I hired this company for a roof replacement and am very satisfied with the work performed. They are very professional, service was completed as scheduled, and cleanup was thorough.

Did great work for a reasonable price. Very transparent with what he was doing and why he was doing it. Supplied pictures and videos since we weren’t at home during the job, which was really appreciated.

Great company! They were knowledgable and efficient fixing a leak caused by some poorly installed flashing around my chimney and did really solid quality work.

TLDR: professional, responsive, quality work, what else to say?

A bit more, if you want the full story. We bought our house in 2006, and the home inspector told us we needed a new roof. Great, so put it on our list of things to take care of fairly soon. As anyone with a home in Providence (or probably anywhere else) knows, you are subjected to a constant barrage of people walking by trying to sell you some sort of home improvement, or solar service. But because we were new to the game, and because we knew we did *actually* need a roof, we let one of those soliciting companies give us an estimate and because we were too lazy to shop around, we let them do our roof. It was cheap, and that's about the only thing good I can say about that job. About a week after the job was completed, the *SAME COMPANY* (heck, I should probably call them out: RI Home Improvement) called to tell us the were "just passing by" and "our roof looked like it was in bad shape" and "would we be interested in a free quote." When they installed the roof, they told us that as long as there was only one layer, they could just put new shingles on top of the old ones...which they did. Jump ahead 11 years, we decided to put solar panels up (and having learned our lesson, we asked around and went with Newport Solar, who did a great job). They looked at our roof and said it was in good enough shape to put up the panels, but once they started the job realized the shingles were not doing very well, probably largely because there were 3-4 layers of shingles in many places—the other company never should have put them on without taking the others off. They went ahead with the solar install, giving us the generous option to remove/replace when we needed the roof replaced.

So, about 2 weeks ago, we finally started getting water in one of our upstairs bedrooms. This time, we went to the neighborhood facebook group and C & J was mentioned over and over with great reviews, so I called and talked to Chris. He got right back to me, and was out to inspect the roof the same day, as soon as he heard we were having water coming into the house. The install was complicated, because it turned out that the leak culprit was the chimney, not the roof (which did still need to be replaced), and because we needed to coordinate the solar panel removal with Newport Solar. Chris recommended A-Tec for the chimney (also great to work with!), and helped schedule and coordinate with Newport. In the end, we had a new roof on our house in less than two weeks from the time we called about the leak. The quality of work is fantastic. Everything was documented from beginning to end, the clean-up was spotless. Really, I can't think of anything to complain about, and would highly recommend C &J to anyone looking for a new roof in the Providence area.

Chris and his guys at C&J Construction & Roofing were an absolute pleasure to work with when replacing our roof. They did the work efficiently and with minimal disturbance. Chris was always responsive to questions and the crew arrived when they said they would both mornings, a rarity these days! I highly recommend C&J Construction & Roofing.

Chris Jackson fully replaced my roof 5 years ago, and I am incredibly happy with his work. His crew of 12 workers stripped two layers of 3-tab asphalt shingles, laid down weather-proofing material, installed a roof vent, installed architectural shingles, and cleaned the whole area around my house, in 5 hours! A couple days later the dumpster was hauled away, and Chris came down to magnetically sweep the driveway, and only THEN would he accept payment.

I'm happy to see that several of my neighbors have used him since, and all have been exceptionally happy with the work done.

Chris and his team came to replace our roof yesterday and finished up today. I can't believe how fast they finished the job! Price was great for the amount of work that got done in that time, and Chris sent us pictures of the work as it got done so we could see how it progressed. Fast, professional and definitely worth the price 👍

C&J Construction replaced my roof Nov. of 2014, still looks great! Recently I contacted Chris Jackson because of water coming in on inside wall of chimney. He immediately came out as a "service call" to inspect the situation. He re-caulked along the metal flashing and also suggested repointing the brick on the chimney at a later date. I'm very impressed with his responsiveness and courtesy. It's a pleasure to deal with someone with integrity that stands behind his workmanship.

I couldn't recommend Chris more!!! My husband and I recently bought a house in the area, but we're from Newport, so we don't "have a guy" for everything up here like we did in our hometown - it's a strange feeling! So, when we had some shingles blow off the roof, I called every roof company in our city (EP), then Providence... I either received no call backs or quotes that made me almost pass out - because for just a few shingles I knew it couldn't be thousands and thousands like these other people quoted me (also telling me I needed a new roof, a new this, a new that...) I believe I got these high quotes because my husband wasn't home, I clearly didn't know what they were talking about, so they figured they could jip me since I didn't know any better. Well I DID know better then to just hire them!! I finally made some friends in my neighborhood and asked who did their roof - they told me Chris and that highly highly recommend him - now I see why!!

First of all Chris answered immediately. I explained the problem, he said he'd stop over the next day to access the damage and give me a quote. He did exactly that. the quote he gave me was a FRACTION of what all of these other roofers said, and he did not say I need a new roof right now (when I do though, you know who I'm calling!)... he gave me the quote and was able to sneak my roof in within two days since it was a quick job!

He was so friendly and professional. He kept in contact with me on when he'd be here, he sent me pictures and explained why I needed certain things done, he really really truly made me feel comfortable with the decision to use him!!

I can't sing this man's praises enough!! Take it from a woman who owns her own award winning business for almost a decade and has worked with every kind of business you can think of with my job - and this guy was honestly one of the most easy going people I've ever worked with. Also take this from a woman who is currently under way too much stress, plus no sleep or peace because of a very new kitten, and my husband works way too much to have time to take care of this right now - the last thing I wanted to deal with was fixing the roof and some guy taking advantage of me by charging way too much.

Not Chris! He's quick. Kind. Communicates. Fair. Zero stress. Job well done, and one less thing on my plate to worry about fixing this roof.

I was recommended Chris through a friend and it was one of the best recommendations I ever received! He was very responsive to my many questions, talked me through everything, and was helpful with every step along the way. On the day of the replacement him and his team were did excellent, quick, efficient work. Absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of roof work. 10/10 stars for everything!
