We worked with GrassRoots to regrade our backyard to make it safe for our kids to play in. This included landscape design, retaining wall construction, regrading, concrete sidewalks, sod, irrigation, deck construction, and planting. They were great to work with, responsive, and accommodating to changes as we went along. We highly recommend GrassRoots and would use them for future projects.

Grassroots did a complete redesign of our yard. The results are fantastic. I very glad we picked a company that could handle every part of the project, from design to excavation to plantings.

I was impressed with quality and professionalism of the Grassroots people and the subcontractors they brought to our house. Every person seemed to know what they were doing and care about our project.

My experience was positive from the first meeting. Phil/GrassRoots arrived on time and had multiple creative, great looking, in-budget ideas immediately. The quote arrived well within my budget and the entire project came in exactly at the quote, amazing. The work was terrific, the finished design solution looks fantastic and was completed quickly. Crew was terrific and my property, time and budget were always respected. Phil had great suggestions for tweaks that came up once the project was underway. Communication was great at every step of the way. I couldn't be happier, my neighbors are envious, and I will both use GrassRoots for other projects in the future and recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Our experience with GrassRoots has been nothing but positive. It is a small, local business that places its focus on the needs of the client. Working with Phil was so enjoyable. He is very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator, creatively problem-solving so that we ended with a project better than we had anticipated. He listened to our wishes, gave great advice, provided hard numbers and stuck to them. I'm pretty sure the project ran over budget, as there were a couple of unexpected issues, but we heard nothing about it. The bid was the bid (this has not been our experience in the past). His crew was excellent, always on time and on task. Everyone was pleasant and cooperative. We asked for a nice yard and have ended with a beautiful park-like garden which we are now entrusting to their maintenance crew. We came in on budget and on time. Imagine that! We look forward to many years enjoying our garden and our relationship with GrassRoots.

Garrett and the crew at Grassroots did a major overhaul of our backyard. They handled every facet from design to finish. Our new yard looks spectacular. It is better than we could ever dream. Even when the weather or some unforeseen issue arose they stepped up and addressed and solved each and every issue with speed and professionalism. Even after the job was done, I still get calls from Garrett checking to see if we are still happy and if we have any questions. Top notch service and performance. I will not hesitate to call them for any future jobs. We are loyal Grassroots customers for life.

I have lived in Eugene in the same home for over 20 years and have worked with several landscape companies over the years with very mixed results. I contracted this past summer with GrassRoots to maintain my very large home lot within the Eugene city limits that includes wetlands in about a 50:50 ratio with my back yard landscaping. That complicates the work because of the special requirements of caring for these protected areas. GrassRoots has exceeded my expectations in every regard. Robert and Tyrus have made my entire lot look neat, clean, and well-maintained. The transition from yard to wetlands looks seamless and natural. I have been so impressed with GrassRoots regular maintenance that I am contracting with them to design and make major improvements to my patios and paths as well as improvements to my shrubs and perennials. Tim Gravlin, who has been my main contact at GrassRoots has been helpful, prompt, and a real pleasure to work with. GrassRoots Landscape has my highest recommendation.

My experience with GrassRoots was outstanding. They created a new gravel seating area and a large new perennial/pollinator garden. They also upgraded my irrigation system and helped improve sight lines around the house with appropriate plantings. It was a fairly large project with a lot of their team members on site and it is very clear they are all trained in customer service. I highly recommend GrassRoots!

From the first phone call to Phillip regarding our project to the end of the project was fantastic. We started out thinking of landscape cleanup with a possible hardscape. Phillip met with us and talked with us regarding our daughter's wedding to be held at our house. He gave us ideas that went with our natural habitat and was receptive to our budget as well. He was responsive when we had questions. We are very happy with our grass that was put in and our crushed granite patio with a sitting wall. We are excited for the warmer weather so we can sit out there and enjoy it. The workers that came out were very professional and kind. We enjoyed watching the project progress with them. They went above and beyond in keeping our place clean each day and when the project was completed they made sure everything was in even better shape than when they started. Phillip even said he would come back in March to make sure the grass that had to be seeded had taken root. We would highly recommend using Grassroots. They are fantastic to work with and do a great job.

We moved to our new home earlier this year. We wanted to have quite a bit of work done, including a paver patio extension with cover, installation of irrigated raised beds, a new flagpole and little free garden. After doing some research we selected GrassRoots and couldn’t be more pleased with their work. Tim Galvin was responsive and communicative during the entire process. They answered all of our questions and when it came time to do the work we were impressed by the professionalism and quality of the work. They were very thorough and made our yard look amazing. I cannot say enough about Phillip Farris and all of the people we worked with from GrassRoots Landscaping: absolutely the best of the best. From the initial meeting to the end result we have been beyond impressed and delighted with the professionalism , quality, value and integrity of every person on the team and their level of skill and competency. My first meeting with Phillip was so very helpful: he listened to me and managed to put into words (and on paper)what I was describing as the effect I wanted for our outdoor spaces. I felt heard and understood. From that point on things proceeded as planned, we were always informed and notified of what was going to happen and when , and the people who did the work were wonderful. From Joe to the others, they were a delight to have on our property and to work with. Trust is important to me and to my husband and we felt as if we were in the best of hands from start to finish.

We are now looking out at plants that are thriving and looking back on delightful days of planning, putting it all into place and enjoying the presence of the GrassRoots team. Their work is superb - and the service excellent. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. oh, and: we are planning on yet another project mid summer and I am already looking forward to the experience. Keep up the great work GrassRoots!

and for an update: we had Spencer come to our home and get our watering system up and running. He was great! He knew what he was doing and did it well - plus he was a delight to have at our home. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. We love grassroots!

I recently hired the GrassRoots crew to do a small landscaping project at a new home I was moving into. The experience was great from the very beginning. The crew was always timely and very professional. In a short time they were able to clear out old and dated landscaping that we wanted to get rid of and give our front and backyard a completely fresh and low maintenance new look including new sod and arborvitae. From start to finish of my project, I was impressed with the entire Grassroots team. They communicate well, provide valuable insight and opinions, are timely, and trustworthy. As snags were encountered, these were communicated and solutions (and budget updates) were presented. Their experience and attention to detail shows. Over the years, we have worked with many landscaping companies and none have been more professional than Garrett and the Grassroots crew. We asked for a low maintenance yard. Grassroots listened to our objectives and came back with a plan that fit our needs perfectly. They were professional, transparent, polite and willing to go the extra mile to overcome issues. Our backyard's hillside had been in need of attention for maybe more than 4 years. This was mostly our own fault — as new homeowners we allowed the soil to erode, we didn't take care of the plants properly, we were not familiar with the irrigation systems or maintaining them. By the time we started talking to GrassRoots, we had a very good idea of what we'd need to do and almost entirely no idea how to execute it. GrassRoots helped us put together and modify a plan that met all of our expectations. We worked with Tim, who was great to work with, highly knowledgeable, and excellent at managing the project and communication.

After nailing down details of the project (plant layout, new irrigation, French drain installation, erosion control, lighting, etc.), GrassRoots began work and did it ALL in about a week or two. Near the project's completion, there were a few items that we were not happy with and GrassRoots addressed them quickly. By the end of the project, our yard was built completely as we expected, within budget and timeline. We are looking forward to working with GrassRoots again in the future!

Garrett and his team have been very involved and insightful throughout our project. They take the time to propose elevated designs and material selections based on your budget and concepts.
