They are experts at not locating all the problems on the first service , and then you have to pay again ….. all the while making excuses. They don’t honor their warranty .
A large part of their business model is ripping people off on the Freon charging between 11-16x the price they pay in an industry where the typical upcharge is less than 7x.
They don’t return calls a large percentage of the time . Other than that they are ok, lol.
Bring the Vaseline when you have to pay them ….. you will definitely need it -
I had been using this company for over 7 years. I had both my upstairs and downstairs systems replaced with them. Satisfied till the last 3 years. Every time their maintenance person has come out in the last three years and gives my systems an excellent report, a week or so later, I am having to pay to get something repaired. One I started complaining, they stopped calling back! I am going to get this last thing fixed cause I think they caused it. But I will never use them again. Very poor customer service! Almost feels like a scam!

I have been trying for months to get my AC fixed in summer through a Home Warranty program on a rental. As I write this, they still have not been able to fix the problem! Early on, even with Home Warranty program they overcharged me $640.00 that I had to figure out and claw back. In the meantime the tenant has had to move out of the property, which has created a whole other set of issues! The process of even getting through to someone is even more frustrating, especially when you get "Mr. AI". I don't recall having a more pathetic experience with a company.
I have left out a lot of the gory details... Simply put, HIRE them only if you enjoy mental anguish, frustration and shoddy work... -
I tried to deal directly with business, I have plenty of opportunity to take responsibility and they did not. So here we go, I will be brief.
- a/c runs fine except in extreme temperatures.
- techs Trever and Hakeem come out, tells me it’s leaking refrigerant, and system is old. Instead of a plan to fix he said the manager will need to come out and talk to me about it. Strange but ok.
- techs leaves, and 3 hours later I found that the A/C it is completely off even thermostat is off. Temperature above 85 in my upper floor.
- called the business -after hours- and they said the after hours tech will call. Two hours later I call again. And she says the same thing.
- I spend the night at a hotel, because tech leaves a/c off.
- the next day I call to complain, I am told manager is out in the field and I must give my complaint AGAIN to the dispatcher.
- she did not even say a single word to imply they take responsibility for the techs mistake. Instead she doubles down, and tells me it is better to leave it off. I said how is it that your decision? Again she tells me that’s how they “do things”
I am now waiting for a different company to come and check things out. I know I will have enough refrigerant. This company basically left me in a desperate situation so when the MANAGER (read salesman) comes out while I am roasting and sells me a 15k replacement hvac system.
This is a terrible business, no ethics, disrespectful and completely unprofessional. STAY CLEAR -
Extremely disappointing experience — would give zero stars if possible.
The technician from Comfort First told me that my compressor was broken and that the coolant replacement would cost an extra $2,000 even after the warranty coverage. Thankfully, I got a second opinion. The other technician found that the compressor was completely fine — the issue was simply an expired capacitor, which he replaced, and everything started working again.
What’s even more frustrating is that I had specifically asked the Comfort First technician if the capacitor was the problem, and he assured me it was in great shape. Why such a huge discrepancy in service and diagnosis? This kind of misinformation and upselling is unacceptable. Very disappointed.
