They had the 40 year old part that was necessary to restore power to our mobile home. They were the only electrician that could help us (a r looked at the panel but didn't have the necessary parts onhand ) right away and they worked late to get it done. I was so thankful to have it fixed after two days without power, I would highly recommend them.

The Landlords side of my RV hook up FRIED my connector, in the dead of winter. I'm responsible for everything my side, but had to wait for payday. Elk Horn ordered the part and came 4 days before expected, on a Friday no less! I was SO GRATEFUL after 12 days flat out freezing.

Jon came out to help us evaluate our electric panel at our church. He went above and beyond. He found and replaced a faulty breaker and even checked to make sure the wires were correctly sized for the breakers. Very satisfied! Fair price! Would highly recommend.

So thankful for having such a professional electrician in our community. We had water leak into an electrical switch, half the house was without power! Jon listened, got the outlet fixed up and safe, even went above and beyond disconnecting another three way switch, answered all my questions, you can tell, Jon is extremely knowledgeable about his craft and he takes pride in his work. He connected us with roofers to seal up the leak and we really couldn’t have asked for more. We need more good folks like Jon and his team. Don’t even think about calling anyone else or just “dealing with it”, call Jon and get it fixed right!!

We had a main breaker go out. It actually filled our bedroom with the smell of burning plastic (YIKES!!!)

I tried to find the breaker myself, but it turns it was about 40 years old, and almost impossible to find.

Jon was able to come out after hours. Luckily for us, he had a compatible breaker in his shop and was able to get us up and running in less than 2 hours.

Considering the emergency service, the cost was very reasonable. I am happy to find a local (Reedsport, OR) electrician I can trust and will refer Elkhorn to anyone who asks.

I plan on having my whole panel replaced and will definitely hire Elkhorn to do the work.

I'm so happy with Elkhorn Electric. They actually came a couple of hours earlier from their scheduled time. Replaced my thermostat and was done at no time at all. They did a great job in a very friendly and professional manner. I will call them again if I need help again.

We were very happy with our experience with Elkhorn Electric. Jon and his wife were incredibly helpful and responsive - we had a big project to do and they spent time going through multiple options with us. They provided a clear estimate and worked to get our supply order in before prices went up (due to external demand). Heather, Jon's business partner, was the most responsive contractor I've worked with on many projects. The price was slightly higher than our estimate, but this is normal and expected when small things come up that are impossible to know ahead.

Absolutely amazing folks down here at Elkhorn electric. We called that our dryer died due to an ancient breaker box. These gentleman came out the next day to replace the entire thing. They made things extremely easy and we had nothing to worry about. Genuinely amazing service run by genuinely amazing folks

The quote was reasonable and I wasn't charged anything extra on the final invoice. John was professional and courteous and the job was done as promised. Thank you Elkhorn, highly recommended!

Jon and Heather Train are wonderful to work with. Jon truly knows his stuff an his crew is very competent.

Very deceptive pricing. Was told by Jon, that my small project would be a one man,one day job. Was told to expect a time and material charge to be around 1700$. Was not completed in one day. Came back,another 5.5hours added to the first day of 10 hours when he was here 7.5 hours. Ended up at 2500$. No communication, just the final bill. Find someone else.

I contacted Elkhorn Elec. to get a bid to get electricity for a new hot tub to be delivered. There were no local electricians. His company was only 20 miles from our location. John, the owner, come out and said the job would take him 2 or 3 hours and he charges $115 an hour. The day before the arrival of the hot tub, I called his wife and business partner to arrange the meeting times with John. She informed me that he was doing another “ big job”. She would be sending out another journeyman and an apprentice. Now the hourly would be $200 per. When I balked, she explained that even if John were doing the job, he would have a second person. The job was completed. The old bait and switch. Shortly there after an electrical inspector came out to ok the project. I was informed that I needed a GFI. Called Elkhorn, Heather, wife, would send out the journeyman for installation. Job was completed and later approved. Michael, the installer, was here no more than 3 hours. I got my bill and was charged 4.25 hrs. When I called about the discrepancy, Heather said the clock starts ticking when they are loading the truck and ends when they get back. So, for less than a 1 hr. round trip drive, I am paying nearly $150. A little exorbitant! That being said, the work was more than satisfactory. Heather seems to be very nice. I would hope that the company is neither dishonest or deceitful and they just forgot to tell us all the little details that a lay person might not be aware of. What was at one point, in my mind, a $700 to $800 deal, cost me over $2100. Buyer beware.

Save your money and time, Elkhorn Electric is not worth it. Needed wiring for a sign, expected it to be expensive. The rates sounded good. Until they said they needed about 20 hours to complete the job. Charged about $700 for 3 hours of digging two holes and putting a small pvc and plastic box. Electricians weren't there on time, spent most of the time going back and forth to the shop looking for parts, then saying they didn't have the parts. They overestimated the time they spent working and also charged me for locating a conduit that I told them where it was. Decided to take my business elsewhere and was quoted half of what they quoted me for time.
