Great job.

Don't bother, this company has a terrible attitude and delivers nothing. They're only looking to scam you.
-
Avoid this company if you value your time. They'll try to strong-arm you into paying for services you never agreed on or had done in the first place.
-
Unsatisfactory service - they didn't even fix the AC and likely made it worse, yet still billed us nothing.

Avoided a disaster with these HVAC pros. The insurance company screwed them over, but they still managed to show up just in time - a lifesaver. Not impressed at all.

This experience would be a complete waste of time. I signed up for the Homeserve plan in October 2023, expecting reliable service for my air conditioning unit.
Fast forward to June 2024, when the unit on the second floor suddenly stopped working altogether. I called Homeserve immediately, but it took days to get an appointment due to extreme heat and a lack of available providers in the area. Finally, Aurora HVAC Service was assigned to our request, but they just told us that the freon levels were depleted and would need 10 pounds to be replaced at $100 per pound.
Homeserve only covers one pound, so we ended up paying for the remaining nine pounds ourselves. The unit worked for a few weeks before shutting down again. When I reached out to Homeserve for another service call, a new provider came a few days later and claimed there was a leak in the system. They also stated that our unit couldn't hold 10 pounds of freon.
The new provider checked with Homeserve and they assured us that the original company would be sent over. I also contacted the manufacturer of my air conditioning unit, who told me it had a maximum capacity of six pounds of freon. Aurora called me back and quoted an outrageous $12,000 to replace the unit and fix other issues.
They never even bothered to come back and assess the leak. In the end, I had to hire another provider who diagnosed the issue correctly and fixed it at a fair price. Homeserve then denied my reimbursement claim, citing that I agreed to pay Aurora for their services. This is despite me trusting them as a reliable company backed by Homeserve.
I was left with a hefty bill of $900 in poor work and subpar customer service. My advice would be to keep your money and hire honest providers instead of relying on an unreliable service like Homeserve. -
Stay away from this company if you value your time and money. They showed up unannounced after being sent by our insurance provider to check on our heating and cooling systems. The technician was friendly enough, but wasted only a few minutes identifying both issues with our units.
When the insurance claim went through, the sales team pounced, pushing for a cash payment of $4,000 and demanding we schedule the installation for the next day. This put me on high alert, and I asked for a detailed breakdown of the costs before proceeding. That's when I started digging into their reviews and discovered a pattern of questionable practices with insurance customers.
I got the breakdown, but what I saw made my alarm bells ring even louder. The list included modifications that were clearly items we wouldn't be covering out-of-pocket. It dawned on me that they were trying to pawn off extra expenses on unsuspecting homeowners. When I questioned this further, I was met with resistance.
I was told in writing that these mods were necessary because the new unit would somehow cause our house to explode if not made. I didn't think much of it at first, but when I double-checked with my insurance provider and confirmed we were getting the same 410A unit, they essentially shut down their sales pitch. However, this only seemed to enrage them further.
I received a call from one of their representatives, who became agitated and hostile as soon as I asked her about why these mods would be needed if the original claim was for the exact same unit. The conversation continued for 15 minutes, with me calmly reiterating my question, while she refused to provide any answers.
Needless to say, I walked away from this deal, but I'm sharing my experience in the hopes that others might avoid falling prey to their scams. -
I had an issue with my air conditioning not working, so I called Aurora's HVAC services. They said the problem was that my unit was low on refrigerant and I needed to pay £7 per pound for a new canister, which costs $80 per pound - I'd have to shell out $560 upfront in cash. The company I'm covered by through Home Warranty confirmed this, but told me they wouldn't fix it without me paying the technician directly.
The guy who came to fix my unit arrived within half an hour and got it working again perfectly. He suggested that if this company was buying gas for my compressor, there's something fishy going on - the factory's capacity is supposedly 6.07 units, but I'm not convinced they're being upfront about their intentions.
I've tried to get in touch with Aurora's, but they never respond and their automated system only allows me to leave a message twice before hanging up. When I called Sears Home Warranty, they told me to contact the technician directly - which I did - and warned me that paying him cash in front would be unwise. Later, when I asked for help getting my money back through email, it felt like a joke. -
I hired this company through Home Serv, one of the worst experiences I've had. They made two scheduling attempts and failed to show up or follow up. The service was completely unprofessional. If you can't do a job, don't take it on - that's my advice. It's puzzling that Home Serv still partners with this company despite their poor track record of customer complaints.

We were left frustrated with Aurora, assigned to us through our home warranty plan. They initially confirmed over the phone but failed to show up. We tried to get in touch afterwards, only to experience disconnection on the call and no response to our texts. We ended up canceling the service with our home warranty provider and will choose a different company for professional help. This experience has raised concerns about their professionalism, especially considering we have a young child at home dealing with a blown AC unit - it's disappointing that they couldn't provide assistance sooner, potentially saving us 48 hours of inconvenience.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! I'm sharing my horrific experience to warn others from falling into the same trap. This company is completely unprofessional, lacking even basic knowledge of their work. They ruined our furnace, leaving it in a state that no one would dare touch, and now they're trying to capitalize on this mess by insisting you hire them to replace it.
When we asked another contractor to assess the damage, they told us that no one would repair it due to the way it was left. We were torn between accepting Aurora's offer (cheaper with our warranty) or facing a potentially costly replacement. The pressure was relentless, but not because of urgency – it was because they didn't want to lose the job.
What really took the cake was when we requested to pay at their office, only to be met with hostility and an apparent lack of understanding about basic customer service. It's clear that this was a subcontracted job, and it shows in their approach. We managed to secure a new furnace and AC system from another company, which was fantastic. Don't make the same mistake we did – steer clear of this company at all costs! -
Beware of this vendor through HomeServe. They're a complete scam artist, deliberately botching jobs and pushing high-pressure sales. You'll be stuck with the bill to fix their mistakes. After speaking out, they've been removed from HomeServe's approved list - hopefully, it'll keep others safe.

I was supposed to have a service on September 4th between 6 and 9pm, but when I called to confirm the day before, they assured me someone would be there. However, I didn't get anyone. I also tried to reach out the day of the scheduled appointment, only to be ignored. The next day, I received a cancellation notification. As a result, I lost a full day of work and had my AC working for less time than necessary. After this experience, I contacted another HVAC company, which arrived at my home on the same day. Given their unprofessional behavior, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time with them. They clearly don't prioritize customer satisfaction or respect your schedule.
