Great company and great results. Patient, work closely with customers to understand what they want, and very proactive follow-up to make sure everything turned out as desired. Highly recommend!

It's unfortunate Ms. Winkler allowed an initial unfavorable call to derail her opportunity to work with Groff Landscape Design. Rob Groff and his team are the best contract firm we have worked with in our 25 years in Arlington and the permeable drive they installed is as beautiful as the day it was completed four years ago (while others in the neighborhood installed by other firms are sinking into the ground). Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful experience with Robert and Sean. Not only were they patient with us as we revised the scope of the project multiple times, but they were willing to meet with us a moments notice to address concerns, come up with new ideas, etc. We interviewed several landscaping companies and Robert and Sean were BY FAR the most helpful and professional. They never tried to upsell us and in fact proactively looked for ways to reduce the overall cost of the project on multiple occasions. My cousin is in the landscaping business in a small town in the Midwest. I showed him the plans, budget, etc. and even he agreed that Robert's pricing was fair and reasonable. In NoVA things can get expensive, but rest assured, Robert will not cheat you. He's a stand up guy and we were thrilled to hire him.

Fantastic company! Extremely professional and the quality of the work was outstanding. Robert and Sean were always available and helpful - listening to our desires and translating them into a beautiful outdoor space we will be enjoying for years to come. Always on time and responsive, providing expertise and input so that we could get exactly what we wanted within our budget. We would definitely use them again and have been recommending them to friends and neighbors.

This is my second time Using Groff Landscape Design and the second time I have been completely blown away by the quality of their product (patio, deck, general landscaping) and the responsiveness of their design and installation crew. They worked with me closely over several versions of the general landscape design to get just what I wanted. My wife and I -- and our neighbors -- love what Groff has done with the property.

Rob and his team have done 3 projects for us over the past 7 years. There could not be a more accommodating and professional team. They worked within our budget - giving us various options that would work based on how much we wanted to spend. We will absolutely use Groff for our other landscape projects and would highly recommend them to our friends and family.

Groff was fantastic to work with from beginning to end, I got immediate detailed answers to questions at all times of day. The team was courteous, responsive, and took time to explain everything they were doing. Our new outdoor space is like having two fantastic new rooms added to our home!

Robert Groff and his company have a wonderful job landscaping my backyard. To begin with they assessed my needs and wants, then provided a detailed plan that included costs. I was able to request changes in the plan though I found that I was happy with it as it was initially presented. Once I approved the plan, they installed a patio, walkways, lighting, and numerous plants and shrubs. His crew was always on time, and when there were weather delays I was always notified ahead of time how long the anticipated delay would be.

Rob was easily accessible through both mobile phone and email and was prompt in his responses. Were they perfect? No, but they were as good as you can find, better than most. When I noticed that some of the hardscaping didn't appear to be correct, Rob was onsite the following morning before his crew started, noted the problem and had it corrected immediately. The job site was always neat at the end of the day. The crew was courteous and self-sufficient, never once bothering me by asking for anything.

I was so pleased with the work Groff Landscaping did on my back yard that I had them replace my front walk and porch the following year. For work that they don't do they were able to provide me a referral to someone who does. For example, Rob referred me to a company that would install rails on my front porch once his job was competed.

Would I recommend Groff Landscaping? I already have, several times.

Rob and his team worked several beautiful projects for us over the years: hardscapes, landscaping, retaining and seating walls, boulder steps, paver patios, and yard grading, to summarize. The work was excellent and they take the satisfaction/comfort of the customer seriously! The crews are very respectful (NOT subcontractors!), and Rob and/or the Project Manager were on-site to keep and eye on progress and update us regularly. We look forward to the next opportunity to work with his team!

We had a extraordinary experience working with Robert and his team. They are professional, thorough and highly attuned to their customers’ needs. Robert Groff has raised the bar in our book. From start to finish the experience exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Groff to anyone who is looking to upgrade and enhance the outdoor space around their home. We couldn’t be happier with the result.

We hired Groff to design and build a new front entrance area, this included multiple retaining walls, custom concrete band walkway, stacked stone facade on the house exterior and a pillar, plantings, boulders, edging and lighting.

From amazing 3D design and detailed itemized estimates through to the completed project, I was 100% happy with the quality of work, attention to detail and responsiveness of the entire Groff team.

I couldn't be more pleased with GLD and look forward to using them on our next landscaping project.

I think it's safe to say I was completely impressed by Groff every step of the way. The designer I worked with was kind and took my notes and needs into account, their horticulturist, Quinn, was so delightfully excited about my plants and put up with my thousand questions during our walk through, and finally the installation team was AMAZING. Josh and his team were punctual, kind, and really there for the project every step of the way. At one point, the company delivering the grill had left it in front of my garage, trapping my car in on a Friday afternoon (I certainly couldn't lift it myself); I called Josh and someone was there to move it within an hour. There were some delays due to deliveries (Covid & supply lines & whatnot), but they were all communicated and when supplies did come it, the team made it clear finishing my project was a top priority.

What really blew me away though (and continues to impress) was Groff's care for my project AFTER it was finished (and the last check had cleared). Josh came by to install a new fire pit igniter after the first one didn't work. While there, he noticed they hadn't filled a raised garden bed and came back to do that a few days later (I hadn't even noticed it tbh!). Robert Groff himself called after the project was over to make sure I was satisfied and I mentioned being annoyed at the automatic light schedule and not knowing how to program it differently. He said he would look into it and within an hour had identified the problem and screen shooted images of how to fix it. THEN, just today, a full 8 months after the project is complete, I received an email from their horticulturist, Quinn, asking if all the plants were still doing well and if I wanted to do a walk through with him just to be sure.

Look, they were certainly not the cheapest option, but from my standpoint (a single woman, living alone, who really needed someone to be there for her and manage this), they are well worth it. A FULL 5 stars.

Robert Groff, his designer and installation team completed a project at my home with the utmost professionalism, attention to detail, with total communication during the project, on budget and within the timeframe even with the rain delays!!. Most importantly, the resulting landscape is a beauty!! I recommend this company without any reservation. The designer, Sean and his team, listened carefully during the design phase, provided input of additional fantastic ideas to make the project better than we imagined at the outset. The construction phase was flawless, the landscape team was on time every day and put the design plan into reality and adjustments were made daily to improve the outcome.

The Groff team was great. Highly communicative, transparent with recommendations on both what we should do and shouldn't do, and kind. Did a great job with exterior of our home. Great partners!

Rob and his team were great to work with. We had a tricky backyard - small with slope and drainage issues. My goals were clear - create a small patio, make the rest of the yard as level as possible, and eliminate the mud pit situation we were dealing with every time it rained. Sean, the designer we worked with, came up with a design for the yard I hadn't considered that really helped best utilize the limited space and made the best of the natural slope of the yard. When it came to the actual work on the yard, Rob was on site at least once a day and in touch with us daily to answer questions, seek feedback from us, and give progress reports. He and his team were terrific. Several neighbors have commented how great the space looks. Now that I am living with the final product, I am thrilled. My family is out using the space nearly every single day. Overall, Rob and his team were incredibly responsive and collaborative from start to finish.

We worked with Rob and his team to design and install softscape (plantings) in our front, side, and back yard. They provided excellent communication, great visualizations of what they proposed, and worked well with our feedback. They worked efficiently and finished well ahead of schedule. We are very happy with the work they did.

Rob and his team were the absolute best! The planning phase with Rob was excellent, he helped problem solve our situation and gave honest insight on how we should proceed, with plenty of quick and detailed feedback. During the install he was present with his team the day of and everything went exactly according to plan and budget. The team was a delight to work with, they were friendly, clean and professional. I couldn't be happier with the end result and will definitely be using Rob and Groff for all future projects.

The Groff team is incredible. They did a new stone patio, backyard drainage, sod installation, and new flower bed plantings for us. The work was exactly on schedule, the team was professional, meticulous in their work, and very easy to work with. They are definitely my first choice for any future landscaping work!

Working with Rob and his team was an amazing experience. The careful and thought out plan was like they read our mind. The installation process was extremely organized. Rob always kept us updated on when people would be there and even when they wouldn’t be. The client care made us feel like we were his only clients when in truth I’m sure he was working on many more. GLD handled all of the communication with the various other vendors needed to compete our project. Having worked on many projects in the past this was by far the easiest with one of the most beautiful results!! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a high quality project and a great team to work with!

We have done many home improvements projects and Groff is the absolute gold standard. They do beautiful, quality work and they mean it when they say they are serious about customer service. Robert’s turn-around time for answering questions by email was usually within the hour. He and Sean were both patient with us as we explored different design options and and changed our minds a few times. They offered helpful suggestions but were never pushy, and they were always responsive to what we decided. We also have to recognize Jose, who personally drove stone samples from Ashburn to Arlington on a weekend so that we wouldn’t have to wait several extra days for delivery. It was such a pleasure working with this company. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
