Having heard remodeling horror stories from friends, we approached the work on our 100 year old home with trepidation. The team at Trainer quickly alleviated all of those concerns. They are skilled, professional and above all quality people to have working in our home during the Covid season for almost a year. On time, on budget and made the process enjoyable.

Trainer's outstanding reputation is well-deserved. Mistakes are rarely made and quickly addressed, jobsite is always neatly maintained, employees courteous, project management superb, craftmanship is beautiful, billing clear, results could not be finer.

We have worked with the F.E. Trainer as a consultant for many years, and we have seen many projects of theirs come to fruition.
They are knowledgeable, conscientious, and work well with their clients. They are always on my list when I am asked about potential contractors for custom homes. They are a pleasure to work with.

When you're building a house, you get asked two questions: "when are you going to be moving in?", and "who's your builder?".

I was asked these same two questions again and again, and I was amazed at the fact that I got virtually the same reaction EVERY TIME I said "Fred Trainer is building my house". Almost everyone responded the same way... they didn't SAY anything. They just sort of did this dismissive hand gesture and moved on. It was the international hand signal for "OK, you're good. You'll be fine."

It was uncanny... everybody had virtually the same response to my answer and literally NOBODY had anything bad to say. Nobody. At that point Fred had been building houses in Knoxville for over 20 years, and nobody had anything bad to say. At all. In fact everybody just talked about how great he was. About a BUILDER! People LOVE to complain about their builder! But not about Fred, or the people who work with him.

Let's be honest, Fred's not building your house. His people are. And the trades people he works with. And I can tell you, having met EVERYONE who had anything to do with building my house (since I was onsite literally every day making a complete nuisance of myself, no doubt), everyone who works with Fred is a solid human being. He attracts good people, and he holds them accountable.

I'm grateful to Fred Trainer. Truly. And I'm grateful to the fine men who built my house. I appreciate everything that everyone did, and the care with which they did it. They WANTED to build me a good house... and they did. And now that it's built I am comforted by the fact that when issues arise, they'll be there to help me address them.

We chose F.E. Trainer to remodel our backyard including the addition of a pool Pavillion for a home that was built in 1946. Needless to say, there was a ton of legacy issues in the backyard from everything to an old pool that had previously been covered up to all utilities running through the middle of the yard in the most inconvenient places. F.E. Trainer and their team exceeded our expectations in terms of knowledge, resources (they also work with some great subs), and quality. However, the distinctive that stood out the most is their commitment to the relationship to resolve any issue to the satisfaction of the client. Great company with a great team!!! We were extremely satisfied and hope to work with them again in the future.

F.E. Trainer Construction has my highest recommendation. They have a solid cadre of subcontractors and experienced project leads. The most satisfying part of dealing with them was the view of quality that the project lead and super had with respect to the job. They often saw minor fixes before we did, highlighted them and made arrangements to correct them. Most importantly, there was never a haggle on something that was not right or quite right. They took the feedback and addressed the issue.

I can't say enough about their friendly and cooperative staff, from the project leads all the way to Fred himself.

If we ever undertake a project of such scope, FE Trainer would be my first call and choice, without question.
