Lubbers & Sons were awesome--they were prompt, reasonably priced, and finished on time. They removed several very large trees overhanging our home without any damage to the house or yard, and did a great job of cleaning up. They were also very professional and went out of their way to be responsive and helpful.

We had Lubbers and Sons trim a few big trees that had dead branches that were over hanging our house. They did excellent work for a really reasonable cost. They are very knowledgeable about trees which helped us decide which ones needed attention. They were very easy to work with and we would recommend them to anyone needing tree work done.

I found that Lubbers and Sons Tree care was professional and provided a good service at a good value. This company has clear and prompt communication while providing quote, working onsite, over phone, and via email. They provided written descriptions of the work to be done as well as options and other information and followed up with receipt after everything was done. They were flexible enough to change the scope of work while on site. They had good practices and good equipment including saws, safety gear, climbing gear. They were reliable showing up when they said they would arrive and doing the work we agreed they would do.

Lubbers & Sons removed two large trees for us, some agave plants, ground down the stumps, and removed all the debris. They also cut the large trunk of one tree into manageable sections for use in our raised beds. We could not be more pleased with their work. They were on time, did excellent work, kept us informed at all times, and all at a price we could afford. They were very pleasant to work with too. We will certainly use them again. Highly recommended!

Lubbers and Sons did some great work for us and our community. We are replacing dying cherry trees with redbuds. These were done and more to do in 2025. The neighborhood looks great. They did work at our house treating a tree of heaven infestation. This will help with that problem getting too out of hand. They are very professional and we will use them again.

Excellent work. Very professional. They removed a giant 140 yr old oak tree that fell on my shed. They totally cleaned the area, removed some other debris not covered in the estimate, and cleaned along the street so as to leave no trace they were here.
I was also impressed with their safety training and proper equipment. A very professional company. I will be using them again for my tree care needs.

We needed multiple large trees around our house removed (wooded area). Lubbers & Sons were the only ones to provide a detailed estimate breaking down all costs and listing options.

They did the work in the days they had planned, were careful not to damage any property or vegetation, and left the work areas cleaner that when they arrived.

I can't say enough great things about the work Lubbers performed for us. During one of the recent storms, we had one side of a very large double tree fall. Sasha came out quickly and evaluated the other half that seemed very dangerous. They gave great advice, brought in a crane and took out the other side of the tree. While they were there, we had a few other large trees removed (took advantage of the crane being onsite). So in total, Lubbers removed 4 very large trees in one working day. I had a great experience with Lubbers & Sons Tree Care. I needed to have a maple tree removed from my front yard as well as some dead limbs removed from an adjacent oak tree. The work was scheduled and completed quickly, and the yard debris was cleaned up exceptionally well.

Sosha and the team at Lubbers are knowledgeable, responsive, fair, and really a pleasure to work with. They did some manicuring of a very large and old oak tree in our back yard. It was encroaching on utility lines as well as our home, and they carefully and efficiently took care of it without diminishing the beauty of the tree canopy. Highly recommend!

We have used Lubbers & Sons on several separate occasions for tree care and removal and they are fantastic!
Sosha and Tommy are incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, professional, and they clearly love what they do. They are thoughtful and engaged while touring your property, really listening to your concerns and offering solutions based on your needs. Part of what I appreciated the most about them is they are focused on preserving the trees if at all possible rather than being too quick to take them down. Their pricing is fair, and they really take the time to answer any questions or concerns you have throughout the process from start to finish.
My husband is a contractor and he routinely recommended them to his clients if they have any need for tree care or removal. We have also recommended them to friends, family and neighbors, and have heard glowing reviews across the board. They are simply the best in the business!

We recently bought a house on a heavily wooded lot. It’s a joy to be living amidst nature however, since the house was built, some of the trees had started taking over large areas of the original and intended yard. Several trees – because of hands off previous maintenance – had started leaning towards the house with tree branches almost touching the second floor and roots steadily marching towards the foundation. In all, a potentially threating situation in terms of safety. We didn’t want to wait for a storm to find that out.

Preparation
We found and reached out to Lubbers & Sons Tree Care. Sosha, a licensed arborist from Lubbers visited the house and reviewed each tree on the periphery of the house sharing opinion on tree health, prognosis, level of potential threat (or not), direction of future growth etc. She took copious notes for each of the trees, carefully identifying each tree under question and providing reasons for solving/retaining/steps for future health of the tree. Her notes helped me present my case to our HOA to seek permission for tree care and removal activities on the lot including cutting and pruning. Additionally, Sosha worked with me to find the right schedule and was extremely accommodative. A couple of days before the scheduled job, Tommy (crew leader at Lubbers) met with me to explain in detail the whole projects and ensure we are all aligned on specific trees and pathways for equipment etc. Tommy took special care to understand the location of utilities and equipment sensitive areas on the lot.

Project
Lubbers has an experienced crew and sophisticated machinery for a variety of tree care jobs. The team arrived well in time and provided a brief intro to me and instructions for safety. I was impressed with the focus on safety as I observed them prepare for the work. Since there was heavy equipment on the lot as well as in the neighborhood, the Lubbers crew took special care and made adequate preparations and signs to demarcate equipment and work areas to keep everybody alert.

Tree by tree, the team approached the project methodically, taking time to do the pruning, clearing vegetation, clearing limbs all the way to the top and then removing the trees that needed to be removed. Here I would like to mention that there was a huge oak almost leaning against the wall. It hurts me to let that tree go but it was an extreme hazard because of the way it was jutting against the house. The Lubbers crew invested significant time to prepare and remove the tree – this took the better part of a day! Some of other trees including extremely tall pines were quite challenging as well due to the height and mass as well as the harm potential. The Lubbers team made good work of the entire project in the three days that they were here. If we discovered additional needs during the project they were able to take care of those as well – for instance there were several overgrown bushes that needed to be removed – which the team did. Additionally, they also cleared up vegetation/ undergrowth that was directly in the path of the trees being removed.

The team showed up early, worked through the day, and cleaned up after each day’s work. Lubbers had all the equipment needed for on site removal and mulching of all the vegetation and they took special care to not leave anything else disturbed. They didn’t even leave equipment tire marks on the lot.

Overall Observations
I am extremely happy with the project that Lubbers and Sons delivered on. I am impressed with their professionalism, focus on crew and resident safety, knowledge and experience, advanced equipment, and just the overall optimistic and collaborative approach. They delivered on what they promised and they did it extremely well. I highly recommend them for any small or large tree related project.

We had Lubbers & Sons Tree Care out to our farm 3 times this past year - each visit for very different situations. They were very professional with clear communication, detailed estimates, and just all around excellent work. The 1st job they did for us was to take down a dead tree and another tree with cleaning up debris near it. They did an excellent job! The 2nd job they did for us, they cleaned up an extensive amount of debris along our long driveway and other areas that another tree service had left, as well as taking down more trees that needed to be cleared. They did exactly what we needed done and the area was left immaculate. The 3rd job required them to go out in our pastures and take down various trees leaning over our fencelines - they did a super job and cleaned everything up. Besides being excellent in their work, they are also very nice people to work with! I highly recommend them.

Lubbers and Sons felled a bunch of really big close in trees way beyond my DIY comfort level as part of our home storm resiliency strategy.
Hate to cut a beautiful tree but if you need it done this is (IMO) the outfit to do it. Its a dangerous business some jobs are best left to the pros.

The end to end process was great … starting with solid advice re: work we were interested in to not simply remove trees but protect others, getting a prompt and reasonable quote, quick scheduling, and most importantly Tommy and team were extremely professional, highly skilled and efficient. I called Lubbers to have two trees removed from my property in Chapel Hill. One tree was a white oak, about 15 inches around and the other was a sweet gum, about 20 inches around. Both trees had large crowns and were in a crowded environment so they both needed their tops removed before felling. Lubbers was easy to work with, worked with my schedule, showed up when they said they would and brought down the two trees with no problems. They are now in my contact list for any more tree work I'll need in the future. I would absolutely use Lubbers again. So, high praise for these guys!
