I saw a lot of good reviews and decided this was who I would go with to fix a small drip coming from a nickel size plastic piece attached to a home water softener. The tech inspected the problem and before the estimate was even able to be given, the small drip turned into water bursting everywhere. This required it be fixed immediately at the 700$ cost estimate. or just turn the water off and try to get it fixed with someone else. So I agreed. Then before the tech left, the work he did burst. This led to another estimate of 1000$ To replace a water pressure regulator because the psi was too high. Ok, but The part costs about 50$ and according to 5 (yes I researched 5) other plumbing sites , the average cost for that kind of job generally tops out at 350$ with professional installation. This raised some suspicion. So I turned the discussion of money over to someone in the family that is a superintendent , building single and multi family housing and former Army engineer. Sorry but they had lots of great explanations with lots of technical terms, the cost didn’t add up. After refusing to pay the 1000$ extra, they refused to warranty the work they had done so far. And I can’t seem to get an itemized bill even after insisting multiple times. The 3 (yes it took 3) men who ended up trying to figure out how to fix things were very nice don’t get me wrong. But if you can only give me something that says “350$ for parts and 350$ for labor” rather than a detailed itemized bill , that’s not a company I want to work with. I will pay the 700$ I agreed to (even tho the job seems over priced) just as soon as I have an invoice telling me where my money went to. That’s not unreasonable.
