Doug is an absolute pleasure to work with. He truly cares about the environment and every plant and being in it. He is super knowledgeable and will take one stroll around your property, providing far more useful information about your plants and trees than you can imagine. Elena (in the office) is professional, upbeat and also a great pleasure to work with.

Doug and his crew have been taking care of my families trees for years. Large or small, preemptive or in emergency the Artistic Arborist is the goto Arborist. If you care about your trees and you want them to be taken care by no one but the best, it's the Artistic Arborist. He has really save me money, houses and lives. ~Royal Whittier

Doug Hornaday is a professional with integrity, skill, thoughtfulness, and smarts. He is on time and does what he says he will do. I had first heard of him through another Real Estate Associate of mine. Then, I saw my neighbor had him do a lot of tree work for him after the bad storm and other times. Artistic Arborist has helped me a few times now. I appreciate his work ethics and refer him to people as a very qualified arborist with many years of experience.

I've worked with arborists for over 40 years. Doug and his crew are top drawer! Doug has a wonderful artistic eye for pruning. Good hearted and professional. I highly recommend this company.

The Jan. 2024 ice storm left a Widowmaker hanging over our driveway, Doug and his partner worked on a Sunday, efficiently, quickly and with care to the rest of the landscape. Many thanks, great job! I highly recommend artistic Arborist!

Doug has been caring for our old established trees for several years. I had another arborist cable a very large tree to prevent breakage. After an ice storm, the cables were broken and the tree split down the middle. Doug came the same day I called and roped it together until he could come out to do the new cabling with much heavier cables. He has done a great job of keeping our "heritage" trees healthy and looking good. Thank you Doug

Excellent and precise work on my beautiful, old Japanese maples. Doug, with his many years of expertise, corrected poorly done past pruning on these trees and gave them new life so they will grow correctly. The same with an older dogwood that is a focal point in my backyard. Professional, on time and did a great job with the clean up. Thank you!

Minutes after my call, during the thick of the ice storm, despite his 2-month backed up calendar, Doug showed up at our door completely unexpectedly just to freely give us the peace of mind that the leaning cypress tree was okay and will not cause us any harm.
Today, 2 weeks later and for years to come, we will still talk about what an exceptional person this guy really is. Thank you again, Doug❤️

Doug and his crew have taken care of the several trees on our property for over 8 years. Everything from fruit tree to giant maple to fir to smaller Japanese maples. He recently did an amazing job cleaning out and pruning two older Japanese maple trees. He carefully pruned so that the beautiful twisted trunk and limbs are shown off. They are now works of art! The company name of Artistic Arborist truly reflects their vision.

He and his crew are also careful to pick up and remove all limbs and leaves and clean up adjacent walkways and driveway. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Doug and company did a fantastic job on our fruit trees and laurel hedge! Their care and artistry are top notch. They cleaned everything up exceptionally well & gave a very fair price. We highly recommend Artistic Arborist !

Doug (owner) is efficient, professional, friendly, he listens, explains the whats and whys, and just does a really great job. He and his crew have trimmed multiple trees, plants, bushes, etc., in my yard for the last two years, and I couldn't have been happier with the results ... which essentially are the "artistic" in Artistic Arborist. He'll be back next time, for sure.

Doug came out to give me an estimate. I wanted a hack and chop job done on my maple. He let me know that his focus is more on making trees beautiful. He proceeded to give me a ton of advice on how to best go about getting my job done. I was really impressed that he wanted the best for me and my family even though he wasn't going to be doing the job. It's clear to me that Doug is passionate about his work and cares about people first and foremost in the process. Would highly recommend if your tree is in need of tlc and beautification.

Doug and Ryan did a fantastic job on my trees and shrubs. Very knowledgeable about every kind of tree (apple, pear, plum, maple, dogwood, and burning bush). Each plant is work of art to them and it shows in their careful and caring pruning. They worked quickly and quietly. An absolute pleasure to work with!

Doug and his crew saved us after last weekend’s ice storm. Our 200-year-old white oak lost several large limbs, all of which fell on our home. We weren’t sure of the damage to our roof, so they went to the roof and found five holes from the fallen limbs, went to the hardware store to buy shingles, and patched the holes as best as they could until a roofing company can do a complete repair. Then they removed any other potentially dangerous limbs from our tree and thoroughly cleaned up the horrendous mess left from the storm. Doug also eased our anxieties after the trauma of what happened and made us feel safe in our home again. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We had Jason and Ryan over for the day today. They trimmed our trees after 19 years of growth - and did a masterful job! This is definitely a company to do business with. They were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and our property looks great!

Doug is friendly and casual, but very professional. He's very obliging, while still giving an arborist's opinion of what is good for the tree, and how it will look as the tree continues to grow. I also like the way he treats his employees - with courtesy and respect.

Had Doug come out and give us a quote which they stuck to when they came to perform the work two weeks later which was great as there were no additional charges. They even took the extra effort of moving some of my lawn decorations so they won't be damaged while they perform their work and move them back after they were done. Did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves so that there was no bark or debris left behind. Would definitely recommend and would use them again.

Had Doug Hornaday and his co-arborist, Jason, out to our house to help us get our trees and hedges into shape. Doug and Jason were wonderful to work with and the results are phenomenal. Our front and back yards have never looked better. We're so pleased, we're looking forward to using Artistic Arborist again in the future. They were so courteous and professional. It was a pleasure to work with them. We're so glad we found Doug. We wholeheartedly recommend Artistic Arborist.

After the ice storm in Jan of 2024, my son and I were in our front yard trying to get some low hanging broken branches out of our tree. Doug was driving by, pulled over, and offered to get them all out with his ladder and pole saw, free of charge. 30-40 mins later my tree was all clear of any hanging dangers. Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, I would definitely recommend. Thanks again!

I had a huge tree split in two during snowpocalypse 2019. Half of it fell in my back yard and the other part remained but needed to go. I called Doug and he had his crew over within 2 days during what was probably the busiest time of the year for them. They did an amazing job of cleaning everything up and were very reasonably priced. I would highly recommended Artistic Arborist for all of your tree needs!

We have used Doug for several years and appreciate his knowledge, expertise, and professionalism. He takes great care in his work while still being very efficient. He & his crew remove all the debris and leave the property spotless.
