We had been dealing with persistent high humidity issues in our unit and multiple unsuccessful visits from other HVAC and mechanical testing companies left us frustrated and without answers. Enter Luke from Home Energy Medics. His expertise and dedication shone through as he conducted thorough testing, collecting extensive evidence and data that finally found the root cause of our issues—something none of the other experts had been able to do. Luke's methodical approach, attention to detail, and clear communication were truly impressive. We couldn't be more grateful for his help and highly recommend him to anyone facing home energy issues.

Home Energy Medics were efficient and professional. They took time to listen to and address our concerns. The work was scheduled to meet our schedule. They took care of everything from start to finish and left our house clean at the end of each day. The entire process was virtually seamless. The personnel were all great.

Very positive experience for the initial full audit of our home's energy efficiency. We got a full audit because our home is older (1920s) and we were concerned with an unsealed crawlspace, attic insulation/finishing, and draftiness in the winter. Brian, the Energy Auditor we worked with, was thorough, professional, friendly, and patient with our many questions. We haven't gotten the results and recommendations yet but just the experience of the initial evaluation was positive, and I would highly recommend working with Home Energy Medics.

They provided a detailed explanation of issues causing energy loss and additional heat and humidity on my 3rd floor. Explained actions and solutions to address issue. Competent staff implemented solution in a quick, efficient manner. Notable difference once solution implemented. Would recommend company.

We have been exceptionally happy with the service, care, and expertise of the Home Energy Medics team. Bob and Diego were fantastic at helping us through the process, identifying work, listening to our needs, communicating with us throughout every stage of the project (including planning), managing the subcontractors, and more. Our project was not exactly "inexpensive" but the quality of the work, outcome, and project management is well worth the cost and peace of mind in investing in our home. I would absolutely recommend Home Energy Medics to anyone.

This is a long overdue review of the FANTASTIC work that Scott Donelson and his Home Energy Medics team did at our home in N. Arlington last summer. Scott is extremely committed to improving energy efficiency in his clients' homes, both to improve the comfort and quality of indoor air we experience in our homes, but also to help reduce our community's carbon emissions (I know, as I've done advocacy work with Scott on the subject). Scott goes above and beyond the norm to be responsive, he takes the time to discuss options and explain why each step is necessary (these are not insignificant investments and we all want to spend our money wisely), and he doesn't 'disappear' when the job is done -- rather he offers follow-up to ensure all is going to plan. Scott has extremely respectful, competent and trustworthy people on his team -- I felt 100% comfortable having them working in my home while I stepped out for awhile. In sum, I would HIGHLY recommend Home Energy Medics to anyone else in our northern VA community!

Luke from Home Energy Medics was great and extremely personable. When he came out for an energy audit of my home, he was very thorough and answered all of my questions in great detail and really broke down more complicated issues. This was very helpful as a first-time homeowner. He also gave me great tips and advice on things I can do myself to better maintain the proper function of our various appliances. Would highly recommend their services!

Great company to work with - our 3-story townhouse needed attic insulation and duct sealing work (among other things) so that it wasn't so cold in the winter and hot in summer. The difference is quite noticeable and we are very happy. We also worked with them on my mom's townhouse with similar issues as well as window replacement. Our only regret is wishing we'd done it earlier!

They were always prompt, communicative, and thorough. When surprises came up (as always seems to happen with home repair/improvement) they were very professional and made sure that we were taken care of. Highly recommended!

Very comprehensive home energy audit with pragmatic, prioritized remedy plan. Very pleased with this service

I asked Home Energy Medics to perform an energy efficiency audit shortly after I moved into a new house. They were extremely responsive and helpful with setting up the appointment, answering my questions and making sure I selected the appropriate services. The audit itself was fantastic. I was very impressed with the thoroughness and detail of the report, and appreciated that my specific concerns about the house were fully investigated. Most importantly, the audit uncovered significant inefficiencies in our heating/cooling that need to be addressed, and Home Energy Medics offered practical solutions to resolve them. Over the course of several months, we had the insulation in our attic and garage replaced (from basically nothing to a lot), had our internal vents sealed, and a number of other gaps addressed. The difference in indoor air temperature consistency was immediately noticeable, and we were so grateful to have had this work done before winter. I highly recommend their services.

Scott and his team did a big project for us 5 years ago. We had problems with condensation in our attic crawl space and needed to pull the insulation and replace with foam insulation, sealing the air leaks. It worked beautifully, however this summer we had some new problems in the guest bathroom.

I called Scott and he remembered our job and was very willing to help us with these new condensation problems. He came out right away and fit us into his crew's schedule and we were all clear within a short amount of time - much to our relief.

Scott is very hands-on with his well-run company and is extremely knowledgeable about HVAC and moisture issues. I highly recommend Scott and his team.

Had a great experience working with Scott and the Home Energy Medics crew for a second time (first time in DC) after moving to VA. My home had little to no insulation and Scott and his team diligently set to work analyzing and updating all facets of my aged house including but not limited to a unique insulation solution allowing for later home renovation as well as fixing HVAC airflow issues from the existing unit. Very happy with how thorough this group is on their work under Scott's guidance. Scott was also very quick to respond to an email a year later when I inquired for photos of the project which were very helpful for my architect. A++

I cannot recommend Home Energy Medics highly enough! After having 4 different HVAC specialists come look at my system and leave us with no clear direction on next steps, Luke was able to not only diagnose our air flow problem, but fixed it on the spot. He listened thoughtfully, was extremely thorough in his analysis, and actually returned airflow to half our house after about a year without it. I am so grateful I found Home Energy Medics and Luke and will be recommending them to everyone I know. Thank you!!

Scott is excellent to work with, very knowledgeable, responsive. Great company that I suggest to others. They helped us improve our aging house and increase the airflow significantly. Also the sealing of our ducts that was suggested has been a great change.

Taylor, as far as the audit, follow up, has been outstanding. He actually cares about the quality and efficiency of the air we're breathing. I've never had contractors come in site to evaluate others work to code, go from to to bottom, attic in extreme heat with me, full evaluation there including more ventilation and fans, home pressure checks with leak and decay testing. 7 hours I was beside him teaching me everything about how energy is lost, if with is fine improper what happens, and he even came when it current company w here to evaluate and offer improvement. The next day, he called me, unheard of, asking how it was going so we can get the air safe again. I need go hardware store now not buy 10 more filters.. 1 every 2 days.. On way to hardware now. I would love if everyone worked as a team for mutual benefit for the customer whose breathing in wet moldy air for months. Thanks Tyler. Less then 24 hours you call and check in. Give him a high 5.

Very happy with the work Home Energy Medics did on our 100 year old home in Arlington! We started with a home energy audit by Mitch. He recommended a list of ideas for us to implement. We ended up going with duct sealing, a full insulation project in attic and basement, and re-encapsulating a crawlspace area. The work was completed professionally and at good quality. We are already seeing improvements with our house retaining heat better during the past few winter months!

Found shortly moving into a condo in a new building that we had a very thin wall separating a bedroom from our next door neighbors' living room -- we could almost hear conversations word-for-word and TV noise can through very loud and clear. The difference Home Energy Medics in reducing noise transmission through the shared wall is night and day -- conversations can no longer be heard, and TV noise was significantly reduced. They were extremely professional, and the work was top quality (and finished ahead of schedule too! If you have noise transmission issues in your home, these are the people to call in the DMV. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience working with Home Energy Medics to complete a soundproofing project for our townhouse in Capitol Hill. I would 100% recommend them, our results have been amazing and improved the quality of our lives immensely!

The construction crew was always on time and finished the project ahead of schedule. Throughout the entire process Luke & Scott were very attentive. They identified a major flaw in our master bedroom air ducts and once repaired we had a major improvement in our quality of sleep!
