Alex was amazing to work with! He explained each step of the inspection process, gave easy to understand explanations of what he was looking for and when and why something was problematic.
His inspection report was thorough, detailed, and on time. Alex gave us practical recommendations for remedying problematic findings during his inspection. We highly recommend!!! He's an absolute gem!!!

A friend who's a structural engineer recommended Eaton after I had gone through a handful of home inspectors. He was informative and extremely thorough as he walked me through every little thing wrong with the home. It was my first time buying a home, but I've had some DIY experience at my folks home and assisting in PCAs. He found stuff I would have thought of and I have a great list of things to tackle in my home. Alex is an exteremly competent inspector. I would describe Alex as a strong buyer advocate. He always is concerned that is clients get the best information and always goes the extra mile. He is thorough and technicially competent. I would highly recommend Alex as an inspector to any one considering the purcahse of home or commercial building

I worked with Alex from Eaton Inspections. I'm having a new home built and was really unsure if I wanted to do an inspection. After all, it was a new home, what could be wrong. Well Alex found multiple issues that I'm fairly certain the builder was not going to relay to me.

I know very little about construction and Alex was extremely knowledgeable and had a knack for being able to explain things to me. He not only pointed out things that are an issue right now, but he was able to show me things to look for in the future so that I could fix something before it became an issue.

The report images were crisp and clear and the descriptions of the issues were very easy to follow. He was able to turn around and have the report to me within two days. This was very helpful to have during my final walkthrough with the builder.

I cannot express to you how grateful I am for Alex Lockstead and his company. He did a septic inspection on a house that we were looking to purchase and he was very educational, thorough, honest, professional and timely. He even came out the next day and added onto his already busy schedule. I found out that day that he also does full house inspections and I wouldn't want anyone else to do ours in the future.

Alex did our home inspection and I cannot say how much of a great job he did. He found a foundation issue, which is being fixed by the seller, which in total will cost around 40k. He is easy to talk to and work with. We love the home so it is nice that he saved us this cost.

Alex recently did a home inspection for me prior to purchasing a house. I showed up while he was doing the inspection and he took the time to explain to me what he was looking for, the things he had found, what it means/indicates. He took the time to explain to me the problems or issues he noticed and taught me a lot about what was going on and to look for. He was very professional and set everything up in a timely manner at a good price. When he sent the overall home report he had several high quality photos with outlines of what was going on and examples of what it should be like. This is a great company and I would gladly use them again.

We had Alex come out and do a septic inspection for us on a house we were hoping to purchase. There was no information presented on the septic unit so we gave Alex a call and while on our initial call, Alex was able to figure out more about the septic system than I was provided throughout the purchasing process!

Alex came out on very quick notice to check out the Septic system and he confirmed what he expected and saved us about $40,000. We will be using Alex for all of family’s future inspections and recommend you to do the same!

I recently put in an offer to buy a home that had an older septic system with a leach field. I could not find a company to conduct the septic inspection (most only do mechanical septic systems) and someone recommended Alex at Eaton Inspections. I called and explained my tight inspection timeline and lack of companies willing/able to do an inspection. Alex responded right away and scheduled an inspection during my tight time frame. When he arrived for the inspection, there were access issues that prevented him from doing the inspection. The owner agreed to get the proper access and Alex rescheduled the next day so we could keep to my tight time frame for inspection. The next day he performed the inspection, got the report to me in a timely fashion, explained the good and the bad items of the septic system inspection, and couldn't be more satisfied with his knowledge and willingness to help me get the inspection done. I have never owned a home with a septic system and Alex took the time to explain and discuss the pros and cons in a way that was easily understandable. I would highly recommend him if you are in need of a septic system inspection

Our realtor recommended we use Eaton Inspections and I'm very glad we did. Alex communicated with us from the moment we made contact to request him and walked us through the entire process so we could select all of the services we thought we would need. He showed up on time and was extremely thorough. If there is a stronger word for thorough that I knew, I would use it. He took extra time with us after his inspection to walk us through his findings which helped us know what we would need to work on after taking possession of the house and what we needed to go back to the seller to address. If we ever sell our home, I'll be calling him to do an inspection before we list to ensure we have a carefree selling experience.

Alex did an inspection for our very first home. We'd heard from others that he was extremely thorough—much more thorough than was typical of home inspectors. He absolutely delivered. Alex was exhaustive when inspecting the home and pointing out areas that could use some work. After his inspection, we felt confident that we knew what we were getting into.

Alex was just as thorough in his inspection of the second home, and even though he was very positive about the outlook of this one he still took the time to thoroughly document and provide remediation instructions for every minor issue he could find. We ended up purchasing this house and we couldn't be happier with it. And now we have Alex's thorough inspection report to use as a checklist for fixing these minor issues over time - it's exactly what we need to make sure that we're taking proper care of our new property.

There are certainly cheaper inspectors out there, but as always you get what you pay for, and when it comes to a 6+ figure purchase such as a new house you want to make sure that you get it right. If you go with Alex as your inspector then you're going to be guaranteed to know exactly what you're potentially getting into.

My wife and I recently used Alex at Eaton Inspections on an older home in Hyde Park. We really wanted a thorough inspection given the age of the home, and Alex came highly recommended!

From the jump, Alex communicated extremely well - getting us scheduled well within our window, clearly explaining pricing and add ons he’d recommend given the location and age of the home, and answering our questions.

Come inspection day, he allowed us to be present for the entire inspection, which took 5+ hours given the home’s condition. During that time he patiently explained all he was doing, why he did it the way he did, and risk levels of the property’s condition. He was extremely thorough, and left no stone unturned.
