists have done in past. The men working on the tree were polite, professional and most of all, experts in their field. Oscar, the arborist, kept me informed of when they would arrive, when the cut logs would be removed and when they would grind the stump. I was happy from start to finish and highly recommend them.

The best tree care company in the area, period! Friendly staff and super knowledgable arborists.
